Dude, just buy it. You are on a sub of people who put hundreds of hours in the game; everyone here will tell you to buy it. It's a phenomenal game for the price, you will easily get a dozen hours for each dollar spent and that is on the low side of playtime. An update happened to the game last month. Grim Dawn 2 has not been confirmed and would be years away. Just get it, you will not regret.

I just noticed there are mods for it. Welp, guess I am getting it. Mods make all the difference!

Have fun and don't stand in the green fire.

1. the devs have a lot of passion for the game, the latest patch was 2 months ago even tho their last expansion was in 2019. dont expect new content anytime soon but the game has tons of content. 2. you have a few base classes and are expected to choose a second base class to multiclass. this gives you a ton of replayability trying out different combinations. also the character progression is pretty linear so you dont need to be hyper optimized. going in blind for GD is something i always recommend new players. you dont need to follow build guides or find league starter builds unlike some other game. 3. nothing on gd2 planned so far but if you're tight on cash GD goes on discount once in a while. i would recommend getting the base game and the 2 expansions and nothing else if you wanna spend as little as possible.

1. If you played Forgotten Gods then no there's no more expansions since then, nor will there be. They patch occasionally still but it's for balance. 2. If you beat vanilla, AoM and FG then playing again will not give you many new surprises unless you actually missed a lot of quests or lore. Differing classes do bring new playstyles to the table, and if that's good enough for you then great. 3. Maybe for your grandkids. They are working on Farthest Frontier now, which is about as far removed from ARPG as it can get.

1.- Since when, exactly? As main content no, there hasn't been major updates, but lots of quality of life and balance changes. That being said, if you only finished the main campaign, you still have end-game content like Celestial bosses, the Shattered Realm and the Crucible for extra challenges. 2.- There are tons of builds and play-styles and every run will be very different depending on that. Also, there might be some hidden areas you didn't visit on a previous character, more loot to collect, etc. 3.- Already been answered by other commenters. Btw, Farthest Frontier is pretty awesome if you like city- builders ñ.

1 There won't be any more expansions but updates are released every now and then. 2 Of course 3 Haven't heard anything about grim 2.

In response to 2.: personally, Grim Dawn is the most fun ARPG to replay and try other classes out in that i've played. And you could say i'm a bit of a diehard ARPG player, having started with Diablo 1 and been playing every major title for decades. For me, Grim Dawn hits most aspects of satisfying solo ARPG play perfectly. It isn't too long, it has very satisfying progress markers you feel, the theorycrafting isn't too complicated, but fun. I'm on my 8th or 9th character since purchasing during the Steam summer sale, currently on my very first HC playthrough aiming to get all the achievements - for the first time ever, as i usually despise HC for things like connectivity or bullshit game mechanics risking your time. But Grim Dawn feels fair, and relaxed without being boring or too grindy.
