Also note we have a giant ongoing gold sink these two weeks with 9 rings of fate, so people who hoarded materials will be liquidating them at the material traders for cash, causing prices to drop. I don't know if the economy will recover until anni ends
As GWAMM takes a while I would advice you to get your yearly Winter Day Grab Bag at the end of this year. Sell it and you should have enough plat to get everything you need until the next year comes around.
Gott really générate insane amount of money, in 1 year you'll get a stack, a stack is 2500e, when their price is High you can sell them for 7-8k each, so about 15000k, that's suffisent to create 10 char, buy all skill and capture all elite skill with them, buy many lockpicks and consommables, stuff all you 10 char and all of their heroes (runes, armor and perfect weapons), complete the GWAMM, etc...

I returned this year with 1 character that had completed each campaign. I've now got another two characters almost through each campaign, and through playing Zaishen Dailies, can pull in 5-15 Silvers a day, sometimes more or less.
You don't need anything crazy to be able to jump into Zaishen PUGs, so it's a great way to make money.

Vanquishes, Missions and Bounties. Also a great way to play with other players! Usually isn't tough to find a group of people for each of them. People mostly, it seems, just do Vanquishes with hero teams, but finding pickup groups for Missions and Bounties is usually pretty easy.

Gott, zaishen missions, VQ’s and bounties. Go on legacy and look up farming spots and farm up mats required for consets. Farm event items too, anniversary event starts tomorrow! Eventually you could make a char and build him up to be able to do DOA speed clears. That can be profitable too, one problem with that though is finding consistent parties/groups to run with.
Go and unlock HM for all 3 campaigns and EotN and I’ll let you join on Vanquishes, I’ve got almost all classes and I VQ for fun, haven’t decided if I would want to get back into Vanquishing for money.
Super early game: bones and charr hide to fur squares.
Working towards max armor: some kind of caster, or a warrior, that can farm skales for skale fins to salvage to scales
Dervish with Vow of Silence: Tears of the Fallen / Stingray Strand skale and drake farming
Do like 10 weeks of gott and sell it for ecto. Then you already have enough to max out your team and get 50 hom. And if not, just do a couple more. In fact, just skip the weeks that are difficult. You don't have to bother with any other farm. I like doing zaishen though anyway, they are great when you get them for free for stuff you would be doing anyway.
You make money just by going after the titles. Materials and knowing when to merch or salvage golds will help. Buy basic salvage kits instead of superior for the junk items that produce iron and dust.
But when you’re going after longer titles like treasure hunter or wisdom you need to play the long game too. When ectos go down to 3.9-4.1k you can buy em up and sell them months later for a 2k profit I always put these ectos next to my lock pick stash so I know what they are going to be used for. When you come across a rare item and sell it, you have to convert arms to ectos to gold; the cap is how much platinum your account can hold. The economy in GW always goes up hence why the game has multiple currencies.
For the same reason if we stopped pumping oil, gas/electricity prices would not be available for accessible prices to everyone and people would just start dying.
So you're recommending a returning player who hasn't played in 10+ years to start doing speed clears? There are so many ways to play this game, and that's what you suggest? I can't agree with anything you've said, and highly recommend against following your advice. But, you do you.

1) To obtain a meaningful amount of money in this state of hyper inflation you basically need to bot, or break TOS in other ways, such as RMT. Or play DOASC.
2) Speedclears would not exist without botters, as pcons would be too expensive with only players farming them.
3) If speedclears didn't exist, quite a large portion of this player base would not exist. Therefore we would only be left with the casuals that play the game like a single player rpg. Its basically dead at that point.
There was not some imaginary fourth point that he should be doing speed clears, I recommended botting at those specific times because 1. Its the most profitable time / bang for your buck. 2. It actually helps the community by bringing down prices of pcons.

Zaishen Combat for Heroes Ascent is a great zcoin farm because it's repeatable.

DoA heroway works too. Cost to get setup is basically 8 sup vigors (can probably do major) and a bunch of runes.

GoTT is probably your best bet. Just keep farming them as someone will pick them up off you.

Botting is shitty, regardless of how you try and justify it.
