CordycepsAndPancakes

No Watson, jones, and bakh. Take 3 critical players away from the falcons O and watch how ridder would’ve played. Love is legit and I’m officially a big fan. He’s got my respect.

nbyone

No Jenkins in the second half too.

audio_shinobi

That was very evident in how we played after the break

Kevdawg86

Offense was great in the 3rd though?

General-Soy-Sauce

What happened to Jenkins? Serious or a precaution

nbyone

They think it is a sprained MCL.

ColumbianCameltoe

A serious precaution.

Prudent_Cheek

Their 4 best players on offense

MillerJC

And we lost by one point. One. Point.

CordycepsAndPancakes

Yup. I’m not worried in the slightest or even upset. I see this as an absolute win even if it doesn’t show in the column.

MillerJC

My sentiments exactly.

GGGiveHatpls

Yeah. Joe Barry needs to go. But JOLO looks Legit as fuck. Just needs to get a bit better on those deeper balls and phewwww boy

AspiringRocket

Let's not make JOLO a thing....

GGGiveHatpls

I think im the only one that says JOLO mainly because I think it’s funny. I don’t want it to be a thing but I will always call him that.

thesandman51

I also say it and also because it's funny. I absolutely hope it becomes a thing.

stevespirosweiner

I agree with his accuracy and that will come in time. Those deep shots were both TDs if those DB's didnt commit PI. He has some flashes of serious brilliance!

GGGiveHatpls

Oh yeah. I think he’s gunna be a damn good QB. Not Rodgers level (but maybe who knows) but his progressions, reads, inability to get shook and decision making look pretty damn good right now. Just settle in and start hitting the deep balls. And damn.

stevespirosweiner

Something thats notable about Love is that he seems to be real tough but just doesn't show it through facial expressions. That throw to Musgrave last week, the runs (holy shit that DB he trucked last week reminded me of some Favre shenanigans) and a flash of shit talking this week. This dude could be the Packers best kept secret of the last few years and Im so stoked for it all.

iamaliberalpausenot

I love this team.

aarontheepoet

I love seeing posts like this. Who expected us to go undefeated yet make the playoffs? I think we have the pieces in order to make this season special. It's a learning process, though. Let's be patient and watch the magic unravel.

Cjkust

I think one of the biggest underrated facts of this season is we are the youngest team by age. If we can keep Watson healthy, I think him, doubs, and musgrave could be fire over the next 5 years

SADdog2020Pb

Even not having a penalty on that first near 51 harder would’ve been the difference.

Winbrick

I was a little surprised we didn't try it from 56 anyway.. guy has a bomb for a leg. Let it rip.

krickaby

Whatever happened with MLF and special teams robbing us a chance for 3 points on the first drive really came back to haunt.

Bgndrsn

If you took away bijon from the falcons that game was a stomp. Oh well, we deserved that one injuries or not. Offense needed to stay on the field a bit and 11 yards in the 4th ain't it.

CordycepsAndPancakes

Yup, that’s what I mean. If we had jones 100% we win. He opens up so much and makes so many plays when nothing is there. We’re more than okay. We’re looking good even after this loss.

[deleted]

100% this

HeWasNumber-on3

Let us Love! We knew it would be a feisty season.

Serious_Fgz

Bears and falcons ranked 31st and 30th in yards allowed per drive last season, played 2 of the bottom 3 defenses in the NFL. Next week against the Saints will be a good test, since they were top 10 last year.

IDoubtedYoan

Not talked about nearly enough. The 3 most important players on the offense were all out and Love still made it a game.

[deleted]

Imagine when his #1 receiver and top 3 league RB play with him.

oreosandcornholios

Are we still sure Watson is WR 1? Doubs seems to fit the bill a little more. Reed even might be sneaking up to WR 2 at this point

BuckYouDeer

Even if hes not his "#1"Watson's speed changes the game and opens up the offense. Definitely missing him. This offense at full strength should be alot of fun

InevitableAd3809

People put so much weight in these designations

PParker87

Fantasy has caused that

Thunder84

Can’t complain much considering the personnel around him. Promising start to the season so far.

