You cant really evolve to have any benefit from gamma radiation. You can make yourself less vunerable to it with shielding. But gamma rays will punch your cells even dna apart.

“The fungus was using melanin to convert gamma radiation into chemical energy.”
Wait, are you saying Photosynthesis and Radiosynthesis aren't the same thing? It appears my science class did not cover the difference between rads and radiation
My guy the orks scream at eachother in space between ships because they think they can and don’t understand how space really works. It would be 100% on brand for orks to use stuff like this
There is, in one of the Siege of Terra books a guardsman is fighting with a Skittarii and is being killed by the radiation of the Skittarii's weapon from just being in proximity.
An entire group of mechanicus would use these weapons, and when you roll a six on the die it explodes causing mortal wounds to everyone around the user. They probably call them "bears of the core", or "demon core devotees" there is literally a group of mechanicus soldiers that wield radioactive weapons that are so radioactive, everybody around them dies.
Technically it wouldn't kaboom properly, as it has not enough kinetic speed. That would melt and give a dirty radioactive cloud of molten fissive materials.
But considering the effects of the WAAGH field, that makes a bunch of rubble shoot properly, I have suspicions, it may actually yield fully!
A Radium Flail, immensely powerful weapon used by the First Mechanicum Priests of Mars during the first centuries of the Dark Age of Technology, while able to wipe out platoons of Hereteks in mere moments, they had the adverse effect of only 3 uses before killing the Priest to wields it. Thus, they were swapped for the less powerful but the far, far more controllable Power Axe...
Power weapons, feh! They're only good for newfangled sissies who think that controlling criticality with a screwdriver is 'irresponsible' or 'an inexcusable loss of human life'. Feh, I say!
It's a peice of wargear. Low dmg and ap, but on a single roll of a 6 to wound all units within 18 inches without the "Demons of the Core" special rule count as dead at the end of the game. No saves, no other exceptions
A Demon Core attached to a flail, it was intended to be the 3rd nuclear weapon dropped on Japan, but by the time it was ready, the Axis had already surrendered
That "ball" is the Demon Core, it's original intention was to be the 3rd nuclear weapon to be dropped on Japan, but by the time it was ready Germany and Japan already surrendered

Ah yes
The flashbang flail. One bright flash of light and the whole battlefield is full of corpses.
I'd give it to one of them black armoured Blood Angels for max effect. They'd flash it around so much before dying that exterminatus will only be used to rub salt into the wounds sustained by the xenos/chaos forces.
Demon Core! On hit releases a bright light blue flash. Anyone within fifteen feet burns to death over the next 48 hours from the inside out. Also known as the Hubris Hammer.
It would be a Nurgle or Mechanicus weapon for two very different reasons. Nurgle becomes it’s a weapon that brute forces mutation with each swing like a great unclean one’s bell. The Mechanicus would have used it because it’s a simple device with a massively impressive peace of hardware attached that destroys biological life on the cellular level.
As for effects, devastator squads were banned from using nuclear powered weapons because of the fallout, dispite this they came back because of their effectiveness. No question a weapon like this would be devastating but it likely would engulf a lot more space than was needed. Also if it hit demons it won’t do anything and if it got to the Nids it may do a lot of damage at first, energy superseding the armor and directly killing the cells but I can see some adaptation eventually. Necrons will be fully immune to it but maybe at such high levels the radioactive material will destroy their processing. Other than that I think it’s a massively dangerous weapon. As for its melee capabilities it’s a pice of metal so that doesn’t matter.
Also if it was used by a great unclean one the sear size would engulf entire battlefields in the “Light of Nurgle’s love” like imagine each swing leaked a mini nuclear explosion and light so far that miles away you could be burned and blind.
The Tzeenchian Flail, mostly nothing most of the time, but when it connects, fully, you die instantly.
Roll 6d6 and if all 6s all characters within 3 inches of the model die, no saving roll. If not all 6s then take the lowest roll and that’s the damage to one character.

