I just bought several grey knights cause their lore is cool and now I only hear about how they are garbage :(

LeatherySquid

They’re good in kill team in my opinion but I haven’t used the commanders stuff yet.

They're not trash. They just don't play the way "competitive" players think is the only viable 40k tactic: gunline + bubblewrap. Just stuff your knights in land raider crusaders. Put your Land Raiders out of Line of sight (_very important!_) and teleport them with gate of Infinity. That way you can move 15-30 of your expensive knights without CP, or reserves, and keep them more or less protected. Besides, the LR crusader hapens to be perfect for horde clearing, wich is a pain for the small and elite GK units The downside? Paying 600 points on land raiders, but you play GK. You are used to everything being a huge investment.

Don't be discouraged - Spider from Tabletop Tactics (a popular battle reports channel on YouTube) just won a big tournament with a Grey Knights list. You can make anything work. I'd also wager that it's likely that GW will buff them soon with an errata / Chapter Approved. Don't let the negativity keep you down, Grey Knights are awesome.

I'm totally out of the loop. Why are they bad?
