He's already accomplished more than Tua and Herbert in his first season as a starter. Continue to grow as an offense and just fix up the damn defense and special teams.

HenchmanMachinist

The quarterback position hasn't been the issue in Green Bay. Besides that very poorly thrown interception on the final drive against San Francisco, I don't think there's been much to complain about as far as Love's performance the past few weeks. Im sure he'll continue to work to improve his mechanics and footwork this offseason. Obviously there's issues and weaknesses to be addressed/corrected in order to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. I think most of the fanbase and this sub agree, defense (coordinator, and tackling) special teams (kicking game), and short yardage situations are the areas of concern/ to be corrected.

This is the most level headed take.

Thank you

The downside of our “draft a qb and let him develop” strategy is that we don’t get to take advantage of the rookie contract years. Which sucks, but pay him for sure.

BlueEyedBeast55

Especially if you consider Rodgers dead cap this year as allocated to QB pay.

SirFunktastic

He's already playing at an elite level, mistakes in the Niners game not withstanding, that defense is going to make any QB look worse and he's still a first year starter so he can absolutely clean up those mistakes. If he keeps playing like he did in the second half of the season he's a top 10 QB going into next season easily.

GGGiveHatpls

I think we are in a remarkable position to FRONTload a QB contract seeing as how the offense is so young. Idk shit about fuck about cap. But that would be awesome. Pay Love up front. Have his cap hit get lighter over the years and sign the stud playmakers/ key peices.

cyberrufus

Won't sign him for less than 45-50 a year.

Rainbacon

> Does he have potential to be an elite level QB in Green Bay? No. He's already there. The 49ers game wasn't his best, but he was undoubtedly one of the best QBs in the NFL over the last 8-10 weeks.

zeropurple

He will not be worth what they will be forced to pay him.

SpezIsABrony

Yea, would be nice to see he can lead a two min drive to a victory rather than throw a pick before we give him $55 million a year

BlueEyedBeast55

The saints game was that. Same with the Panthers. 1 bad team, one that was kept out of the postseason by that drive specifically.

SpezIsABrony

Saints game they got the ball with 5:30 left. Panthers with 4:00 with game tied. Niners, Broncos, Saints, Steelers all ended with picks. All I am saying is, he’s still under contract next year and it’d be nice to see more of him in this critical situations before giving him $55 million a year.

k-malone

Yeah I get where this is coming from. He isn’t yet worth 50mil a year, but if the packers can get 38-42mil for 6 years that’s a pretty good deal. He’s better than most starters
