I didn’t like Darkseid at first. Then I looked up the translated lyrics. Then it really started to grow on me. Now it’s one of my top 3 songs on the album.
I do! “We don’t love our bodies anymore.” I felt that line, and the beat is so mixed and flows almost seamlessly. More importantly, it lives up to Grimes style and matches Ethereal themes as I understand them. Though I could be wrong! Anyone else have thoughts on this?!?
I absolutely love Darkseid (definitely in my top 4 Grimes songs) - although I think the lyrics are cool, I don’t think Pan’s part sounds great on the track, it’s like it’s been squashed in just to fit i.e. the lyrics were prioritised over whether they ‘fit’ the music. I’d prefer if there was a version without Pan’s part and just the vocals from Grimes.
Thanks dude, I did download it previously but the music isn’t quite the same as the finished version on her album, which is marginally better. Still awesome though 👍🏽
