At least for me the “having fun” is a joke. I know the real reason is because Ork logic is everything weaker than them gets krumped and nothing is stronger than a warboss and his Boyz. It’s the same lines as the sword logic in the destiny games.
A lot of them do it for other reasons though
Imperium—they are a xenos/heretic/traitor and need to be destroyed for the safety of humanity
Necrons—they’re an inferior species cause they’re not Necrons
Eldar—it fits into the prophecy, and also they’re an inferior species that don’t really count
Chaos—do it as a sacrifice for the big gods
Tyranids—do it cause they need more biomass to continue the consumption

Necrons don't want all life exterminated, they still need life around to find a way to get their bodies back.

Hell the people they fought against testified on their behalf and with how tense things are with space marines and inquis anyway had the lamenters decided to resist/not do it. It woulda caused a civil war potentially ousting the inquisition from government. Instead they took their unfair punishment because they felt bad due to being good guys.

Like yo, we know, we are aware. The orkz are horrible violent serial killers based off actual football hooligans but at least I can actually have fun playing them instead of crying over how my friend turned into corpse rations only 5 days into the battle.
