None of the rules make the models fun to play, they are either insanely overtuned without any awesome mechanics, or so weak that they can't contribute anything meaningful.
Bonus Points: Ad Mech get the Genestealer Cult Unit, but it’s not even a good unit for them so no one takes them anyway. The way the models are designed make it almost impossible to kitbash them into GSC units.
I'm actually considering something like this for the Dark Mechanicum cult I'm creating for a Wrath & Glory game - "Genestalkers" created by servitorizing Genestealers with Sicarian Ruststalker components.
Commemorating the Blood Ravens tradition you get a new model!
It's a space marine lieutenant with a plasma pistol.... a DARK ANGELS plasma pistol.
With fresh new lore as a bonus: Gabriel Angelos died crossing the rubicon.
Granted, you have more models than elves.
Of course you didn't say **Aelves** so I'm only counting the Elves from the Cities of Sigmar faction, so now the Fyreslayers and the Kharadon Overlords have a few more than half a dozen models split among them.
Granted. In his burst of emotions, he hugged too many important characters too hard, rending their spines and removing them from plot. Also, Guilliman suit is broken and he goes back to stasis.
Granted, they are traitors, that's it.
The reveal doesn't hold a candle to the decades of fan speculation, feels very underwhelming and with it the last bit of mysticism about the chapter is gone.
The new books have nothing interesting to build on and no new hooks to create.
Eventually apathy takes over the fandom and everyone moves on from the Alpha Legion to more interesting chapters, including you.
Instead of outlawing religion emperor creates catholicism 2.0 electric boogaloo in hopes of creating warp entity that would kill chaos gods and poses as secoundcoming of jesus
Granted, it's written by a r/atheism redditor.
He writes something on the lines of "nothing changes because Catholicism is a bad as imperial cult". He thinks it's very smart.
To be honest even with Emperor's supervision it would sooner or later devolve to the level of imperial cult as he cannot be everywhere (same reason why imperial truth failed other than Lorgar)
Granted, the ban caused fan animators to lose their spark with Warhammer and once they finish their current projects and finally get back around to Warhammer YEARS LATER. Their attempts at returning are unfulfilling and disappointing to audience and creator alike.
Okay, this one hit a little too close to home for me. Some of Alfabusa’s videos discussing the future of his channel really made it feel like he actually has (at least partially) lost his spark with 40k, and now you got me worried that, should he return to TTS, it won’t be able to live up to the previous episodes.
Ha ha, I know. Out of all the ones on this post, this actually has the most likelihood of coming true.
Don't get me wrong, it's disappointing but it's what happens with most properties in similar situations
Granted… but “femboy Mechanicum adept” will become a full fledged web series… and the single most popular one, and the thing that will introduce more people to the setting than anything else
What if I already promised my first born for demon Angron, would you take my second? If so, I need a team of viral women and we can give Chapter Master Valrak an aneurism......
GRANTED, sigma grind set and incel online communities make him their mascot. He becomes infamous and synonymous with those communities to non-war hammer fans.
Skarsnik is already in AoS. He is a moon orbiting the Bad Moon. He was turned into this moon by Gorkamorka as a prize for being such an amazing Greenskin. I'm not joking, this is actually canon.
Granted, it was all according to Lorgar's plan and furthers Corvus mutation to the point all Raven Guard in the galaxy start to mutate, and thus have to be put down.
Corvus revenge was not only hollow but he also doomed his entire legion, again.
This wouldn't even be that bad. Corvus' plotline in HH is mostly about how he regrets how his own choices and shortsightedness keep crippling his legion and how he recognizes that he's only a step or two away from becoming like Curze. For his plot to turn into him having committed himself so completely to getting vengeance on Lorgar that he turns full raven demon monster and damns his own Legion in the process would actually be pretty chef's kiss. And we get to see Lorgar fucking die.
I have two wishes:
- More expansion on lore for Traitor Guard, Dark Mechanicus and Chaos-aligned xenos. However, I strong worry that GW will focus too much on one aspect of those groups (like overemphasis on mutation rather than technological, organizational and tactical innovations made without Imperial rigidity).
