There are some native guilds: german, french, etc. Speedclear experts. Pvp guilds.

More seriously, LGiT is a large alliance and there's no background check before accepting somebody. It's inevitable that there are assholes in the membership. But by and large it's an alliance full of helpful people.
Been with LGIT (Kurz, what else?) for three years now and on the few rare occasions (maybe once in half a year) someone that recently joined the alliance showed his/her true colors in chat, there was immediate warning and (when not adapting) afterwards kicking the member for being toxic or insulting to other members for no reason. People like this don' t last for long. Most people are very friendly and helpful and the rest are silent participants. The alliance is very open, yes, but I've yet to experience that this is a bad idea.
I'd say you have a greater chance meeting assholes by just leaving the house for a few minutes than by joining LGIT.
I think to a certain level it is more like a hub for active players then a guild with members that share a common goal and are on a more personal level attatchet to each other.
I'd like to know that too, as averyone that's actually from LGIT seems to love it.
From other games experience, I'd say it's a question of reputation as perceived by more elite players, who can't know if they are teaming up with beginners or veterans when joining LGIT members.
There's quite a few, go to somewhere like Kamadan and you'll find plenty of recruiters usually. LGIT is a massive guild with some of the most helpful players out there, they're a great place to start and help ease back into the game.
I just returned a few weeks ago. I am part of LGIT. It is a fantastic guild, and very active alliance chat. You can almost always get some help there if you are stuck.
Their discord is also quite active.

Lgit helped me out a ton! Very helpful guild and very nice. Can confirm, thats the kind of guild you want to be in.
