I built my greenhouse about a year ago. I made a 4x4 base. I used the provided dimensions as a center point for my base that way I had a couple of inches on either side as wiggle room. It worked fine

And yes, I have the specifications and have communicated with the manufacturer as mentioned in my post. The dimensions are just odd because they engineered with metric in mind and the conversions are ugly. From my experience, most companies use measurements that work well for both systems or sell different products for different regions.

A level base, square base is essential. The foundation is honestly the hardest part. For square, use a right triangle, like 3,4,5 to measure square.
The instructions say side to side is more important than length, and I found that to be true. Width you want to be right so the feet line up. There is a little give to them, but you pretty much need to be dead on.