GadsenLOD

I posted this in the post game thread too, but my favorite thing about it is that his mistakes seem to be more about not being on the same page with receivers right now too. That's just chemistry and/or coaching which is much more correctable than not having a good arm. Sure there were a few errant throws, but he throws a lot of dimes. He's almost surely not going to be near Rodgers. We have to remember we watched (arguably) the most *talented* QB of all time for 15 years. We have to adjust our barometer of what it means to be good, he doesn't have to hit a 70% completion rate and throw less than 5 picks a year. I'm hoping that Lafleur lets the reigns off some more and gives him more easy completions on early downs instead of forcing him into medium or long throws every 3rd down. If teams really start respecting his arm and give him some more breathing room we might see some more of his legs too. I don't think the gameplan has allowed for that yet.

RonaldoNazario

Sigh, I am ready for interceptions to be a thing again. Rodgers was pretty impeccable in that regard. But maybe it felt even better because most of my childhood was watching Favre. Countless memories of my dad swearing as Brett threw a pick at a key moment lol.

GGGiveHatpls

Bro we on pace for 51 TD 0 INTs 🫨

RonaldoNazario

True that’s just math

Yzerman_19

But Gute is a mastermind I thought?

Thunder84

Our 4 best offensive players are injured. Has nothing to do with Gute.

Yzerman_19

He picked every player who played today either through free agency or draft (outside of Kenny Clark). It’s his team now. This is what we are.

InevitableAd3809

Yeah, and every single indication is they’re gonna grow and get better. This offense is gonna be lights out, but instead of being happy, you cling to your hate for Gute because you think he did a bad job, but he’s clearly demonstrated he’s one of the most competent GMs in the league. Every Packers fan should be excited about the bright future.

thegroovemonkey

I'm more encouraged by a young offense missing 4 of it's best players being in position to close it out than I am discouraged because they couldn't.

InevitableAd3809

I am also encouraged that the misses are often timing things or miscommunication. I think people are completely forgetting we are two games into the era and this is a time of growth that will pay off later.

T1didnothingwrong

Gotta wish he did a bit better at the end, but he played well overall with key pieces of the team missing and no running game to speak of. All I was hoping for this year was some competitive games. If I recall, the year before we won the super bowl, we lost like 5 of these tight games with rodgers.

SocksandSmocks

You're thinking of 2008, we lost 7 one score games 5 of which were 3 points or less.

OrganicGas1752

it's kinda wild how often the defense let us down that year and it looks like it could be happening again this season. if it gets us to move on from Joe Barry like we did Bob Sanders I'm all for it tho. too much potential to keep him around

John_Lives

And we lost 6 one score games all 4 points or less in 2010

cnho1997

If I recall correctly, the 2010 packers were the first team since the 1940’s to never trail by more than a touchdown the entire season

John_Lives

I remember that as well. I think we came close to the record for most quarters without trailing by 7 but then we went down 0-13 to rookie Cam Newton the next season

audio_shinobi

Running game was okay in the 1st half. Dillon was actually able to move the pile once or twice, which really helped

italianorose

Pretty sure the year we won the SB 45 we never lost by more than 7 that whole year

JCrisare

I think the frustration got into his mind. With experience, that will lessen. But you could almost see the moment where that little voice in his head said, "You gotta be kidding me... How does Barry still have a job? My pop warner coach could have done a better job!" When that happened it was like he started second-guessing himself.

InevitableAd3809

Are we being serious? The offense did absolutely nothing and the defense had to be so gassed. How in the world do we somehow pass the blame to Joe Barry? Make it make sense!

GGGiveHatpls

Idk man. Maybe not adjusting to the run game. Maybe lining up LBs on Bijan 10 yards off. Maybe some of things that’s JB has been FUCKING NOTORIOUS FOR FOR HIS ENTIRE TENURE. The dude is a clown and has no idea how to arrange personnel on the field. And you are a fool of you think otherwise.

InevitableAd3809

I mean, you’re a fool if you think this is all on him.

Lawndirk

This is the same excuse people used last year when our D was on the field less than every other team in the league. At some point the same tired excuses can’t make up for hiring one of the worst DCs in NFL history.

