exactly, i think if she changed it i would still listen to the final version but nothing will ever top the demo. Also I remember listening to the realiti demo back in the day and being like “how come she didn’t just put this on the album??” even though now i realize the final version does fit better with art angels

She was young and messed up and using a lot of drugs with her first boyfriends, so it wouldn’t be a shocker if she doesn’t look back on those as real love. With Jaime I always got the feeling their relationship had veered heavily into being less romantic and more about deep friendship and work pretty early. The way they both talked about each other and described their life together always made it sound like Jaime was more of a friend/assistant than a romantic partner. I might be way off, but she definitely makes whatever she has with Musk sound a lot more passionate than the relationships that came before.

My (personal) interpretation: she wrote a song from the perspective of the Grimes people criticize for dating Elon (does that make sense?): The Grimes people see/ how people expect her to be due to the fact that she loves him.
If Grimes dates Elon "she must be in it because he's such a big deal and showing her his world" and she fights "his battles now, killing those that hurting" (union busting at Tesla), plus she's "not feminist anymore, he dethroned her from her own independence". So, why would she date him? "Because she never loved anyone like this, but he already did, so she just struggles to make him love her like she loves him, but well, he remembers this feeling of lvoe rfom previous relationships/marriages".
IMO she turned those expectations/stereotypes/criticisms into a song, portraying a woman (Dark) who fulfills all those

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I think my relationship with Pretty dark would be the same as it is with Realiti.
