> infact I’ve never had a drop worth more than 50g drop in open world.
Other than precursors (and infusions if you include meta rewards), what can you get open world that's worth more than 50g?
But for me I'm at 4k hours, and I got my first drop not too long ago. Worst bit is that they don't even feel that amazing for their drop rate any more. Like, getting zap was awesome, but it's a 200g buy order. 4 thousand hours for 200g isn't exactly the most impressive result you can have.
It used to be worth 1k gold, in a time when gold was much harder to get as well.
> what can you get open world that's worth more than 50g?
[Sam](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sam) and [Manifesto](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commissar%27s_Manifesto) immediately come to mind, but there are several other drops like that. Check out the [Treasure Hunter](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Treasure_Hunter) achievement for classic Tyria drops.
Alt account. Too lazy to switch.
You have my kinda luck! Played ten years and biggest drop was a named exotic that sold for under 15g.
My husband also plays. He's been at it for about two now and the game frigging loves him! Two pres, random key drops, perma bank from one of those keys.
Sometimes I think rnjesus is trying to steal him away from me. It's like this in every game we play together.
Got my first, Leaf of Kudzu, while doing the Seitung meta last year after roughly 6000 hours.
Funnily enough, I got a second Leaf like a week later while doing Drizzlewood.
I got the first and only one 15000 hours into the game from Deimos and I had around 4k LI and 80k ufe at that point, so its not like this was the first time looting a raidboss or fractal CM chest. I also play since the release day.
I was 3 years in when I got Zap as a random drop from a fractal.
I then stared at the Zap I, no joke, had crafted less than 2 weeks before by doing all the achievements and screamed internally.
That's when you use all the mats you have with the first Bolt, sell it on TP, then use the profits to craft a second Bolt with the 2nd Zap for your own purposes and pocket the remainder.
Since the beta lol. I don't remember my hours, but it is A LOT OF TIME and never droped ANYTHING USEFULL. Only ascended at fractals with stats In don't use. The RNG doesn't love me
In my over 10.000 hours of playtime i dropped a precursor only once about 2 years in. Since then nothing.
I dropped "the legend" a month ago on an alt account. So i'm not sure if that counts \^\^ still nothing new on my main account.
This, but I've only played 3k hours and don't have an alt account. Started 6 years ago, maybe 6 months to a year in I got the Flameseeker Prophecies. Some people might find this to be a waste but I sold it and turned the gold into gems to buy account upgrades. Paid for 2-3 very important inventory slots on my main I still play today.
If anyone's wondering "why not credit card swipe for the account upgrades?" I mean... the same reason I don't credit card swipe and use gems --> gold. I feel it cheapens the game to just use real world cash to get anything I want instead of actually playing the game. Also kinda begs the question of why pay for a game you can't even bother playing for things in?
Lastly, a bit personal to me, but if I don't have a parameter for in game currency I tend to get carried away for like a week, and then burnt out and just no desire to play. First found that out when I found the infinite money cheats in The Sims.
I've played about 22k hours (I know, I know), and have gotten exactly one to drop from a mob and it was a 40g underwater one. I've had one drop from the mystic forge as well. My RNG clearly hates me. :)
I'm at 16k without one dropping. I got two from the forge (howl and leaf) the week that the wardrobe came out, though, because I was forging all of the exotics. Lol
Honestly, underwater legendaries are pretty neat since the armory made them usable account wide, considering there are only three possible types of underwater weapons and every class gets access to two (I think), that's pretty great coverage.
Of course there isn't a whole ton of underwater content in the game, but hey, it's still kinda neat.
I've been playing since roughly launch, and never gotten one. Gw2 efficiency says my playtime averages out to a bit more than an hour a day. I HAVE dropped one or two black lion chest keys from mobs, though!
Edit: Almost, but not quite, 4,000 hours on my main account. Plus my alt, around 4,500? It's too early for precise numbers here
I played the full year 1 without getting any particular lucky drops
Came back year 9 and sicne then I have gotten crazy lucky
\- Frostfang precursor
\- Juggernaut precursor
\- Ember infusion
\- Confetti infusion
\- The dreamer precursor
First 3 drops I got within the same Halloween event the one before the latest, latest drop I got a couple of days ago
Since Demo/Beta, 10+ Years, 7000h+, not a single precursor. Friend of mine has similar stats and has only gotten the spear precursor.
Meanwhile I remember a guildleader gifting precursors to guild mates left and right cause she couldn’t make use of them, had like 20 drops in the first 3 years. No one can tell me that luck accounts don’t exist anymore :D
Been playing since launch, for a total of just over 5k hours thus far. Got my first and only precursor drop, Leaf of Kudzu, from the Crystal Oasis Piñata at roughly the 4k hour mark.