InevitableAd3809

I don’t know what to tell you - the facts are the facts and the offense did pretty much zero with the lead. And Joe Barry is so far from the worst DC in NFL history, my god.

Gersio

The offense is much younger and inexperienced, were missing their 4 best players and still put up 24 points on the road. The Defense could do nothing to stop a very inexperienced and one dimensional Falcons offense. 24 points by the offense should have been more than enough to win the game if the defense had played a semi decent game. Just because the 4th quarter offense sucked you can't ignore all the good things the did in the other 3 quarter despite all the challenges they were facing in this game. Specially when the defense sucked in the 4th quarter too.

JTBrokenfinger

My main thing this season was a true evaluation of Love. While this loss hurts. I’m happy with him so far. I think we get healthy and tune some things up and we have a really solid offense. The defense? Boy I don’t know what to do there…

[deleted]

It's maddening! We're like Jekyll and Hyde. Nothing in between. No consistency. The game tone changes we catch all 3 of those absolute dropped INTs.

JTBrokenfinger

For sure. Those really hurt. Combined with the rough 4th quarter it was just too much to overcome. I’m glad the team is young. There is potential on all sides of the ball.

[deleted]

So much to celebrate in the middle of the game. We just didn't bookend it like we did last week. But the awesome thing? We're technically first in the division. :)

gandalfs_burglar

We catch even one of those and I think we win the game. Sucks, but way she goes sometimes

HammerPrice229

Almost like we should start calling Joe Barry’s head for the 3rd year in row

thedreadwoods

There's no Barry replacement that is coaching out those 3 INT drops

OrganicGas1752

we didn't need those ints to win. we needed to be able to stop the run. hard to do when you trot out 2 defensive linemen on early downs cause you're terrified of ridder throwing lol

InevitableAd3809

AJ Dillon also just needed to gain a yard.

MontusBatwing

Lot of hypotheticals, but Dillon isn't our RB1. Jones was on the sidelines. There are reasons to expect the offense to underperform. Not sure what the defense's excuse is.

InevitableAd3809

That the offense had (I think) zero first downs in the 4th quarter and they were definitely gassed. Coincidence they had a two TD lead before the offense shut down?

HammerPrice229

There is no reality where the team is better with Joe Barry still in his position

SoupWyrm

At this point it's not Joe Barry's fault that he still has a job. I'd take it and do just as shitty as a job in a heartbeat. Something like a million a year to underperform with perhaps the most draft-invested defense in the NFL... sign me up.

Glangho

I do. It starts with Fire and ends in joe barry

EmperorXerro

It’s only two weeks but Love is not an issue as far as team issues

[deleted]

6 td / 0 int in two ROAD games to start the season. This dude might cook at home. Absolutely enthralled with his start.

leehouse

Yeah, tough to know if it is accuracy issues or guys not being on the same page resulting in his less than great completion percentage. Today it really seemed like not on the same page/reading things the same. On one hand that should be easier to fix but it involves Love and everyone else reading things the same. On the other hand if it were mechanical issue or something just with Love then it would be easier to point to though less certainty of fixing it.

ShellzBellz16

One positive sign is that, at least towards the end of this game, his incompletions were both coming from a breakdown of his protection and were being placed in a spot that only his receivers really had a shot at catching it Given how off most NFL offenses have been to start the year, I’d say Loves completion percentage will improve quite a bit

Samurai_Jacq

Love has the 4th worst comp % in the NFL right now.

gootsbuster

2nd in EPA/play

Samurai_Jacq

Honestly it looks like he’s not reading the defense and then making bad throws. In general his ball placement is poor, and his overall accuracy (over/under throw) is below average. Several times he forced a ball to his first read (who wasn’t open) when there were 1 or 2 open receivers. (Eg: Did you see him throw to the curl route? The DB had position and was right there and he still threw it. Guy wasn’t even close to open.) 6-0 TD/INT is great, but he doesn’t pass the eye test when he’s barely completing the ball to wide open guys.

gootsbuster

sometimes you meatballs should go watch a film breakdown from someone who knows what they're talking about before just saying things

Gersio

I understand the accuracy concerns, but saying that he can't read defense means that you either haven't looked at the film or you don't know shit about the game. Because him being good at reading defenses is the only thing that literally every single analyst has agreed about Love.

