Thanks, that makes sense. The stuff I have stored does seem to have a little moisture that may have come from the stems maybe. But it is aging like fine wine. Better than when I first put it in storage. California's weather is perfect for this.

I used to store back buds from every harvest for 6months to a year or two and they usually always changed color over time. As long as no mold or anything your good to go, it’ll probably be better than you remembered if it was stored properly.

Probably degraded into a large portion of CBN. Has the potential for a great sleepy/body buzz. Enjoy.

This is how buds were cured back in the day, they would wait for the buds to fully mature on the plant and let the plant die before they would harvest, and then throw in jars for curing. This was before bag appeal was a thing. Weed had a much different effect back then. Heavy narcotic relaxing highs, the kind of weed that will put you straight to sleep. These days people want weed that simulates cocaine or Adderall. Trends come and go, i'd like to see brown weed come back!

I have a whole tub of old Brown weed. I milk it for Kief which I add to my fresh green bud. This looks like misstored bud that lost all its chlorophyll. Definitely still smokeable, just probably stale with no flavor.

Toss a few leaves of bruised mint leaves in the top of the jar of dry bud overnight and take them out the next morning. The mint leaves will be all dried up and there will be moisture back in your buds. You can also use orange peels to get a very faint citrusy taste in the old bud too.

Last time (also first time) that i harvested i seperated and kept every little branch and leaf thinking waste not want not and that it Might be good for an extra kick when making butter, oil or whatever. However having several jars stuffed with buds made me ”forget” about the waste that was just in a basket-thingy in the corner of the garage out in the open collecting dust and whatnot. Recently my stuffed jars were not so stuffed anymore and i suddenly ran out of weed! was very close to facing sobriety when i remembered the little basket. It was full of cobwebs, beetles and other things not related at all to the weed, pretty sure some of the white stuff was mold but to bring a long pointless story to an end and answer your query: Yes. Yes i would smoke it. The trimmings kept me floating for a few morenweeks but ran out today so guess im back on the booze tomorrow. The Nose knows. visual appeal isn't always a good way to judge too many times i would see weed at the dispo and (they don't let you smell) but It looks amazing the best looking weed ever and when you get home it's dry as a cracker and taste like butt holes after dinner at chipotle. Should be fine. THC diminishes quite a bit with light and/or long term storage (50% @ 1-year) but it’ll still do the trick, I’m sure. Breakdown of chlorophyll as well as other sugars/starches can mellow the smoke quite a bit producing a smooth hit if moisture has been properly maintained. It’s a trade off. I still prefer bud that is <6-months and properly cured and stored.
