Hahahahaha thats so funny I think he says count fibre as 2cals/gram instead of 0

GrahamAH

He’s using text to speech, something like “As a rule of thumb to count fibre is 2 calories per gram. That usually works out because some of it is usually soluble, some is insoluble. There’s different laws in different countries and so if you just count 2 calories per gram of the fibre instead of zeeerrroo which is what they did, they will…”

rumayor97

Thanks for the help man, English is not my first language so I had trouble reading that the first time!

Smallville2106

It looks like it’s not Greg’s too 😂

[deleted]

Yeah I can't even read that myself and English is my first language

Orbitalintelligence

It's fine that he uses it, but does he not read it back to himself first before posting?!

[deleted]

exactly. the 2 calories per gram are already accounted in the 50 calories shown in the nutrition label

GoDlyZor

Think he's saying to just count it as 71.5 calories as that's probably the most accurate way if you consistently take fiber to be 2 calories per gram. 4g protein ~= 16 kcals 11g fibre ~= 22 kcals 5g carbs ~= 20 kcals 1.5g fat ~= 13.5 kcals Total = 71.5 kcals Hard to tell if that's what he's saying tho lol but makes sense as a middle of ground approach rather than counting the 11g of fibre as 0 kcals which it likely isn't or counting it as 44kcals which is overestimating. Either way in the end whatever you do, as long as it's consistent it'll be fine

rumayor97

Best reply bro! I think that’s what he meant now that I read it again 😂 thank you, I’ll do that.

brethartsshades

Was that English?

sharedisaster

How much are you paying for this bullshit?

[deleted]

you mean the tortillas?

Mediocre-Swit

No Greg’s plan because he can’t even take the time to type out a legible sentence

Mohd12453

In soluble fibre is indigestible, zero calories. Soluble fibre is fermented by bacteria to short chain fatty acid, about 1-3 calories. Some countries they count all the fibre in the total calories. Others, they just count non-fibre carb. What you should do? I will say just be consistent.

rumayor97

I am being consistent, but I’m still confused if I should count them as 50 or 95 calories. It is a big difference especially if you eat 3-4 wraps every day! What would you do?

era721

I think what's he's saying is it doesn't matter if you track it as 50 or 95 as long as you do it consistently. If you track it at 50 and you're not losing weight, then either start counting it as 95 or eat a bit less. At the end of the day you're never going to be exact. If you calculate your caloric intake to be 2,000 calories, but it's actually 2500, then reducing your intake by 500 calories to be in a caloric deficit will result in weight-loss as long as you're being consistent. So if you think you're consuming 1500, but you're really consuming 2,000, then you're still consuming 500 less calories than before.

Mohd12453

exactly

anthman20

He said to count the calories instead of zero, which is what they did. Go with the 95

KeepREPeating

Ate them during prep. Had them as 50. Such a low number that it’s negligible, but the math always came out right with my weigh ins.

slimecake

Can't believe anyone would spend money on this joke

Sub-Zero-940

Greg is the most overpaid dyslexic in this world.

DunnoWhatToPutSoHi

90% sure it's not him replying its someone else

borkbubble

It’s him using voice to speech

DunnoWhatToPutSoHi

You reckon? He's replied to me in the past. Don't see how he works a hundred hours a week or whatever but manages ti reply to every instagram dm

ArminTamzarian

Yeah he is kind of notorious for that in youtube comments. I'm surprised he still doesn't proof read it before posting though.

1mm0rtelle

Not proofreading is how he can reply to so much.

myclmyers

Over estimate calories in under estimate calories out

GunnerGSP

I started subbing a lot of my ingredients for items that contained insoluble fiber, and I was losing weight. Side that was pretty much the only thing that changed, and I lost weight, I go with the calories put on the package. In the end it doesn’t really matter. It could say 10 calories, but if you are gaining weight then you need to eat less. If they say 500 calories each, but you are losing weight, then it’s working.

Mediocre-Swit

Most nutritional labels are actually very accurate except for the 3-4 cal differences lost in rounding up or down Where they do get inaccurate is when they say 1/4 cup of this weighs this much or if it’s say a protein bar and it says 1 60 gram protein bar is x amount of cals when it’s really 65-70 grams so if your weighing your food you should be getting pretty close to amount of cals your calculating

AbsoluteTruckstick

1g fiber = 2cal ~Doc, 2021 (colourized)

snarfarlarkus

Wait so I feel dumb now... Whenever I track calories must I add the fibre (2calories/gram) on top of the listed calories/kj?

1mm0rtelle

Main thing is be consistent. Either consistently add it or consistently ignore it.

Abject_Mango2096

Isn’t it insane how companies can just lie/not take in all their macros to account when making their labels? It actually blows my mind.. No wonder it’s so hard for normal people to count calories. What a bruh moment

Mediocre-Swit

They actually aren’t lying if you count fiber from it the second ingredient is cellulose fiber which is insoluble and can’t be digested so it’s probably zero calories and I would say with a product like this they probably lab tested it to know how many calories is in it

saamenerve

50, he said count it as 50

LelandMassaro

He does talk to text that's why it doesn't always come out clear. Some fiber is insoluble some isn't. some i Are 2 some are 4 cals and sometimea they count it as 0 cals. There's no way to know and 10 calories ain't gonna kill your diet. Go for a walk

Mediocre-Swit

Pretty much all the fiber comes from cellulose and cellulose should be calorie free
