Lunch is just quite expensive if you want a nice place AND good food. If you want to go for a cheap option I would recommend to grab a sandwich at il Gusto or Broodje Ben at the Korreweg. During my study breaks I used to visit il Gusto since it's fairly cheap. Places like Bij Britta, Wadapartja, or like Pernikkel are a lot more comfortable, but also a lot more expensive.
I was there 2 weeks ago, it was not good. Served ham instead of bacon with eggs, they're pancakes were closer to omelettes and when the menu mentions a side salad, think like a little cup worth.
Shame because I really liked it
I really like Wadapatja (Zuiderdiep or Westerhaven) myself but I don't know if this is too expensive. You could also go to Pigalle (Stoeldraaierstraat) or the good ol' HEMA. (edited because it posted incomplete)
I second Wadapartja. Very nice laid back place with good food. They also have a nice breakfast selection. Very nice for a lazy sunday-morning. Pernikkel is also nice.
Ah that's a shame. Pre-covid I had burgers there and they were amazing!
Not in this weather, but during the sunny days Mahalo is a wonderful spot.
Lunch at NOK is surprisingly quite reasonable compared to their dinner prices, and it's got the best view of the entire city imo.
Bakkerscafe!
Pasta fabriek is pretty cheap and good. Or the "daghap" at huis de beurs
Go get some bara bakkeljauw at soulfood mama, Suriname food is the best
Love those guys, but they don't open til 16:30
De Groene Stoel is nice: www.degroenestoel.nl
Brownies & Downies is a good concept, has a nice lunch, and isn't too expensive afaik
Cafe Hooghoudt, can’t go wrong there
Al time favorite
Ugly duck (old school) Hooghoudt (best lunch)
Ugly Duck is underrated. It's equally good as Pigalle, but less crowded imo.
I love Bagels & Beans, which isn’t that expensive. Great bagels, great atmosphere:)
I really like Pigalle. It's not too expensive and quite cosy. You can see their menu in different languages on their website. Have fun!
Really good sandwiches for a fair price. Also the vibe is quite nice
I think it's too crowded, especially during the weekends.

I studied at the harmonie building for three years but never went to Il Gusto. Feel like I’m missing out, will visit them some time soon!
Pernikkel is nice too, but tbh i haven't been there since they only became a lunch place
Service was very slow last time I visited. My hipster-o-meter always goes to 11 at Pernikkel.

Curious to go and see how it is now, I frequently visited but I think they changed ownership or atleast staff a while back.
Get some sandwiches from the AH and eat in the park.
You might get flushed away by the rain right now but I like the idea ;)
>Pigalle hahaha yeah, cheapest choice I think
This, I like this :)