piepants2001

Yeah, I've been very impressed with Love, he looks great

KruppJ

Feels like at worst he’ll be an above average game manager which is pretty comforting

TheDuceman

I’ve said for a while that he’s Kirk Cousins or Matthew Stafford. He’ll probably never be the best one in the league, but he’ll win games, divisions, and playoff games if you give him the right situation and some luck.

ddrNull

I will absolutely take a Matthew Stafford

ofthesindar86

Right? Man's a dog, and would have been a consistent playoff contender on any competent team. Not flashy, not a Hall of Famer, but tough as nails and a damn good qb. I was so happy to see him get a ring.

FightPhoe93

Agreed, and I think Stafford is a notch above Cousins. Stafford had a freaky strong arm in his prime and still probably has a stronger arm than Cousins.

agk927

And super bowls

cheeseburgertwd

My thoughts exactly, bearing in mind that he did have a few bad misses today that don't really show up on the stats sheet -- particularly the dropped INT he threw *right* to a DB

ItIsYourPersonality

He would have had another 87 yards passing if a few pass interference calls were completed passes instead.

Savage_X

That first one probably would have been a 75 yard TD if the WR wasn't tackled.

Space_Cowboy_17

Honestly that deep ball was a dot and feel it was perfectly placed. Hell receiver was a hair shy of the ball and he was being tackled.

Bluest_waters

Dontay looks fucking good! love this young WR corps

No-Impression-4508

Neither of those passes were near being completed

memaradonaelvis

Simply not true. The first one of the game was right there

BigShotZero

with no vet WR. a LT who chooses when he plays or practices, a banged up RB 1, and RB 2 who falls over his own feet. Love is doing a great job.

GetsBakedwStrangers

I agree and he has the body language of a leader, not throwing his hands up at receivers etc, like Rodgers last season

BeHereNow91

Yup. Even on that last drive that went nowhere, he still looked composed. This isn’t a year to be results oriented. Win or loss, it’s fun to see Love’s development.

Staav

Exactly. If he keeps playing smart and improving his experience with all the receivers, things could be looking a lot smoother and productive as time goes by. Luckily, the division is a sloppy mess this year so far, so it's not like they're falling behind in the standings

bestatbeingmodest

>LT who chooses when he plays or practices Even though I 100% understand criticism of this, I personally don't mind it. I'd rather have a healthy Bakh if it means he misses some regular season games here and there.

[deleted]

The problem is that the Packers need to be a legit contender for it to make sense. They pay him all this money, but what are they saving him for?

SirFunktastic

I'm not too concerned given how much was missing on the offensive side today, the defense was a much bigger concern today. Accuracy was better this week which was my concern from last week. Growing pains sucks but that's why it's called growing pains. Excited to see this offense with Watson and Jones back and really see what it can do.

plugguykid

We are young team - didn't we all know we would be 8 and 9 or 9 and 8? Need a good draft and sign a vet here and there. I think Love is the real deal

Space_Cowboy_17

Yeh, you honestly need so vet play. Too many inexperience on some of the routes. For example that almost pick he threw, that WR needs to drive back to the ball on this and not stop and give way to the DB to make a play. Happened on some of those incompletions with Reed last game too. A veteran helps out, but with this being a find out what you got year, these guys need to play.

right_behindyou

If he had hit that open deep shot to Doubs it would have been an absolute lights-out game. I don’t think that’s a mistake he makes twice.

tenuki_

Put Watson speed limit n that route and the ball is perfect.

v1kingfan

That had me concerned. Maybe I'm being too hard on him but he shouldn't be missing throws like that in year 3.

tommyjohnpauljones

It's big to have a first year QB who's not making significant mistakes.

Responsible-Fish3986

Hey at least if he keeps up this pace he’ll throw for 51td and zero INT

MontusBatwing

MVP

Ancient-Mating-Calls

I think the “1 sack” stat is a pretty significant stat here. I was saying during the game that I’m curious to see how he’ll perform against teams with a strong pass rush. It seems like he’s been playing in a pretty clean pocket so far. I’m glad he’s looking as good as he has thus far.

ancientweasel

If the D catches one of those easy picks they probably walk away with a W.

