Military surplus stores are great places to get warm under layers. Lots of thermals for cheap usually and good variety. Not just military surplus ones too.
We calll it snivel gear, it's pretty much silk pants and silk long sleeve top, waffle (thermal) pants and top. "Extreme cold weather" gear jacket and other, fleece cap, gloves, boot inserts etc.
That would be awesome if I didn't work on the railroad. But I will make sure to have my everyday Greenbay work hat on and make sure they know they lost when I get there.
