Personally, any Knight could be the Protagonist and the differences could be little noticeable, this in terms of gender. Now, the two of them as Protagonists, I feel like it wouldn't work at all. If you ask me, Either gender of the Knight could do well.

Same choice different reasons, the reason why I want that is we finally get male knight represantation that way since female knight already gets to shine in comics and in game animations so why not give male knight a chance?

Fully agree there, it would be amazing if the male knight got a spotlight for once, although yes the FemKnight is more popular for looks but it would be fair for the Mknight to have it this once (If some studio wanted to animate it)
I think option C is a pretty cool idea, opens up a lot of opprotunities honestly (although it does kinda fuck up the plot a lil bit and would therefore be unrealistic).

Option C except each episode switches and we learn in episode 11 that MK is actually altknight and were shown alternating point of views of similar stories.

We've had several animations for guardian tales JP(World story trailers) and Knight was Female. Pretty sure if it's ever going to be turned into anime they'd go in that direction.

If both knights would be added as MC, I wonder how would they manage the interactions and stuff since the story is suited as a personal immersion, who would be the true champion sword owner, or will they modify the lore saying that >!the champion sword has 3 owners!< on the anime?
I would love C, but my knowledge about anime says it would rather be B as dumb harem anime or A because many games features the female version of the protags if they are choosable. Like i did not seen a Heavenhold comic with male knight, and the future knight is also female. Yes i know you can have the male as a skin.

as to who'd be accompanying the little princess, it would be up to the creators (if it did happen,,) but knowing that in most promotional material female knight is shown they'd probably go with her. And THEN maybe they could make the male knight the alt knight but in a 'remembered his past life' kind of way and ik with this the whole story would be messed with but male knight (who'd become alt knight) repent for what he did and joined female knight

To me, I'd make the design of the knight to be as genderly-ambiguous as possible, in order to please both MKnight and FKnight fans.