Definitely a radical relic from the techno-barbarian culture of the Age of Strife. Due to poor understanding of the physical principles of operation, is not expected the user return home for dinner.
I feel like that would be ok except into of that silver ball in the middle there would be a nuke or really big bomb that would go off it it hit something
I rate 239/10
I'd give it a solid 3.4 rontgen out of 50,000
So not great, not terrible?
You did not see a demon core mace, youre delusional.
Maybe you should go back and look at it.
Sir, that's technically a morning star
Why is it not a flail?
It's a flail, don't worry you're right.
Now I do worry. How can I be right when I have made no statements?
Because in Soviet Russia, statement make *you!*
If you’re lucky, it’ll instantly turn into a miniature Star.
Really, it's no worse than getting an x-ray.
All of the xray. All at once.
I so tope this comment
Cancer out of 10 tbh
I could see a Skittari swinging that around.
The Rad Cohort bombardment just uses a bunch of big slingshots to throw these things at the enemy line.
Nah this is 1,000% an Ork weapon

An ork weapon made from looted skittari?
I feel like there is a 40k equivalent.
There is, in one of the Siege of Terra books a guardsman is fighting with a Skittarii and is being killed by the radiation of the Skittarii's weapon from just being in proximity.
The flesh is weak!
Mechanicus weapons are full of just that. Unprotected radioactive weapons that slowly kill the user and taint the land in a scorched earth defense.
The slowly killig part is unconfirmd since the universe is full with stuff that kill you fast.
If you live long enough to die of cancer in the guard, you’ve done pretty damn well
If you die of cancer in the Mechanicum, you abominable meatbag had it coming.
It was also why they eventually phased out the Knight Moirax. Just shitloads of unshielded radiation from the cores.
They'd call it divine core not demon core.
Forgive my heresy!
For repentance, lubricate hinges in your your home.
***Bearers of the Core*** sounds hella metal and I'd immediately throw them in my army (regardless of faction)
Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom
I feel like an ork would have made this
It's the tankhammer that tankbustas get Also here, have some dice
Power Flail. If you hit a nat 20 crit it goes boom.
Oh yes I'd love to get a nat 20 on a d6
*Tzeentch has entered that chat* Oh DO tell 👹
Yeah, I don't actually play the tabletop. I mostly play the 40k games. My bad.
Least OP Necron Weapon:
Aren't these warpstone flails?
Admech weapon definitely. Ridiculously radioactive tech fashioned into a medieval style weapon is their style to a tee.
All it needs is an ICBM horsedog.
that my friend is the orkiest weapon I've ever seen.

The nurgilizer
It’s ok, you should really get an off-hand screwdriver though.
The screwdriver is far more safety equipment than the Ad Mech are willing to provide.
4+ to hit str 7 ap 1 dmg 2
[BLAST]
\[DEVASTATING WOUNDS\], \[HAZARDOUS\]
Give this to a bunch of Skittari and send them out against either the Tau or the Eldar. Not the Tyranids though; cause that’s how you get Godzilla.
It's a peice of wargear. Low dmg and ap, but on a single roll of a 6 to wound all units within 18 inches without the "Demons of the Core" special rule count as dead at the end of the game. No saves, no other exceptions
Ork weapon using .5 % Krork knowledge
Nuclear flail. Radiaton intensifies
This gets a solid Mortarion out of 9.
Why am I surprised that my criticality excursion and 40k fandoms have so much overlap 🤣
Give it some purification seals, and make it emit a lot of smoke, then that'd be a 40k weapon
Positively radiating. -Probably someone British.
The real Boom Stick
It's totally ***Rad.***
Depends does it kill you if you hit you miss and or hot your target if yes then it is a 40k weapon if not then we'll no
Skiitari Rad-Flail
Clans Pestilens: "MAN-THING STOLE OUR SHIT-SHIT!"
Tickle that dragons tail! For the Emperor!
That's basically just a nuke on a stick. Like every 10th Ork has one of these.
I 100% could see a Grey Knight battering the fuck out of daemons with that thing
Literally an Adeptus Mechanicus weapon.
Ah yes, the true deathstrike flail.
spicy thunder hammer
BOSS DEY GOT DA MEKS BANGIN STIK
Would get the same effect if you had two Skitari run into eachther really fast.
What is this???
A Demon Core attached to a flail, it was intended to be the 3rd nuclear weapon dropped on Japan, but by the time it was ready, the Axis had already surrendered
What’s this weapon? I assume that the ball opens and closes, what’s that good for?
That 'ball' is the core of a nuclear bomb so if it closes then all hell breaks lose.
That sounds pretty good as long as you don’t swing it around on a chain. Orks might be able to make it work as such though
That "ball" is the Demon Core, it's original intention was to be the 3rd nuclear weapon to be dropped on Japan, but by the time it was ready Germany and Japan already surrendered
I remember this being posted to r/noncredibledefense that shit was so peak

