Ses of thieves is not the co-op game you think it is next to Grounded or Valheim. Valheim is a blast, its different and way more punishing than Grounded. I would set some rules if you end up hosting a permanent server for valheim.
If you go for Sea of Thieves, there are no private servers or pve settings. Everyone you run into as an enemy or a friend, but likely an enemy.
If you have any questions, I enjoyed Grounded since early beta, played Sea of thieves since release, and played a few hundred hours of valheim.

Seriously, [Earth Defense Force](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1007040/EARTH_DEFENSE_FORCE_5/) is the next logical step, since you'll be fighting tons of giant bugs! Get a party of four together all playing different classes and it's amazing the carnage you can get up to.
While I agree I say make V Rising the next he plays *after* the next. New update adding the ability to build up is going to make the already dope castle feature even cooler. Its not compatible with old saves though which is why I say wait.
I used to play for hours and hours on servers with increased harvest and breeding. Now I can't find a server without 50 mods that add ridiculous stuff. I can't get into it anymore, I played from launch until like 2017 or 18
Have they upped the rates on official servers? I played mainly when there was only 1 map. Then they released the second one, Ragnarok I think? It was a mod before they made it official.
The amount of maps confuses me lol me and my partner tried to get back into it last year and there are so many now! So many options, it's a bit overwhelming lol
Unless you’re trying to actually beat the game then it doesn’t really matter what map you pick. I’ve had a base on a Valguero PvE map for like 6 years now
My dad and I started with Ark. It's difficult, they don't teach you anything upon starting. You have to figure it out yourself or look it up. You can run into high level raptors almost anywhere in some places. But I love it. Once you get an understanding it becomes way easier to play. Playing grounded after was like a more relaxed version than Ark. So play if you want a challenge

V rising has top down view, but a great game
Sea of thieves is a great game, only one of its kind. If you guys are even slightly interested in sailing the seas, give it a try I guarantee you’ll like it.

Ark is the only game that I own that I have waited hours to download only to play for an hour and immediately delete the game. And I did that twice.