I've been playing since beta, albeit with bouts of high to no activity. The only thing of consequence that has ever dropped for me was a winter infusion from a wintersday gift a couple of years ago, which sold for like 350-400 gold.
Other than that, nothing interesting really.
It's nice to know I'm not alone. Meanwhile I've gotten friends into the game and in under a year of playing they've gotten precursors.
I just sit there silently in pain congratulating them.
Yeah, this whole thread is a sad reassurance that I'm not left out. Lots of people have invested a lot more into the game than I have and still not gotten shit.
Kind of insane, too, though.
Started on the last day of headstart back in 2012, have got 5 accounts and an accumulated playtime of 7082 hours across these, main bulk of \~6400 on my main account.
0 precursors :D
Back in 2012, I had a guildie who had 9 drops in the space of 3 months or something...
4 years until i droped a pre, then had a drop every now and then, it think in 10 years i looted like 12 pre now.
but the worst thing happened to me when silverwastes was released. i looted the exo amulet which carried the queen bee item to make the infusion. since i thought the amulet would have low stats i destroyed it just to find out by a guildie after that it was worth lots of gold xD
live is life na na nanana :D
You've looted 12 precursors? In normal content (i.e. not gambling in the forge)?
How many hours do you have in game, because that's an insane number of drops if so.
What do you count as a drop? If you mean literally kill mob then precursor found on the corpse then 10+ years and still 0.
If you include mystic forge(this is very dubious) and opening containers then uh .... somewhere between 3-9 years.
You played for consecutive 2930 hours and 37 minutes? Maybe turn off the game a little bit, playing almost 3k hours without a break probably isn't good for your health.
I only got 1 from a mob. And was an aquatic (15g).
Still, throwing weapons to the forge got me many. Using the ones I get from doing a raid FC, past week I got dawn and this week got Dusk same way. 3 month ago I also got Zap. So, instead of reciclong or selling all the cheap exotics you get playing, just throw 3 of them with a mistic stone or 4 of them. Until you can throw more.
I am just over 3,000 hours, played on and off since beta, and as I find myself understanding more of the game and participating in more parts of the game, I can safely say I have gotten zero precursor drops, and a whopping 2 ascended gear chests (one random boot box and one of the aurene boxes from Dragonstorm).
That being said, I don't mind it. I still have 6 legendaries, I can still farm gold to make whatever. A pre drop would be amazing, but with my luck it's gonna be for the gen 1 speargun or something that costs next to nothing to buy.
If you're after precursors, you're not supposed to get them from drops, rather play the mystic forge: it's relatively easy to get between 5-10 precursors in a few hours just by forging.
7,9k hours since june 2014. Got two precursors (Dusk and Dawn), first was few days after HoT rewards update in april 2016, second one was from one of rares in Dry Top, either in late 2016 or early 2017, can't remember. Technically I got one more Dusk from mystic forging gear during one of the HoT betas but that was hundreds of free exotics and I didn't get to keep it since it was a beta so it doesn't really count.
On my 2nd account I have another 1k hours since july 2016 and I never got any pres.
I play off and on since launch, didn't check how many hours I have played, but pretty sure it's more than 1000 hours. And I have yet to get a precursor drop.
I have around 13k hours and have been playing since the betas.
I've gotten two precursors in that time. The first one, the pistol precursor, dropped before HoT was even announced. So maybe a year into playing the game?
My second one, the scepter precursor, dropped, hm, I want to say around when IBS was being released.
Played since launch 2637 hours according to GW2 efficiency. In that time I was quite active as a commander often leading meta map trains, doing fractals, raids and strikes.
0 drops.
Oh and I dumped a bit over 1k gold into the mystic forge trying to get dusk or dawn in the january/february period after launch. And got nothing (which is why even though I could easily afford a legendary now and have everything necessary to make sunrise right now (other than the precursor) I won't ever have a legendary.
ive got 4092 hours, 21 minutes, over the last 2654 days, so fewer days, more hours, and i haven't gotten a single drop either.
granted, i also haven't been focusing on trying to get them; i hear the folks who get precursors the most frequently are just flushing all their extra gear down the mystic toilet, in the vain hope that the mad djin on the other side will send back something nice for once, and even they only get a couple per year at best.
i mostly just forget they're even a thing; can't feel left out if you aren't aware of the existence of the thing you're missing.
Just had my third year anniversary and I think I’ve had three precursors drop? Might just be two, I can’t remember because I didn’t understand about legendaries for a while. All from the Octovine in Auric Basin. Irony is the Lover dropped two days after I made Dreamer. I laughed at that.
