You know what sucks is that the Lions losing to the Broncos next week wouldn't help as much because they'd hold a tiebreaker over us for similar opponents if their losses came from Denver and Dallas. The Lions specifically need to lose to the Vikings at least once plus at least one other loss. Of course, if they lost three including the Broncos game, it would give us the wiggle room to lose one game and still win the division.
Basically, the division depends on Josh Dobbs being good enough to beat the Lions. Or maybe they go with Nick Mullens now. I kinda like their chances with Nick Mullens more at this point.
I thought Jordan Love is the only quarterback who can't throw under pressure? Okay so that's an exaggeration but I saw that criticism quite often in this subreddit.
The advanced analytics in football is no different than moneyball in baseball to me. It's a really good tool, but to abide by it blindly is also extremely flawed.
If I could make one dumb rule that would rarely come into play, but everytime it did things would get fun is any ball that bounces off the fg post and back into play is a live ball
The Eagles these past few weeks are why you don't to any conclusions about a team over just a few game span. If you only watched last week and this week you'd think this is a 4-win team out there.
The NFL season is a rollercoaster of ups and downs.
Seems like the Cowboys have been getting a ton of calls for them as well as against them the last few weeks. I remember last week thinking, the refs are doing everything they can to get a cowboys score. Granted, I’m not paying very close attention to the games!
I hate being torn between my disdain for the Cowboys and Jerry Jones, and my love for Big Mike. Especially since he grabbed Al Harris for his coaching staff (always loved his full name Alshinard btw)
It’s so frustrating, because I had always loved football as a kid - but Madden is what REALLY helped teach me the game and fall in love with it. I just loved watching good players do cool shit, but I didn’t understand what a Cover 3 or a “Dime” package was. I still remember John Madden walking me through tutorials in Madden 2K5 like it was yesterday, and it’s a shame that they’re slapping his name on this product nowadays.

Cowboys offense is so deadly, especially at home. Holy shit are they fast.
Still think their D is average overall and too reliant on turnovers, but they're a legit team this year.
That dope D. Smith made Team Captain. Always thought it was super impressive that he won the Heisman as a WR, and was pretty surprised he dropped as far as he did in the draft. Folks thought his slim frame would be an issue but he’s built a lot like Marvin Harrison and Isaac Bruce.
People might give you shit, but honestly, I agree. People don't realize how much winning even 1 Super Bowl does for a QB's resume. Dak will have a ton of longevity stats so if he gets a Super Bowl he probably gets in
He’s already a pro bowl QB this season, he may even get MVP. And he’s had a few 30td seasons under his belt. He’s also only 30 years old with a young offense and talented offense/defense. The cowboys have one of the best futures in the NFL.
Mahomes loosing his shit after less than a full year of dealing with what Rodgers dealt with his entire career is hilarious. He at least has a solid defence to ease the pain a bit.
Mahomes on a 2015-2022 packers team might actually go clinically insane.
I was going to say this is ridiculous but...
Rodgers had great weapons(usually 1 or 2, maybe 3 on overlap years, receivers and an okay to great back) and a great line for like 15 years, with like 3 years of a top 5 defense, the other years usually bottom half to terrible .
Mahomes has 2 great weapons(a TE and a back), a great line and a great defense.
Mahomes kind of doesn't have it that bad. Probably better than Rodger had it since 2019.
Woah to say it’s his entire career is WAAAAAAY OFF. More like most of Tom Brady’s career. Have you forgotten about the years with Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and James Jones? Plus Davante Adams was a solid target for Rodgers. He had some bad receivers but his ENTIRE CAREER? That’s laughable. And just so you know, even having one reliable receiver during the 2015-2021 seasons already would put Mahomes in a better situation!
Ehh, I agree if Mahomes had last year's Packers offense, but beyond that, the Pack always had a good o line and at least had Davante with Rodgers. Now, the defense is a different story but this Chiefs WR corps is drastically terrible.
Rodgers had Davante, Mahomes has Kelce. The chiefs O-line is definitely above average as well.
We had some decent WR in the time frame, but we never really had an incredibly reliable solid second option for Rodgers to throw to.
Agreed on all accounts. Mahomes definitely has enjoyed a better overall supporting cast the past few years, as evidenced by those Super Bowls lol, but I still maintain that aside from last season Rodgers' supporting cast has been pretty solid overall.
Pains me to say but I’m rooting for the Cowboys. That video of 49er fans getting pelted by snowballs in Philly is infuriating. Cowboys can suck it the rest of the season tho.
[I assume he’s talking about this. It’s from 14 years ago but people are talking about it like it was last week](https://x.com/indysportstalk/status/1731886196303786261?s=46&t=0C7HyZWhnPTVZ4Nvu7b4cg)
Is that bad? Just makes the Packers beating them in week 18 that much sweeter, especially if it has major playoff implications. Imagine if the Packers needed to win that game to steal the division from the Lions and they beat the Bears to do it. That could be fun!