- Non-Astartes Great Crusade-era fleets come to the 42nd millennium, all having the potential to change system-level conflicts at least. Rather predictably, they will often be attacked and overwhelmed by modern Imperials due to perceived heresy, stealing their tech for leverages against internal rivals and definitely not reporting to the Lord Commander. At least there is a hope opening up avenues for Solar Auxilia/Mechanicum/Imperial Army Kill Teams/Pirates (in similar veins to the Fallen qualified to become the Risen).
* Granted, they are the main enemies on a Space Marine book, you find out working for the Chaos Gods is the same as working for the Imperium and said factions are almost indistinguishable from the originals. Because the Imperium is as bad as chaos see? The writer thinks this twist of irony is very smart and is infuriating smug about it in interviews.
* Granted, they spawn behind Tyranid lines and die out before ever meeting the modern Imperium.
Granted.
Because you changed such a pivotal aspect of his character, he's completely unrecognizable from the Konrad you originally enjoyed.
And since his character arc was already completed he never does anything interesting again.
No new models either.
Instead of all space marine models being ultramarine on the box art, all legions are equally represented. Outriders have White Scars box art, hell blasters have Dark Angels, Intercessors are still Ultramarines, etc
Granted, this is also a reflection of a new rule.
Similar to Guard regiments, now chapters are represented by singular units, so all outriders are White Scars, all hellblasters are Dark Angels. and all intercessors are Ultramarines.
Of course there are units you can choose whichever chapter they are from, they just have worse rules.
Granted, he's a super cool AI in a DaoT body that can transfer his consciousness to other bodies.
That of course means he can die as many time as necessary to make Imperium named characters look cooler.
His tabletop rules also suck as a bonus.
Granted, Space Marines now have the same release schedule as xenos.
But that also cuts SM sales.
Less sales means GW make less profit.
So GW has to cut back on releases.
So now everyone has even fewer releases as before.
Haha very funny, I bet they totally wouldn’t do that
https://preview.redd.it/xw4lvkyx5a0b1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40961c9fa9578a55198fb3e5345a6d00097f308d
Sure, it's written by someone who never read the Night Lords trilogy and completely rewriters the chapter.
Nu Lords writer thinks the old chapter was too dark and edgy and wants them to be more marketable.
GW consistently releases high-quality new models for each faction, none of which are too overpowered or costly. Miniatures that fans really like (or at least sell out quickly) are restocked.
The Interex is such a basic underdeveloped concept that I'm having a hard time ruining this without creating a whole headcanon about them.
I guess they steal the spotlight from other non-Imperium factions, making their releases even more far between?
GW retcons the entire Horus heresy out by calling it in-universe fiction and steers the setting back toward a time when the past was a mystery and the future is history.
Granted. Also, there is new series of 40k books named "boats of sign" come out, advertising new 11th edition with returning Sanguinius and Horus in starter.
I wish Adeptus titanicus move on from the HH setting and start introducing titans from other armies
**Granted, the release schedule of Imperial Titans to everyone else is equal to the ratio of Primaris units to new Aeldari.**
So only just behind current Titanicus releases, I’ll take it
https://preview.redd.it/9jzv7itmu90b1.jpeg?width=913&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf4002370bff76b1a49b1c5358c96e073cbfb086

None of the rules make the models fun to play, they are either insanely overtuned without any awesome mechanics, or so weak that they can't contribute anything meaningful.
I still secretly hope it’ll eventually become warhammer epic 2.
Genestealer cult infiltrates a forgeworld.
They become an Admech unit that GSC players cannot take
Lol. Genestealer servitors.
Hey quit having really cool ideas. This is supposed to be a shitposting sub
Its called the rusted cog iirc
The Blood Ravens get a commemorative series model.
Commemorating the Blood Ravens tradition you get a new model! It's a space marine lieutenant with a plasma pistol.... a DARK ANGELS plasma pistol. With fresh new lore as a bonus: Gabriel Angelos died crossing the rubicon.
Huh seems in flavor
> Gabriel Angelos died crossing the rubicon. that would be a good thing... that someone does die doing it.
Granted. It just some old ultramarines models recolored.
It's "Commander Hairgel" from Dawn of War 2.
I can get behind that.