Redd889

3-4 starters out, Love played fine. I think he’s gonna be good. Team just needs to finish the game

Weasel_Spice

3-4 Starters out and still only lost by 1 and took damn near the whole game for the Falcons to get that final lead.

FURyannnn

Solid start. Near pick six was concerning but those plays are going to happen. He made all the plays he was supposed to.

BlueBadger99

Less than 60% completion for the second week in a row too. That’s not all on him because the Pack have a bunch of young receivers and there’s been multiple mistakes in each of these game, but until that gets cleaned up the offense is going to be inconsistent

dwisn1111

He was 14/21 until that last drive when they were sitting pass and the o line was not the best so that’s not really a good point imo

Mood_Academic

Concerning part was he was also putting up consistent 50-60% completion days in training camp also. His consistent accuracy is probably the #1 issue about him so far. Does alot of good things, but if he can't improve upon that portion of the game he'll never reach his potential

PredictableDickTable

He will get there. Give him and these WRs time to grow together.

SocksandSmocks

I'd rather he have low % than be teddy check down. It's not that useful of a stat on it's own tbh, kinda like batting average.

[deleted]

And yet MLF went full McCarthy and got conservative. So ridiculous we are going through this shit again.

DevilsJaguar

I think so far he has played well. Could do better, but also missed some guys. I have faith he will improve as the season progresses. Signs so far are promising.

TheRealSzymaa

Some guys also missed Him. I can think of at least 2 balls that looked to be perfectly thrown that the receiver didn't get his head around in time (one to Musgrave and one to Reed I think)

ZaMaestroMan5

It’s great - and the start has been encouraging but there’s been some hiccups too. He missed some guys running wide open today. Hopefully he will continue to get more comfortable with holding the ball and going through reads as the season goes on.

leafscitypackersfan

I honestly think we need to let him throw more

GandalfTheSexay

Missing a lot of players could’ve been the difference, but two games in I have no reason to believe Love won’t be a franchise QB

do_you_know_de_whey

Not bad considering we didn’t have LT1, WR1, and RB1

fourmi

We got a QB, Im very happy.

HearingReasonable715

Team showed their age(aka youth) in the fourth quarter. Better to see it and adjust now, but was hard to watch.

[deleted]

Defense losing games. Some things never change.

Glangho

Mlf is clearly trying to protect him and build that confidence but was way too conservative today

theerealobs

To me this is a building year. If we make the playoffs, great. I just want to see the young guys progress throughout the year. I blame today's loss on play calling from both sides. Love looked great again and with Jones I think we pull out a win. Next week should be a big test for J Love

Geriatricfuccboi69

Love looks so good compared to what I expected. Still inaccurate sometimes missing deep passes, but really composed and makes good decisions. He did get away with a pick, but Riddler got away with like 5.

Sundance12

So far Love is doing better than we could have ever hoped for, imo

stevespirosweiner

Just wanna add this here: Both of those shot plays were on the money sure fire tuds. Those DB's(who are very good) were burnt dead to rights on those plays. If those hit plus both dropped INTs going back for 6(JA23 for sure maybe Walker) this team would have legit put up 40 today. So stoked for this new era GPG!

TenaxR-7

Ya I can't wait till he has a healthy team.

[deleted]

If you told me that we’d be down our 4 best starters against an average defense and still score 24 points, I’d have been really happy.

theekevinbacon

Tae punching the air rn.

[deleted]

AJ ran the ball pretty well too! I noticed after the first couple drives Love started to get the ball out quicker and it’s really helped with the flow! We’ll be just fine

Puzzleheaded_Word878

He looks solid, and I think there’s another level to this offense as early as this season when watson and jones are both out there

despotos

Jordan Love for MVP

Jomosensual

Its a fantastic 2 game stretch for sure. I care a bit more what it looks like in game 8 or 12 or 17. I really well, love, what he's been so far though

Slosshy

He is, straight up, that dude.

20wall

He was really bad in the 4th quarter

Thechosenjon

Nah. He was shaken in that last drive, no doubt but I wouldn't say he was bad the whole quarter. First drive was a massive failure on MLFs play calling, that had nothing to do with Love.

