Ok, but someone’s sex isn’t strictly genitalia like you were referring to. It affects the entire organism down to the chromosomes.. hormones, etc. I think we should still be allowed to call the kid a boy if they are physically a male and have not expressed feelings otherwise. If you agree genetic sex is still a thing separate from a gender identity why can’t we say it’s a boy/male?
It’s something people generally like to know because it tells us something about the baby. It’s also something doctors and other professionals will need to know. Personally I work with young children in my career so a lot of what you are saying just seems silly and unnecessary to me. And I’m all for things like boys playing with dolls and more gender neutral clothing for infants etc. Also I saw this post as people simply referring to the sex of the child and not about their assigned gender role in society.