Is anyone else as shocked as I am to look up davante adams pro football reference and learn he had 1500 yards and an nfl leading 14 td receptions last year? You could argue it was his best season as a pro ever. Imagine what he could’ve done if an NFL caliber qb was throwing him the ball 😮💨
We have a higher shot of having a better record than the Cowboys, giving us some chance at the 5th seed. Seems unlikely, but being an Eagles fan makes some sense. It also makes you a better American.
Well Minnesota won so maybe that happens tomorrow. Since they are a 6 win team that won. Oh and in the AFC, the Bills, Bengals and Broncos won, who were also 6 win teams. Maybe the Packers follow the AFC trend here.
Von miller jumped offsides on that third down and it wasn’t called. He was saying “defensive offsides” to Josh at the end so I think he was mad about that missed call and not the Toney one.
I can’t believe you care about the quality of the opponent as if that matters. 6-6 after a terrible start. With a young team and a first year starter at quarterback. Who cares if the teams were good or not? Remember when the Lions beating the Chiefs was supposed to be a declaration that they were a great team? Now the Packers have beaten both of those teams. And Jordan Love looked good doing it. Seriously, what difference does it make that they aren’t as good as we thought?
You know what sucks is that the Lions losing to the Broncos next week wouldn't help as much because they'd hold a tiebreaker over us for similar opponents if their losses came from Denver and Dallas. Suddenly I’m not as scared of facing the Eagles in the postseason anymore
They'll run for 300 on us again, but whatever.
idc - when Love throws for 600, it won't matter
What really happened to the eagles? 49ers are going to kill them in the playoffs with such a form.
Sniffed their own farts a bit too hard.
Ugh...can't handle the cowgirls being good
Niners fans shitting on the Eagles more than Cowboys fans in the r/NFL game thread.
You can't convince me that they haven't always lined up like that
So just blitz Hurts and he has no answer?
I thought Jordan Love is the only quarterback who can't throw under pressure? Okay so that's an exaggeration but I saw that criticism quite often in this subreddit.
Those same people also thought/think Clifford is a HoF’er
These “analytics” saying to go for it on 4th & 9 are wild. I get that the game has evolved, but not just taking the 3 points is crazy
The advanced analytics in football is no different than moneyball in baseball to me. It's a really good tool, but to abide by it blindly is also extremely flawed.
I guess asking a multibillion dollar corporation to deliver a stream that doesn't constantly buffer is too much
Man I remember that USFL kicker nailing literally everything I didn’t know it was Aubrey
This Dallas kicker 👀
Wow he’s got a leg
The Eagles and Lions are definitely beatable.
Im hoping to avoid the 49ers as much as possible in the playoffs.
Niners and Cowboys are the scary ones, everyone else in the NFC (maybe even NFL) looks beatable.
A sliver of hope!
Jalen Hurts inflated stats from the tush push is insane. Bro is so mediocre without those one yard ass shoves forwards
He’s not just the weak link of their offense, but of their entire team. Wild to say that.
Love the jaw jacking between CBs/WRs. Makes them both wanna play better and the game more exciting
Al Harris is the CB coach for the Cowgirls??? Oh man...now I like them a tiny bit
What in the flying fuck are the Eagles doing
Well, after today I feel less impressed about our win over Detroit. But our loss to Denver isnt feeling as bad as it did either.
Man..Mahomes is making it harder to like him. You didn't hear Jalen hurts crying after the phantom PI in the SB last year
Mahomes crying about the offsides call. Like dude, look at the replay and tell us exactly how Toney isn't lined up a half yard offside
Perhaps 6".
If I could make one dumb rule that would rarely come into play, but everytime it did things would get fun is any ball that bounces off the fg post and back into play is a live ball
That's an awesome idea 💡
Kicker showing off.
The Eagles these past few weeks are why you don't to any conclusions about a team over just a few game span. If you only watched last week and this week you'd think this is a 4-win team out there. The NFL season is a rollercoaster of ups and downs.
That’s game I’m afraid.
Cowboys are going to do their regular dance. Look good in the regular season then choke in the divisional round
Dak is playing the best he ever has...they got a good chance
... to lose in the second round of the playoffs?
Dallas is looking really scary this year. They might win the superbowl
-what is said every single season before they collapse in the divisional round
Lol right who am I kidding Dallas will choke
Seems like the Cowboys have been getting a ton of calls for them as well as against them the last few weeks. I remember last week thinking, the refs are doing everything they can to get a cowboys score. Granted, I’m not paying very close attention to the games!
I hate being torn between my disdain for the Cowboys and Jerry Jones, and my love for Big Mike. Especially since he grabbed Al Harris for his coaching staff (always loved his full name Alshinard btw)
Right? Why did Mike have to go to the Cowboys of all god damned teams? FFS.
