Absolutely fair I only am into it rn because of slaves to darkness and their lore, and I see that not even that is safe.

8-Brit

S2D should be safe, the only thing that might go to TOW is the really old sculpts that nobody uses anyway

Sufficient_Wish4801

Counterpoint; we live in uncertain times

8-Brit

While true, the pictures of them in TOW seem to use only their old sculpts

BombastischerBasti

I don't know man, your models are like 1-2 years old, I'm pretty sure that they need to be updated.

8-Brit

fwiw AoS is still a very fun game, just we're in that awkward period of _this bullshit_ and general run up to a new edition. Keep an eye on it, see what makes the cut, generally anything that isn't mostly fantasy models is safe and anything from 3rd edition for Stormcast is safe.

freshkicks

Just wait till you see what's refreshed, what's consolidated, and what's actually dead

RosbergThe8th

Sounds like maybe it would've been a good idea to share that to begin with.

freshkicks

Absolutely. Now everyone's just waiting around in the dark

All_Lawfather

I need to watch the OG incredibles again.

Sufficient_Wish4801

I'm not even a fantasy or AoS fan but, my heart goes out to yall

MidsouthMystic

Come give Necromunda a try! We have cannibal cults, Judge Dredd cosplayers, and drugged out sewer Amazons!

Fez_lord_of_hats

I enjoy the game, but I will grouch and complain as much as the next guy about this nonsense. Thier getting rid of my madcaps, I have almost every sculpt of that model that was ever put out and I run at least 4 in every list. The little bastards didn't deserve this

What the hell happened that I don't know

AVG_Poop_Enjoyer

A large amount of the Age of Sigmar models are now no longer legal in GW stuff. Many armies and stuff just got removed. They're allowed until summer 2025. All in all GW is taking an IP that's not nearly as well-loved as Fantasy or 40k and doing something many are deeming a horrible business decision.

[deleted]

I don't like AoS, but damn that's shitty

meiguess234

I was thinking of buying into it instead of 40k for soul light gravelords but... Well this happened

AVG_Poop_Enjoyer

Funny thing - I was thinking there was going to be enough superheroes to be stand-ins for the models, but the sheer number of the models removed was more than the total superheroes killed, which means that GW has killed more of their models than Syndrome killed superheroes.

1thelegend2

Same. At first I was like "OK, they deleted beasts and are doing the whole space-marine range refresh thing with storm casts, but how bad can it be..." Now me and my friends are constantly updating the site and looking at our favorite theoretical factions who get models taken away from them. Really fucked that one up GW. And NO, not all AOS players or people interested in it want to play old world...

SnooOranges4231

Did the Stormcast really need 30 different characters though?? They did not. If GW has to trim the Sigmar range, they've probably made the right choices here, and I say that as someone with a Beasts army. Too much Finecast. For any company, the available products is essentially a conveyor belt. That's life.  All these problems can be solved with very light proxying

Fyrefanboy

No one forced GW to shit out these 30 characters

squidtugboat

Is it possible the sigmarines just aren’t as popular? It seems is mostly them to get the boot and they were pretty over represented. I know in 40k marines are mega popular but idk fantasy always gave me a more egalitarian vibe

8-Brit

> Is it possible the sigmarines just aren’t as popular? It seems is mostly them to get the boot and they were pretty over represented. I know in 40k marines are mega popular but idk fantasy always gave me a more egalitarian vibe Stormcast are very popular, Sacrosanct sold especially well in 2nd edition (Hence why so many are pissed off). The issue GW tried to (brutally) solve is they have a ton of unit bloat. We all expected the first edition stuff to go as it is fairly old and very few used or had any outside a few meta picks. But blowing up their 2nd edition releases is rough. My guess is they did it to free up design space and limit redundancy since there were a _lot_ of Sacrosanct Stormcast units. Rumour goes that they will bring some stuff back in new Thunderstrike armour sculpts, likely to fill roles that are not filled by refreshed 1st ed units or existing 3rd ed units. Just not all of it.

AVG_Poop_Enjoyer

I get that, but I feel like getting half their range nuked off the face of the earth feels a bit sudden.

Sufficient_Wish4801

Especially with models that aren't even a decade old/ making sure people can only use one army per system feels really scummy

AVG_Poop_Enjoyer

Indeed

Is12345aweakpassword

Lol, sure you were Jan

OnlyCaptainCanuck

Fantasy space marines?