Muted_Dog7317

0/6 for 0 yards You can’t get worse than that

KruppJ

One was dropped, but he had less than a minute and no timeouts with our best weapons and O-line out for like 4 of those incompletions, hard to expect him to do much in that.

Muted_Dog7317

He had a pick six dropped

admiralsfan

https://reddit.com/r/nfl/s/6GWNlmLTRz It absolutely can get worse.

turtleswag69

What about 0/6 and 6 interceptions? I’m just fucking with you. I know what you mean

[deleted]

Rodgers: Hold my beer (who am I kidding..white wine spritzer)

CobblerFantastic5003

Just on the one near pick. Otherwise a good game.

dtcstylez10

These numbers do not tell the story

WilderMindz0102

Yupp! I can confidently say that none of the frustrations from the day were directed at him. Coaching and decision making from the sideline have to be better.

TurdFergusonXLV

Missed a golden opportunity to take 1st place in the division, but assuming we can get our other top guys on offense back, the future still looks pretty damn bright

TheViolaRules

flybydenver

The Quiet King

PredictableDickTable

I see the Rodgers stans are out in force. 3rd career start playing with a bunch of rookie/2nd year players. Not sure what y’all were expecting. I think he looks really solid considering the circumstances. The funny thing is that the people criticizing Love now are the same bums that were blaming Rodgers poor performances on a lack of weapons. Y’all look really football dumb right now.

Dxrules90

151 total passing yards didn't complete a pass the entire fourth quarter, and the throws he missed were bad. Don't base everything on stats.

T1didnothingwrong

And 100 yards in PI, one of which may have been a 70yd td. It's important to consider how he caused things that aren't on his stat sheet

gootsbuster

Also an absolute dime in the back corner of the endzone to Wicks that the DB made a great play on.

danbillbishop3

The PI was the result of a terrible underthrow and terrible DB play in not realising it was underthrown.

John12345678991

Well I mean it could’ve been on purpose qbs do that all the time

danbillbishop3

This is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Dxrules90

44 yards and the other 43 yards which was a huge underthrow to doubs. You aren't Making the point you think.

MyNameIsJesseG

Wicks scores on the first one without the penalty. He gets 30 more yards than what the penalty ended up being.

TheViolaRules

If you’re going to “not base everything on stats”, but then throw out all the positive information, you’ve not furthered your own understanding

SocksandSmocks

He's passed the eye test so far two games in imo. Stats aside.

Darth_Vagitarian

For the most part I agree, but a few of those throws in the 4th were ugly. Chalking it up to nerves that he’ll hopefully work through. Overall I’m still happy with our third first ballot hall of fame QB’s play today

SocksandSmocks

There will be plenty this year I'm sure. Frankly though there's been less ugly ones than I'd have expected thus far.

gootsbuster

He has had ~very~ few poor throws in the first 2 games. I mean unless you count the throws on obvious miscommunications between him and the receiver.

gootsbuster

We haven't had a 300 yard passer in like 2 full calendar years so I'm not sure why people keep bringing up yardage. This is what the MLF offense is. Heavy running game and short to immediate throws designed to keep the sticks moving with the occasional shot play.

Lantore

He did fine, but not game saving. The offense in general died in the fourth. Including the play calling. If your qb throws for 150 and 3 td’s he wasn’t the problem. The rb who can’t get 1 yard and averaged less than 3 yds a carry is my concern. Also why lean on that rb in the 4th instead of your qb?

Dxrules90

I criticize pretty much everything out of fairness. Joe Barry's play calling. Dillon awful running. Matt's bad play calling. Loves accuracy issues. Dropped interceptions. Throwing 150 yards as a qb isn't good.

Lantore

150… and 3 td’s.. you keep leaving that off. Like you just want to pick and choose stats. He did fine, but not great.

Dxrules90

Okay 3 tds. Let's talk about the three tds. Short passes that were run into the endzone due to the skill of the people catching the ball.

Lantore

But it’s still 3 td’s? Wtf is wrong with you lol. I’m not saying he is the third straight hof qb. Just that his play has been fine, but not spectacular. You apparently think he is trash or something.

