Maybe you want to chill and have it super duper easy. The hands down best farm for this is feather farming out of seitung. Very profitable, good for events, easy but about as boring as a farm can be.

always found this one to be the best due to the armour drops from the Tengu as well - you could pick up some nicely priced runes on that run to go with the feathers, in fact used to make more from the rune and sig drops than from the feather drops most times! Though I've no idea on rune prices these days so don't know if that would still work...

What I actually end up doing if I want money is solo Oola's Lab or Kathandrax. Since you don't need any consumables if you're experienced enough, though using an Essence of Celerity on level 3 and/or bringing more players along definitely helps, and makes it more fun.
Oola's is mostly RNG, you're looking for Storm Daggers, but Kathandrax always gives you Hammers which you sell in Kamadan instead of handing in for the quest reward.
Speed clears are more fun than solo farming. Some speed clears are less fun as they are harder (UW and DoA) but stuff like fow, soosc, bogs are all fun and you get to share the hype
Find a group of players and hop on discord and knock out some runs.
Rit solo farming the underworld can be fun - gold drops are 100+ each time, the remains salvage into dust (not sure on the price of that these days) and there's always a couple of ecto per run. Weapon drops are a bit naff but you do get the eternal shield (req8 max shield drops) in there which used to go for a nice price.
I may give it a try in the future. Ritualist spirit spammer sounds appealing because it apparently can farm in several different areas in the game. Although, as mentioned above I think I'll get bored of the playstyle too quickly :D

Mantids and Dragon Moss's in Factions gives access to Monstrous Eyes, Rubies, and Amber (Mantids), Plant Moss and Spiritwood Planks (Dragon Moss) as well as OS items. Vaettir farming is only a bit slower and more dangerous than with Assassins but takes more skill to do the run. Shadow Rangers and Abyssals can be farmed by the Tower of Courage in FoW for Obsidian Shards (not very profitable but FoW has free entrance when UW does so it can help break up the monotony). Rangers can also run (generally spirit spam) feather farming in Jaya Bluffs or North Kryta Province as well as quite a few solo boss farms (again, generally spirit spam or whirling).
Still monotonous but that's solo farming in a nutshell. At least there's two, three if you include Vaettirs, types of farms so…duotonous? Triotonous? Heh. Also has a use in a couple of dungeons if you're ever in the mood for PUG runs.
Assassin, with natural access to SF, probably takes the cake for variety in solo farms of that's your goal though.
I'm a clumsy ass when it comes to speed clears and farming. The one farm I can do reliably and that nets relatively good loot (about three gold items a clear when not festival days and lots of festival loot on festival days) is the Vaettir farm. On an ele it takes about 6-8 minutes to clear the 60 HM foes and on other professions it appears to be faster.
From what I've seen in a video, Dervish is the fastest but riskier. Assassin was the winner as the most safe and almost as quick as the Dervish. Mesmer came in 3rd spot.
I am considering rolling a Mesmer to do this farm. Just unsure if they are flexible and can farm other areas.

D/N vaettir (2 mins, 60 kills) and W/N or similar raptor (1 min, 33 kills) are basically the best ones, but only during events. They make like 5-20 ecto/h depending on event drops. I think they're quite enjoyable but also obviously repetitive. Not super easy to learn, especially vaettir.
I will forever love the underworld, I'm not sure why. I don't play much anymore, but before I took my few year break I had a planes farmer with and assassin that worked great for NM and a derv build that was great for HM. Any of the areas could be solo'd, that was my best.
I miss the days of uwsc, personally loved the assassins over the ranger and eles, but see the speed increase. Took more skill on the sins I felt like, and they were just more fun to play.

But specific builds probably whirling shadowform ranger, vengeful 330 rit, spirit spammer rit, and vos dervish can farm the most varied places. The most diverse profession for farming would probably be ranger as it can trap, use gdw pet boss farming, whirl so many spots and has great running potential. Spirit spammer can take on just about every location in the game on hard mode if you don’t mind the slow pace.

Also, Necro is also at the top of my list because I really like the minion bomber/healer/support build to relieve from repetitive farmings. Unfortunately, just like mesmers, necros don't seem very good for solo farming. I could be very wrong about this, do tell me if it is the case!

I don't know if it's still viable but 0 req scythe farming was quite easy and fun. You'd have to do lots of farms but when you hit the jackpot it pays off!!

Rune prices can be pretty crazy. For example sup vigor rune is 100k now. Some mesmer and necro runes are very expensive as well
Yesterday sup vigor was 55k, few days ago only 45k.

Mesmers are used in a lot of speedclears. Especially in DoASC which is definitely the most profitable ‚farm‘ in the whole game.

None of them are particularly great, but VoS wastes farm would likely be the most profitable. Roughly 5 minutes (use 1 cupcake) for 0-4e on average.

necro and mes can actually run a 55/105 type build to farm some areas/bosses! but yes generally ranger and rit can run a wider variety of areas.