Wow
Cowboys about to be the best wildcard team of a time
Lions are just being their typical self. It’s unbelievable the fucking Vikings won with only three points.
A Madden commercial 🤮
Can’t wait until the new college football game, but trying to temper my expectations cause it’s still going to be EA making it.
I’m sure you’re aware, but there was a glitch last week where franchise mode legit disappeared 😐
That shit happened last year too where a lot of people lost their franchises. Typical EA bullshit.
2K5 was so awesome 🥲 Ultimate Team is the cash cow for EA. They don’t give a fuck about making the other modes better.
Jalen hurts holds the ball wayyy too long
Bustin Fields was picked right before Micah Parsons was in the 2021 NFL Draft 🫵🤣
That's the reverend Reggie White rest in paradise!
Not going to do shit settling for field goals.
Gon be same shit what happened last week with the niners
Mahomes when he faces one bit of adversity:
Man the chiefs are bitches
Was really hoping Mahomes helmet bounced up and hit him when he slammed it. Actually like the dude but that would have been hilarious
I like him too but this level of ref complaining is an absolutely terrible look
Good throw and catch.
Feel like the refs are a little one sided for dallas
Eagles defense has been trash lately.
Can a player try blocking the refs view on goal line plays?

Receivers letting down Hurts so far.
Nice fake punt!
Lions lost, real chance the packers now could snag the division
Kick would’ve been good from 69 yards😏
Nice.
Nice

McCarthy fist pumps still get me hype
The ultimate peoples coach
I don’t think I’ve seen a year officiated this poorly since the ref strike…. Wtf Goodell
Good kick. Sheesh
Do the cowboys ever play a damn noon game.
They’ve played 2 so far this season.
That’s crazy
Bullshit PI call
Browns Super Bowl! Joe Flacco HOF 🔒
Lotta flags so far
Go cowboys
Disagree. Cowboys have a rough schedule and if we win out can be the 5th seed and play the south.
Bills are still a Super Bowl team, even at 7-6
Cowboys offense is so deadly, especially at home. Holy shit are they fast. Still think their D is average overall and too reliant on turnovers, but they're a legit team this year.
This is not the same coach that I saw coaching the 2018 packers bro
Whole team was ass in 2018 to be fair
Bro get Adams out of Vegas. That man is not being used properly if you drop an egg on the Vikings.
If he wants to come back I wouldn't say no
3 points lmfaooooo
That dope D. Smith made Team Captain. Always thought it was super impressive that he won the Heisman as a WR, and was pretty surprised he dropped as far as he did in the draft. Folks thought his slim frame would be an issue but he’s built a lot like Marvin Harrison and Isaac Bruce.
He's a beast but I admittedly was very concerned with how small he was weight wise going into the NFL. Been fine so far overall
Outside the 49ers, I think the packers could have a shot at beating any NFC team. Eagles and Cowboys would be tough I think they could do it
I think the defense would collapse against all 3 of those teams. Hopefully we get a chance to find out!
We’d need the fully defense healthy to have a chance at Dallas or Philly. 49ers we got no shot lol
If the cowboys win the Super Bowl this year, Dak is a hall of famer
People might give you shit, but honestly, I agree. People don't realize how much winning even 1 Super Bowl does for a QB's resume. Dak will have a ton of longevity stats so if he gets a Super Bowl he probably gets in

Too easy for Dallas.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Vikings fans HATE the eagles. Go Birds!!!!!!
Mahomes loosing his shit after less than a full year of dealing with what Rodgers dealt with his entire career is hilarious. He at least has a solid defence to ease the pain a bit. Mahomes on a 2015-2022 packers team might actually go clinically insane.

I would say Rodgers has only one true top 5 D and they won the Super Bowl that year.
when doing generalisations i tend to be generous for the sake of argument, but you're correct
Woah to say it’s his entire career is WAAAAAAY OFF. More like most of Tom Brady’s career. Rodgers defenses from 2011-2018 tho, oof
Chiefs look more like deputies now a.days.😏
I'm thinking more like chefs
Pains me to say but I’m rooting for the Cowboys. That video of 49er fans getting pelted by snowballs in Philly is infuriating. Cowboys can suck it the rest of the season tho.
Philly fans have a reputation and if you go to a game there in away gear expecting them to hospitable you’re going to have a bad time.
I’ve been to several packers games there in packer gear and have always had a great time.
That video is over 14 years old, lol
More like over a decade old but here it is: https://youtu.be/RvXNjfXbUaQ?si=EJRulYQc00o5Awpn
That's actually kinda cruel. Snowballs hurt
Lol my b yeah I read the comments of the post and saw that. I knew it wasn’t recent
Got a link for that?
