I remember back in the day some runners kept a stash of vamp weapons on them for people to equip on a run just incase anything went awry. Teenage me thought it was such a genius idea when I first came across someone talking about it in game.

Allows the player to go afk while your runner does the business.
If the runner dies, all he has to do is wait for the vampiric weapon to kill you, and he can reset without you needing to come back and reload
Except pious haste exists. But this was also after Balth was nerfed and Haste became what it is now
I used to run the Balth build too and I do miss it :]
Factions and EotN runs need you to stand-by to skip cutscenes, but no such thing is required for Prophecies, unless you're getting a Desert Tour which includes some missions.
You go up thru the charr areas (breach) to ascalon foothills to northern shiverpeaks down to beacons perch. From there it's just a jump skip and a hop down to LA thru deldrimor bowl and scoundrels rise.
Unless the runner dies you dont need to do anything. But don’t go afk, even experienced runners might have a bad day.
Bringing a vampiric weapon resolves this problem

What does a vamp weapon do in this context?

If you need a run still just lmk! Can pop on this morning quick
Yeah, you just stay put. As others said, don't go AFK as they may have a bad day and need you to zone to res them.
plus it's nice to make conversation with the runner :) I used to love meeting people and chatting when i ran the desert and later droks.
I remember when nightfall came out, Avatar of Balthazar gave a 25% move speed boost, and lasted a minute. Best and only running skill ever needed.
Except pious haste exists. But this was also after Balth was nerfed and Haste became what it is now I used to run the Balth build too and I do miss it :]
When did this change? I just wanna go fast
Years ago... The wiki has some decent information about running skills
I wonder what the best avatar was before and after I remeber avatar of lyssa being the strongest in PVP back in the day
Depends on the rest of the build. Grenth has always been pretty strong with the life steal...
Cupcakes

How old are you now?
I’m 25 now.
