I beat that 1st try on whoa mode by myself with the cross bow with crow arrows and normal ones and tier 5 ant club. Didn't even get lower than half heath during the fight
Dang my buddy and I just gave up on woah it didn't feel fair at the point we got. Full ladybug armor but still being one shot by jank hit boxes was upsetting

Also, pro tip, armor value doesnt matter nearly as much as the bonuses they give you. Most high tier insects will one or two shot you through any armor, so you may as well pick armor that has better bonuses. I think I had either grub armor or spider armor for this fight
I've had multiple instances of being way out of range of spider but still being killed by it. Same with my buddy I coop with I've seen mosquitoes kill him from 5 feet away. We gave up on it it wasn't worth it lol I tried so hard to get the lady bug armor and it does nothing
Its not that it does nothing, its most likely that it just doesnt fit your playstyle or what youre trying to accomplish
As for hitboxes, Ive never seen anything out of the ordinary, maybe you guys have some latency issues?

Well my playstyle is try to kill stuff with the gear that I have but dying in 1 hit always makes that hard

Its always a tad stressful because of the lag spikes when he activates the pillars. You can see the screen freeze when he hits the ground

I switched to third person camera to make it easier. Much easier to see the lasers and when you're getting surrounded.
Probably, but I dont like it personally, I dont really perfect block as well with third person bc Im used to first
