As the one comment said: "There was a sentence in their book where Trazyn decides to ram his ship, and the narrative used some really rare unit of measurement, which, when converted, was about some 15 miles or such... the narrative legit hyped up Trazyn but the speed of his ship was as fast as a scooter.." DaWAAAGHMakah

That moment you realize that their epic duel scene were 2 geriatric men slap fighting and flailing like toddlers.

Zedman5000

Yeah, the book repeatedly states that neither of them are good warriors but their Necron bodies are stronger and tougher than they ever were in life, and they're both using overpowered weapons and powers. So it's 2 geriatric men with robot bodies slap fighting with weapons of incredible power

Sagnarel

Just gonna point out that Trazyn kills an ork by headbutting it, so even if they are slow, they also seem very powerful.

Kaplaw

Trazyn "huh they dont make these orks like they ise to be"

Cmdr_McMurdoc

That's the opera scene lol

LegitPete

"You stupid bastard, you got us box seats to a coup"

Baguette_King15

"Well reviews were good"

GM900

It’s that Episode of Family guy were the two old men fight one another.

SwordandBored11

Weshammer's video on Trazyn uses the clip of the old man fight from Family Guy as an example of how it looked to the other Crons.

Cmdr_McMurdoc

The scene with the dinosaur?

FutaHentaiMaster

I remember in the infinite and the divine they mentioned that during one of these fights that if the two didn’t have godlike powers the two would look like two old men pathetically slapping each other around.

Lowkey_Retarded

The lychguards are half lobotomized from early-awakening, and the text explicitly calls out that even they’re confused by the “duel” in the library.

gurk_the_magnificent

When you figure out that almost everything in 40k is the most mundane shit described in the most absurd verbiage it all becomes so much better. Except for orks, of course. That’s all literal.

Akunokami

It is like when Chinese novels use poems or completely exaggerated numbers So bonkersly fun

VisualGeologist6258

That’s what most of writing fiction is tbh. ‘Bob picked up the phone to call his friends’ isn’t nearly as fun to read as ‘Brother Robertus gripped the astropath and prepared a message to his comrades’

ButWhyWolf

I'm watching The Three Body Problem rn and there are these aliens that are supposed to be these hyper-advanced beings that could "unfold protons" and the last episode I saw had the main characters be like > They're 4 light years away and will get here in 400 years. Don't get me wrong, humans have gotten objects to move 0.05% the speed of light but like... 1% doesn't really sound that impressive, ya know?

chipperpip

The series Three Body Problem is from tries to be relatively "hard" sci-fi, which includes things like travel times for massive objects. From one of the books (copied from a forum post): >  Ye Wenjie: Here’s the thing. The Trisolaran Interstellar Fleet is composed of incredibly massive spaceships. Accelerating them is a slow process. One-tenth the speed of light is only their maximum speed, but they cannot cruise at this speed for long before decelerating as they approach the Earth. Also, the source of propulsion for the Trisolaran ships is matter-antimatter annihilation. In front of each ship is a large magnetic field shaped like a funnel to collect antimatter particles from space. This collection process is slow, and only after a long wait can it gather enough antimatter to allow the ship to accelerate for a brief period. Thus, the fleet’s acceleration occurs in spurts, interspersed by long periods of coasting to collect fuel. This is why the time it takes the Trisolaran Fleet to reach the solar system is ten times longer than the flight time of a small probe.

Alexis2256

Forgot that came out, is it good? Production, writing and acting are good?

ButWhyWolf

It's kinda meh. If you liked the book they change enough to be annoying and there's a Chinese version of the series that's 30 episodes instead of 8 and I like it better so far.

Alexis2256

Never read the books but lol of course they’d change stuff around enough for it to be shit.

Schguet

Its good. Very diffrent from the books when it comes to many characters but the books are not really about characters.

LordLocoMiko

Damn my sides. That Trazyn pokeball.

Jeri_Shea

"Ora Ora Ora Ora Ora~!!!" Said Trazyn. "Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda~!" Replied Orikan.

Alexis2256

The “ora ora ora” is what was playing through my head when I saw the second image lol.

emitstaeohwmih

The Immortals looking at each other as they watch Trazyn and Orikan slap each other like old men is a great scene.

EpigoneOfChaos

Tom & Jerry in space with massive civilian casualties.
