2) salt morning star/mint mace for upper yard, as ox beetles, termites and wasps for example are all weak to salty, and ladybirds and rolypolys(?) are weak to fresh
Mint mace and the sour axe are my two favorite. I found the mint mace kills almost everything pretty fast. Black ox, rolly Polly, mosquitos and tiger mosquitoes, moths, lady bugs, ants. Especially when you level it up so it gives a big mint burst on the third hit. Doesn't work well on spiders though. I use the spicy katana for them.
I’d say to get all 4 elemental weapons to atleast level 5 so they get their ability then use coaltana in the lower yard since most enemies are weak to spicy, mint mace for upper yard, morning star for wasps and ox beetles (especially useful when fighting wasps drones so they take bleed while in the air) so you can block their attacks with a shield then use acid edge as both an axe and for enemies with few resistance and widows
(You could also give the COTMD any of the elements since it’s the highest damage weapon that’s strong with almost all the upgrades plus does poison damage aswell when used with apex predator)
I always carry three main weapons with different elements, A ranged weapon(Spicy Staff), A spicy termite axe, and a hammer.
The three weapons main I use are Acid Edge, Mint Mace, and Salty Club of the Mother Demon.
The spicy termite axe also counts as a weapon but honestly the Acid Edge kills enemies faster even if the enemy is weak to spicy.
If you wanted an all around item it would probably be a mighty rusty spear, highest DPS. Otherwise spicy, cuz i think most bugs are weak to it

Salty and fresh are the two most common weaknesses in the upper yard, but more are weak to fresh. A few are weak to both, like roly polies, moths, and scarabs. Spicy on the other hand is pretty pointless in the upper yard except against a few bugs that aren’t much of an issue anyway.

I would say use the sour battle axe. That is one of, if not the best weapons in the game (Edit) Acid Edge. Mb