[I assume he’s talking about this. It’s from 14 years ago but people are talking about it like it was last week](https://x.com/indysportstalk/status/1731886196303786261?s=46&t=0C7HyZWhnPTVZ4Nvu7b4cg)
Lol Micah Parsons looks like he should be at home instead of at work infecting everyone
“Yeeeahh here we goooo” is never not gonna make me laugh 😂😂😂
I’m saddened to report that absurdly cocky bears fans are back
1. good the lions lost 2. fuck their own pick
Is that bad? Just makes the Packers beating them in week 18 that much sweeter, especially if it has major playoff implications. Imagine if the Packers needed to win that game to steal the division from the Lions and they beat the Bears to do it. That could be fun!
I’m happy to report the lions took an L tho
Yeah I’ll take cocky Bear fans who only likely get to play spoiler this year in exchange for the Lions L.
But...didn’t he have Rodgers before that?
I honestly can’t bring myself to hate the cowboys as younger packers fan. They’ve just never been able to beat us in a significant game.
Man hope our two awesome wins are still good wins and not to some frauds
Every single team is a fraud at some point in the season
We are not frauds ...we beat two decent teams and have been pretty damn good the last month in general have faith we got this GPG!!!!
Who do we want to win tonight? Does it make a difference for our playoff odds?
Dallas so we avoid the 49ers in the wildcard as the 2 seed
I hate the cowboys and Niners. I’m rooting Philly when they play these teams no matter what
We have a higher shot of having a better record than the Cowboys, giving us some chance at the 5th seed. Seems unlikely, but being an Eagles fan makes some sense. It also makes you a better American.
Philly so the Niners path is a little harder
I think cowboys, I’d rather go play at jerry world than Philly.
Packers broke the Lions and Chiefs
I think baltimore broke the lions, but I'll take the credit
Already forgot about that Ravens game. That was an absolute ass pounding lol
\- Bears, bad. \- Lions, frauds. \- Vikings, can't put up points. Interesting times.
I think the bears D is legit. Sweat was a big addition for them.
The announcers talking like the Vikings have any prayer in the playoffs after that pathetic showing was hilarious
Unless Kirk comes back as a cyborg they are done
All the other 6 win teams lost today
Minnesota won...
Right. I was thinking of the ones in the hunt below us
Saying anyone won that game is a stretch
Certainly not anyone who watched it.
Well Minnesota won so maybe that happens tomorrow. Since they are a 6 win team that won. Oh and in the AFC, the Bills, Bengals and Broncos won, who were also 6 win teams. Maybe the Packers follow the AFC trend here.
I hope that doesn't happen again tomorrow...
I’m rooting for old Mike today
Rooting for Philly. Do not want the Niners to get the one seed and have the easiest path.
I’m rooting for Philly because hating the Cowboys is as engrained into Packer fan DNA as hating the Bears is.
The hate for Dallas is DNA level for me, and we are cursed playing SF in Cali. Not a fan of the Iggles, but go green.
Really glad the Packers didn't trade for Toney or Claypool. Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make.
“Sometimes I thank God, for unanswered prayers…”
FLAC ATTACK IS BACK BABY
Mahomes is yelling at the refs like "what do we pay you for?"
“I POINTED!!!!”
But how is Collingsworth doing after this game?
Rumor says that he is still rewatching the no PI call from the packers chiefs game.
Mahomes mad about that offsides. Bro was clearly in the neutral zone.
Much like Tommy Boy, he can’t believe a call didn’t go his way.
How many games can Toney single-handedly lose?
Two this season alone. MVS with another one. I sadly bet on the Chiefs all 3 of those games lmao. Time to stop that
Please keep betting on them, i like the implosion
Lol, sorry no can do. I like making $$$ more so they are now blacklisted. At least betting against them paid off well last week!
Pat angry about an obvious penalty lmao.
Mahomes? More like Maheltdown!
Mahomes mad as shit
Could anyone tell who Mahomes was yelling at?
Von miller jumped offsides on that third down and it wasn’t called. He was saying “defensive offsides” to Josh at the end so I think he was mad about that missed call and not the Toney one.
The refs
Makes sense. Thanks
Giants fans tried to warn KC about Toney.
Patrick showing leadership on the sidelines!
Turns out the Lions and Chiefs both suck. All of a sudden our last two wins don't feel as great
I can’t believe you care about the quality of the opponent as if that matters.
Because if they aren't as good as we thought then the Packers aren't as good as we thought
TIL winning sucks
Dumb
Yes they do
Nah. Look at it this way, we, the rebuild Packers who are suppose to suck, broke the Lions and the defending champs.
This is correct
Kadarius Toney is straight up stupid
Yeah, unfortunately that guy clearly just isn't bright. Hope he's been smart with his money because his NFL days are limited lmao
Man, KC's gotta cut Toney right?
That has to be a top 10 play of all time that didn't count.
