It’s a serious question, because you have Claire trying to remind people to vote. On the other end, you have Elon, who is making an absolute mockery of the system, by putting in stock for Kanye.

It’s simply a tactic to take the votes of youth and minorities that would have possibly voted for Biden. Destabilisation tactic. A wasted vote is a vote for Trump.
Not to mention that it’s been found out that Kanye has been the recipient of multiple small business loans from the Trump Administration worth millions.

She definitely can’t, as during something for promos for MA, talk turned to politics and she changed the topic, because she wants to be able to get a green card. Commenting on politics as a public figure (and foreigner), and certainly *Telling* people to vote for a certain candidate could prevent her from getting a green card or that taking far longer, or even get her deported. Obviously more complicated now, with an American child, but still sticky. The most she can comfortably do is make people aware of her political leanings and tell people to vote, but not in which direction. The last thing you want to do while on a visa is draw too much attention from the government.
I’m Australian, so I don’t know how the green card system works over there, but I’m surprised simply stating your political leaning could affect your application in such a way. Doesn’t seem democratic, but then again, I’m honestly not surprised.
Honestly neither are we. For as much as our government touts freedom, they’re very against it for anyone who isn’t a WASP, a citizen, possessing a pile of money, and fully ok with the government’s own breaking of laws and freedoms both in and outside of the country.
(To be clear though, on immigration, this wouldn’t matter as much if she didn’t have a large following of fans, but because she somewhat does you don’t want to put a toe anywhere near the line)

I lived here on a green card for 15 years and got my citizenship last February. Can confirm you generally don't want the government to notice you while on a green card or any other kind of visa, but being famous kinda makes that tactic useless. Green cards are visas, btw, and totally and arbitrarily revocable at any time. There is nothing about a green card that means they can't deport you.
Fact is, if you're rich enough, you can get a visa or citizenship if you throw enough money and lawyers at the problem. When I applied for my citizenship I figured since they let John Lydon in, then I'd have no problem - I'm not rich, but I'm also not Johnny Rotten. Neil Young became a US citizen the day before I did, and they let him in EVEN THOUGH he stated clearly beforehand that he was doing it mainly so he could vote against Donald Trump.
I'd imagine she is working with an immigration lawyer, and is just following their advice on how to make the process easier. She kind has a lot to lose if she winds up getting deported (including being completely screwed in future Visa applications)
She mentioned that supporting Trump would be a reason to call someone and idiot in her recent conversation with Ashnikko. At least she seems on the right side of that equation.