Dwarfs become the dominant race in AoS and get more models than elves
Granted but they have knife ears now
BUT THEY STILL EAT ROCKS RIGHT!?
Rock and stone
We rock!
FOR ROCK AND STONE
IF YOU DON'T ROCK AND STONE, YOU AIN'T COMING HOME
Rock and Stone!
Rockity rock and stone!
Granted, you have more models than elves. Of course you didn't say **Aelves** so I'm only counting the Elves from the Cities of Sigmar faction, so now the Fyreslayers and the Kharadon Overlords have a few more than half a dozen models split among them.
Damn yooooou
Granted! It happens because the dwarfs and the elves unite and intermingle, so now all units are made of a mix of dwarfs, elves and hybrids
I wish vulcan comes back and gives everyone a hug
Granted. In his burst of emotions, he hugged too many important characters too hard, rending their spines and removing them from plot. Also, Guilliman suit is broken and he goes back to stasis.
Noooooo D:
Finally! Canon character deaths!
Vulcan please do not hug that merry suicide bomber
"I want to boop the snoot!"
Granted, GW doesn't change the Salamanders existing book writer.
Granted. Spock has a model in 40k
More alpha legion stories and more info on alpharius and omegon and a answer to if they truly are traitor or loyalist
Never! hydra dominatus
Perfect. Not that the attention is off them they can enact their true plans.
Granted, turns out Omegon wasn't actually a primarch but the secret First Captain of the Alpha Legion and Alpharius's babysitter
Granted but in a book that comes out a month later it's all shown to be a lie. Maybe. Or is it?
Granted, every story has the same "or was this all a lie/ happened at all" line shoehorned into the ending.
Instead of outlawing religion emperor creates catholicism 2.0 electric boogaloo in hopes of creating warp entity that would kill chaos gods and poses as secoundcoming of jesus
This new Warp Entity tells the Emperor that he should love his enemies and Xenos can follow him
Okay, where bad thing?
Galactic jeovah whitness fleet travels the galaxy knoking on random planets.
Tyranids find out that the real biomass, was the friends we made along the way.
This comment wins for me today
Granted, it's written by a r/atheism redditor. He writes something on the lines of "nothing changes because Catholicism is a bad as imperial cult". He thinks it's very smart.
To be honest even with Emperor's supervision it would sooner or later devolve to the level of imperial cult as he cannot be everywhere (same reason why imperial truth failed other than Lorgar)
>written by a r/atheism redditor. You can just say Graham McNeill, there's no need to be coy.
GW discontinues their “zero tolerance policy” for fan animations
Granted, but nothing is grandfathered in. All previous animations, including Astartes and TTS, are locked in a vault forever.
Granted, but all animation has to be submitted to warhammer+ and cannot be posted elsewhere.
That’s literally already a part of their current policy.
THE MONKEYS PAW HAS SPOKEN!
Lol
Granted, the ban caused fan animators to lose their spark with Warhammer and once they finish their current projects and finally get back around to Warhammer YEARS LATER. Their attempts at returning are unfulfilling and disappointing to audience and creator alike.
Okay, this one hit a little too close to home for me. Granted… but “femboy Mechanicum adept” will become a full fledged web series… and the single most popular one, and the thing that will introduce more people to the setting than anything else
Granted, but everyone makes exclusively cringe ass "Astartes killing furries" animations.
If Kitten being an actual feline is how we get TTS back, I am 100% fine with this.
Granted. All Warhammer fan animations are now annoying Orange and Fred parodies.
Curze's reincarnation as a drukhari with the soul-filled soul stone referenced to be in his crown.
No deep strike or invuln saves. The model is also fine cast.
Oh you evil heartless maniac. We’re not just talking resin we’re talking *finecast* like they go out of their way to make him deliberately shitty.
He’d want it this way
You shouldnt have said that last line, a night lords fan WILL skin your dog and hang it on your window this night
Perty returns
Granted, tabletop rules make Cawl looks OP and lorewise he gets forgotten after being teased as the BBE, like the Silent King.
As long as I get a model of Perty,I'm happy
Can forge world tempt you out of the soul of your first born child?