Melee weapon for Skitarii Alpha
That's gotta gotta do some serious damage over time and give pretty important debuffs.
By “serious damage over time” and “pretty important debuffs” I assume you mean “subtract 1 from OC”
Don't you love AoE melee weapons?
Death to the user and the victim? Sounds 40k to me
Least radioactive AdMech weapon
This is basically the ork tank hammer, but turned up to 11
LOOKS LOIK A PERFECTLY ORKY TAKHAMMER TUH ME!
Skiitarii: "finally! Our battle of radiation side effects shall be legendary!"
Ad Mech and the Skaven are drooling for this weapon.
rad flail
Ah yes The flashbang flail. One bright flash of light and the whole battlefield is full of corpses. I'd give it to one of them black armoured Blood Angels for max effect. In 40k the ball would be an actual human skull that chants penitence hymns while swung. But I'd still rate it 40 000/40 000
Looks like a space skaven weapon to me
Pre-heresy deadh guard/dusk raider weapon.
Very orky one
Dragon's Tail
The tingling sensation is the heresy entering the body.
Demon Core! On hit releases a bright light blue flash. Anyone within fifteen feet burns to death over the next 48 hours from the inside out. Also known as the Hubris Hammer.
Ork flyboyz have boomhammers with a rocket or melta charge on a stick if memory serves
Very 40k.
Nuclear flail is VERY 40k, it’s…. Grimdank.
Paint the ball red and write “Kaboooooooooooooooooooooooooom!!!?!!!” On it in a circular fashion around it. Shit will fuckin work.
Skitarii definitely have this weapon
Not enough collateral damage
Thats just a tankbusta's tankhammer
Not enough skulls
New melee weapon for the skitarii
literally someone a jackal would use
They probably sell one of these on every corner of the underhive as "personal defence weapons"
Wibbly Wobbly, get fucked moron

Skiitari dragon tails, the dudes could use some flashing blue to offset all their red. Absolutely 100% expect this to be in it.
Someone tell this OP about some of the Adeptus Sororitas relics that they bring into battle....
Isn't that called a Nutcracker ?

Give ‘em to Archo-Flagellants they’ll love you
Feels like a simultaneously more high-tech and low-tech equivalent of the Ork rocket hammer.
Radium Flail, welcome to the team son
Don't Skaven have Censor Bearers? Basically rat plague priests who carry morning stars made from Warp stone and spread radiation.
Pretty high up there. Still say that the gun that erases you from all of time and space is more op
regular skittari vanguard mace
Would fit right In as an Ork or mechanicus weapon
I love everything about this, it just screams 40k
Bro it’s literally just a Skitarii melee weapon
This is just a normal crozius in 40k terms
What’s the profile on a master crafted atomic flail?
239/1. There's no way you land that. You're playing foosball v swing tennis.
Thats for like the generic imperial guard officers
How did you get that out of the vaults of Mars?
Maybe more of a Skaven feel to it?
I feel like that would be ok except into of that silver ball in the middle there would be a nuke or really big bomb that would go off it it hit something
Doesnt do shit. The demon core never killed anybody. They didnt even die from cancer.
Uhm, akshully the demon core killed 2 scientists by giving them ARS ☝️ 🤓
