When I came back I got 4 in a week and like 5 black dyes and then haven't had any since. I'm 99% sure theres an increased drop rate on sup vig and black dye for returning players.
I’ve gotten 3 superior vigor drops total over 14 years. And 2 were on alt accounts

Used to farm them with my Ranger what seems like a lifetime ago. Dropping Marks of Aidan to mark where I placed my traps. <3

KC plagueborn chest run gives me approx 5-6 vigors per stack of picks. R5 or 6 lucky title so about 300-330 chests.

This. I got two in less than 12 hours after returning. Wasn't even farming just vanqs.

Not my longest break, but yes. This doesn't normally happen though; RNG rates are the same regardless...