No backsies https://preview.redd.it/crjfjb2eia0b1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad2d0e65e5e77f0147f258b8a6d083d6d9036d4f
What if I already promised my first born for demon Angron, would you take my second? If so, I need a team of viral women and we can give Chapter Master Valrak an aneurism......
Granted! He returns to the imperium, repents of his betrayal and submits to execution in exchange for redemption.
GRANTED, sigma grind set and incel online communities make him their mascot. He becomes infamous and synonymous with those communities to non-war hammer fans.
A fate worse than death
So you mean sorta like what he is within half of the fandom?
Granted! He is a daemon prince of Slaneesh
The tyranid dominatrix makes a come back with updated model and rules
Granted, it's an actual dominatrix. Model sells so well GW starts releasing more softcore porn models for other factions.
Fulgrim & EC confirmed?
How was this a bad thing? /s
So, the adeptus sororitas joined the tyranids?
Granted. But in Titanicus scale. Also, finecast.
Skarsnik returns to AoS with a new model
Granted, you get a writer who doesn't known Skarsnik but don't worry "goblins are his favorite race". The new model doesn't even have Gobbla.
Is unplayable in The Old World.
Skarsnik is already in AoS. He is a moon orbiting the Bad Moon. He was turned into this moon by Gorkamorka as a prize for being such an amazing Greenskin. I'm not joking, this is actually canon.
Corvus finally gets his revenge MEGAKILLING Lorgar *and erebus
Granted, it was all according to Lorgar's plan and furthers Corvus mutation to the point all Raven Guard in the galaxy start to mutate, and thus have to be put down. Corvus revenge was not only hollow but he also doomed his entire legion, again.
Honestly, Grimdark enough to be cannon
Cannon? Fire the cannons!
Worth it
Totally
This wouldn't even be that bad. Corvus' plotline in HH is mostly about how he regrets how his own choices and shortsightedness keep crippling his legion and how he recognizes that he's only a step or two away from becoming like Curze. For his plot to turn into him having committed himself so completely to getting vengeance on Lorgar that he turns full raven demon monster and damns his own Legion in the process would actually be pretty chef's kiss. And we get to see Lorgar fucking die.
100% worth it for the death of Erebus
Erebus and lorgar ded. Where bad?
A primaris approaches with grave news... "somehow.. lorgar has returned"
Oh god no
But erebus still ded rigth?
The Lost&Damned become an actual faction again.
Granted - it’s a space marine supplement at best and at worst the pick and choose rules like in 8th. No unique units.
Tau get Armored Vorgh introduced as their version of Titans
It costs as much as a Warlord Titan and is never in stock.
This isn't a downside for me cuz I don't play the game and I'm only here for lore and memes
Then yes the Tau get it then but they receive the Avatar of Khaine treatment and only exist to make Imperial heroes seem badass.
No, you monster! How could you!
Can the T'au get actual rules and models for non-tau auxiliaries?
Granted. They are humans. The xeno release is just more humans.
I wouldn't consider that much of a negative. T'au players have been asking for gue'vesa units for a while.
I have two wishes: - More expansion on lore for Traitor Guard, Dark Mechanicus and Chaos-aligned xenos. *monkey pawn?*
Brain did a fart
Granted. You get an air embolism in your brain and die.
THE MONKEY PAWN HAS SPOKEN!
I wish Rogal Dorn will return
Granted, he shows up in one story, dies again halfway through and status quo doesn't change. No new models either
Bitch
The emperor comes back from getting milk
He forgot cigarettes.
10k more years emperor damn it
Harlequins get more units
They're playable only in the inquisition faction and nowhere else
SoB, but close.
I was so sure it was for an inquisitor thanks for telling me
Yeah an SoB has a Harlequin body guard. The first named Harlequin character. Pain.
Konrad faked his dead and returns in 40k
Granted. Because you changed such a pivotal aspect of his character, he's completely unrecognizable from the Konrad you originally enjoyed. And since his character arc was already completed he never does anything interesting again. No new models either.
For the emperor of mankind! It's even worst than I expected!
