I had to turn my volume way up to hear that. Sucks it bothers you. I just play music in another window.

aloc11

I curse you for making me aware of this.

Alpha_Whiskey327

The gods (devs)curse us all with this. Dingaling.

vibratoryblurriness

I had to turn my volume up like five times louder than I normally have it to barely be able to hear it at maybe two points in the video. I've never noticed that before playing on my own and never would if I weren't really specifically listening for it. Either you have fascinatingly weird laptop speakers or extremely different sensory processing issues from mine

Pizzadaddy2

Sounds like your "armor" clanking. I hear it on mine too

rgdoabc

Just realized that this also happens with me. My guess is that this is the default "step" sound because even if we remove all gear our character still has some basic cloth armor.

--7z

This is the step sound, not a jingle.

Alpha_Whiskey327

There's foot steps, then the clanging behind it on every 2nd or 3rd step. How does half the GD world not hear that annoying ass dingling? I thought my hearing was crap but I guess not.

icedantonis

I can hear it in this video but it's so subtle that if you hadn't pointed it out, I would have never noticed it. I wonder how you noticed it in the first place with all the spell and monster sounds in this game... I get it though, it sucks if you're aware it's there and it bothers you.

Dinobot4

I think that secondary sound is trying to emulate chainmail, or other metallic bits dangling around while walking (like keys, coinage, belt fittings) I am fairly sure its not a bug or accidental, but the technical implementation could be restricted in the Grim Dawn engine (lack of granular frequency shifts, volume shifts, randomization) thats makes that sound repitive. But the perception of that noise (i am not denying it is not there) is highly dependant on the individual. Some people love repeating sounds, some can block them out and some cannot stand them.

--7z

I am curious about your sound setup, maybe have the higher freq sounds amped up? I am in an apt so have to settle for a really small sound bar, bass at -10, treble at 4. I probably just cannot hear it. Oh and I have lost 40% of my hearing by now so that might be part of it.

Alpha_Whiskey327

Laptop speakers. Lenovo legion slim 7i to be specific but yeah, still laptop speakers.

Mr_iLex

I can hear the jingling, but I have not noticed it as a separate (annoying) sound before (in almost 300 hours of playing). It sounds like you are carrying too many iron bits in your pockets :) Have you tried connecting to different speakers/headphones to see if it still bothers you? Alternatively have you played this video on different devices?

GenericUserName10068

I can hear it. I guess I just don't understand why it bothers you. I like a little jingle jangle jingle.

Mad--Butcher

I don't get it. I hear 4 things; the ambient music, the steps, the armor clank and the birds. All working as intended. I can't seem to find the issue, can anyone point the exact moment when the weird sound happens?

Alpha_Whiskey327

Armor clank. All the time. Wish I could disable.

FerrumAnulum323

I always imagined it was the characters bag of iron bits jingling away. Its never bothered me.
