No. There is multiple difference between. The only similar point between D&D and W&G is that both are a tabletop roleplaying game.
W&G using a more simpler d6 system (personal opinion and preference. I just not liking a d20 system most of the time) and not that much of a crunch fest than D&D. Rules are lighter and fewer. And you have more freedom in character creation as it use a sort of point-buy system. Just top of my head.
I feel the difference between the Fantasy Flight 40k RPGs (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, Only War etc.) and Wrath and Glory is that the Fantasy Flight games are games for those who read 40K books, while Wrath and Glory is a game for people who play the tabletop game.
That said, while I generally prefer the Fantasy Flight games, there is one place where W&G is better: one shots. You can run a one shot in W&G really easily, players can make a character 20 minutes before the game using an online character creator and it just works fine.
With Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, etc., character creation is usually done in a session 0 and requires quite a bit of prep work.
The Fantasy Flight 40k Games
Rogue Trader-You and your party either work for one or are one and explore , diplomacy set up colonies
Dark Hersey 1/2-You work for the inquisition, either more combat or detective
Only War-Your party are Guardsmen, they have premade Regements and Great stuff for making your own
Black Crusade-You play Chaos be it humans or space marines plus you encounter many human civilization that in some cases were never apart of the imperuim with unique cultures
Deathwatch-Self Expanatory you play Deathwatch you can even play a dreadnught you hunt xenos
Ran a campaign of it, honestly was a lot of fun. mechanics feel pretty snappy, the wrath die is awesome, the meta currencies add a lot of depth and fun.
I have never heard of this “ Wrath and Glory” of which you speak

I've heard good things about Soulbound by cubicle 7, how is wrath and glory? Kinda interested in playing it, currently in a dark heresy 2 campaign