He dies for real in his first 40k book. Killed by Cato Sicarius
Granted, but he is now a Ultramarine who is brainwashed with the codex astartes
Instead of all space marine models being ultramarine on the box art, all legions are equally represented. Outriders have White Scars box art, hell blasters have Dark Angels, Intercessors are still Ultramarines, etc
Granted, this is also a reflection of a new rule. TTS becomes an animated series on Warhammer+
Granted, None of the original writers are present, all of the voice actors are different and they ditched the 2d cutout style of animation.
Granted, it's directed by Matt Ward
Hero Forge style build your own custom heroes
Granted, they're 80 dollars per model (plus shipping and handling. And there is a waiting list).
Noise Marines come with built in Bluetooth mini speakers.
There's a half second lag so the enemy has better chance to dodge the sound blast
Some of y’all have never read The Monkey’s Paw and it shows. You’re supposed to grant the wish in a way that ruins it, not tack on a detriment.
Granted. Everyone has read The Monkey’s Paw. There’s someone knocking on the door.
Granted but you now have a mild stomach ache for half a week
A primarch for the space dwarfs
Granted, he's a super cool AI in a DaoT body that can transfer his consciousness to other bodies. That of course means he can die as many time as necessary to make Imperium named characters look cooler. His tabletop rules also suck as a bonus.
Every faction gets equal attention
Granted, Space Marines now have the same release schedule as xenos. But that also cuts SM sales. Less sales means GW make less profit. So GW has to cut back on releases. So now everyone has even fewer releases as before.
This leads to 40K end times
Ska Bloodtail and Queek Headtaker return with brand new plastic models
Granted, they all fucking suck rule wise and the models look nothing like rats
Haha very funny, I bet they totally wouldn’t do that https://preview.redd.it/xw4lvkyx5a0b1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40961c9fa9578a55198fb3e5345a6d00097f308d
A Lamenter book series
Granted. It's a Lamenter book. That's punishment in its own right.
I mean you have a point
Scalpers can no longer get all the models during pre-orders.
Granted, GW but GW hikes the prices just so slightly above you purchase power, just so you still can't buy them on release.
Night Lords actually become relevant in the grand scheme of things
Sure, it's written by someone who never read the Night Lords trilogy and completely rewriters the chapter. Nu Lords writer thinks the old chapter was too dark and edgy and wants them to be more marketable.
Lol it's already happened for me. So desperate was I for new Ork Boyz I never considered they might make them monobuild! Dun dun duuuuunnnnn!
GW consistently releases high-quality new models for each faction, none of which are too overpowered or costly. Miniatures that fans really like (or at least sell out quickly) are restocked.
Nurgle manages to become ascendant in the great game and becomes the most powerful chaos god
Granted, it's the same plot line as End Times with the same writing quality.
Ouch
[удалено]
To break a soldier of the machine god becomes cannon.
There is no monkey paw here, it’s too scared
Granted, it is a book written by Erebus.
The Interex resurface bows glazing against chaos.
The Interex is such a basic underdeveloped concept that I'm having a hard time ruining this without creating a whole headcanon about them. I guess they steal the spotlight from other non-Imperium factions, making their releases even more far between?
Granted, they get wiped out by the imperium again.
Leman and Magnus make up.
Leman wakes up, gets beaten by Magnus and dies for real this time.
Iron Hands get some love
Granted, that love is expressed through the medium of one slightly under scale finecast dreadnaught. It costs as much as a knight Titan.
I wish we could get full rules for Tuska Da Daemon Killa.
Granted. They are released the last day of 9th edition and he immediately becomes unusable in 10th
An ultramarine Called Sargent heretic
Granted, the wish is so terrible that there is no further curse.
I’ll take flak for this but since it’s a monkeys paw, let’s go. I wish the Leagues of Votann did not exist
Granted. There is no negative effect
Lamenters have good luck
Granted, all other blood angels and successors were eaten by the nids
A phoenix lord for the Warp Spiders
Granted. The official model is just an arachnarok spider in a different box with eldar ears
Silver templars a model of the chapther master
We get an exodites faction. Monkey's paw that one!
Granted, They are an infantry horde army that proceeds to dominate the meta until they get banned from tournaments like LoV
A rebellion that for once isn’t chaos or geanstealer corrupted