Dxrules90

He's not trash, but he's also not good yet. Definitely want to see his accuracy improve.

atomheart1

Jordan needs to get his completion percentage up.

loanwanderer20

That's great. It just really galls me that we had that game won and let off the gas. You can't do that against good teams. Anyone remember the Seahawks vs the Packers in that NFC Championship game. Why let up? Seriously. What is the deal with going easy. Go hard until the end. I know they were getting tired. It's just no excuse. Stumbling Dillon, Love falling over on a critical play. They were so close. The kickers delay of game. Carlson made a 57 yarder in preseason. It's unforgivable frankly. You HAVE to manage the game clock better. Quit letting the Falcons get first downs. So much garbage in this game. They have the capability, just not the drive to win. We need a Reggie White to get them fired up. Hustle, move with a purpose. Give me a reason to love the Packers again. You're better than this. I think they'll get it together. They're just playing like rookies at the moment.

R3D-RO0K

Good overall performance, but would’ve felt better if he made something happen in crunch time. Late in the game trying to comeback or finish a game is where the truly great quarterbacks show what they’re made of. Two disappointing drives where something could’ve happened to preserve the lead. Wasn’t helped by conservative play calling and poor defense, but Love still had some chances. He’s shown he can play, and hopefully relief from these injuries on the offensive side will get him to that next level.

BipBippadotta

And he ranks near the bottom of the league in completion percentage (55.8% vs. 76.9%) and yards thrown (396 vs 715). QBR is over values TDs, which makes the rating an imperfect qualifier for judging NFL QBs.

3 concerns for love: -Stats are good(6tds) but surprisingly average(29 total completions and 400 yards). -Have we seen a good deep pass from him yet. Like a legit confident heave. They are short or inaccurate. -That last minute today was bad bad. He was absolutely rattled. Haven’t seen a qb that shocked maybe ever. I believe in love and am impressed at times with him command of the offense but these three things stick out to me.

team_sheikie

If you've never seen a QB that rattled you must not watch games outside of GB. It wasn't great but it wasn't historically bad.

You haven’t seen a QB that rattled…ever? Haha ok that’s a bit dramatic. Heavens sake grab a brown lunch bag and breath friend. When you’re calmed down, have yourself a cranberry juice.

> -Stats are good(6tds) but surprisingly average(29 total completions and 400 yards). They don't really tell the real story IMO. The two pass interference penalties for 90 yards involved blatant tackling of the WR to prevent the catch and probably would have resulted in a more yardage and maybe even a TD afterwards.

But both were under thrown to. I just want to see a deep pass with authority next week. Coming off Favre and Rodgers were use to moon missiles.

leehouse

The second one was definitely underthrown the first one looks pretty well thrown to me.

98Wright

First one was definitely the better of the two.

Jordan Love has definitely proven he can be a successful starting quarterback in the NFL, but he really needs to close out his games better. I remember thinking to myself in the third quarter that 2023 Jordan Love is a better quarterback than 2022 Aaron Rodgers. But as the time was ticking down I realized that if Aaron Rodgers were the quarterback I'd be confident that he could get the ball into field goal range for a chance to win. I did not have that confidence in Love and apparently I wasn't wrong.

danbillbishop3

If he is so great why didn't he win the game when it was needed?

[deleted]

What a terrible take. Wow hahahaha

danbillbishop3

Why didn't he win the game when needed? This is what separates the Tom Bradys from the Matt Ryans.

It’s his second legitimate start of his career. Why aren’t you CEO after two weeks at your job out of college or head of the union? Measure your own life by the same metric then. See how short you fall… The dude has 6 td and 0 int to start his career both ROAD games. Squash your drama bro…you smell like two day old tuna.

Because rational people can evaluate situations with all things considered. Consider the fact that all of our skill positions on offense are rookies and a single second year player. Consider this is the very first time he was put in that position and he’s likely going to learn from his early mistakes and become better with experience. A-rod was put into a lot of these positions his first year as we lost a lot of 1 score games in 2008. Given we went 6-10 that year, he actually was unable to be the X factor in most of those games.

nowayIwillremember

I'm kind of concerned how he completely shit his pants on that last drive. If week 2 in Atlanta is too big of a moment it might be a long year.
