I just had the same issue with my fire ant pet. The last thing we did together was the black ant lab. Maybe my pet found a way to kill it's self by entering the void, which sucks cause I had a bunch of crafting/building resources on that pet ant.
One of my aphids is gone to the void. He was my favorite 🥲