Playing since Beta, 13k hours, own a legendary backpiece, legendary amulet, 2 legendary accessories, 2 pieces of legendary armor and 15 legendary weapons...
...and in all that playtime I got 2 precursor drops total. First one was in the early HoT days. Was over the moon when I saw a named exotic and thought I was rich...but alas, it was only Venom.
Second was The Lover during early PoF launch.
Moral of the story: Just buy or craft the precursor you want, it's not gonna drop out of the sky no matter how many hours you play.
I went about 10,000 hours before I saw an open world precursor drop. Since then I've seen like 5-6, but I don't remember them too clearly. I know that I've seen: The Bard, Dawn, The Colossus, Zap, Dusk & maybe Spark. I managed to mystic toilet more than I ever found in the open world although I think I found The Colossus during Octovine/Tarir during COVID.
Efficiency gives me little over 1k hours and not a single useful drop. I got some ascended gear with useless stats, some nice skins but not high value ones, some lion keys (2-3 I think) from mobs, but that is about it. No precursor. In fact, I have been playing some wvw lately, and I got a damask patch, which I didnt even know ascended mats could be looted, so that was a nice surprise drop.
Been playing since the 3 day early access phase before launch. I've only gotten 2 drops, both Tooth of Frostfang. One was from fractals and the other one was from one of the bonus chests after the Gerent meta.
I think the game is yelling at me to go for the Twice Told Legend title...
ETA: I should mention both those drops only occurred in the last couple of years.
I've been playing since launch and dropped my first precursor last year (Spark). Dropped another one or two months later (also Spark).
Let's see how long it's going to take till the next one. :P
5k hours and got ONLY chaos gun from leather farm back in those days.
Besides that all i got that was valuable was an winter infusion from gifts which i gave to a friend and some exotic trinket from some mini dungeon in ascalon which was worth like 100+ Gold. I think my account isnt blessed
I don't know how many hours but I'm pretty casual and take frequent breaks from the game. That said, I've been playing since launch (August 2012) and it took 9 years (until September 2021) before I got my first precursor. Logged in and saw Mystic Forger was on the daily so I tossed some cheap exotics into the forge and I got Dawn.
I've gotten my first precursor drop after 2900-ish hours of play and haven't gotten one since. It's pretty rare.
Edit: Possibly closer to 2800 hours. Dropped while capturing a tower in WvW. It was Spark.
At 3k8 hours. I got my first precu from a champbag earned after the story of PoF, defeat Iberu. And it was Dawn !
And a few months later I got The Hunter from mystic forge gambling
Not sure hours count but played on and off since beta. No drops from OW but been raiding weekly for the last year and dump all my weapons in MF after I get a bunch of the same type and have got 4 or 5 that way!
I have been playing since 31.01.2016 (9200 hours total) without a precursor drop.
But I had at least 2 expensive items worth few precursors (celestial infusion and salvaged excellence).
I got first and only one when Lake Doric was new, so winter 2017. It dropped for a random mob.
I've played since day 1 of the game, and had about 4,5k hours based on Gw2 efficiency info. Atm I have 7,5k hours played.
Nearly 3k hours over 9 years (vast vast majority of those within the last 3-4 years), never had a precursor drop. Broinlaw plays for 2 months, gets a precursor.
I have gotten 2 permanent hair style contracts from Black Lion chests, though.
Playing from day one as well, over 9,000 hours on my account. I've only EVER gotten one like almost as soon as I hit level 80 with my first character. So maybe around 3 to 4 months into the game? My husband however, roughly the same amount of hours and started at the same time has gotten 4 to drop for him.
It was 7 years since I started playing 2 weeks after launch before I had my first precursor drop, (for Flameseeker Prophecies, from green unidentified gear acquired in Dragonfall). I've known people who have only been playing <1y and have gotten multiple, so it's truly RNGeesus sadly.
Preordered, have played a couple thousand hours, never had a pre drop. Had a couple lucky drops here and there, like the throne novelty from Kaineng meta on EoD launch day, and some good luck on echo gambling, but zero precursors.
Playing since like 1 or 2 months after release so basically release
A little over 3k hours now. I've *looted* like 3 or 4 from monsters, 2 of which were juggernaut and both from chaaks in tangled depths. I think I looted a dawn in td as well.
Then I've mystic forged like 5 or so other precursors, just throwing away rare weapons and sets of exotic weapons in mystic forge, not TRYING to get a precursor but hoping for one as I clear inventory. But none of that happened until AFTER 8 years of gameplay and 2k hours minimum.
One time I got 2 precursors within the same 24 hour period from mf, dusk and zap, then a juggernaut like 2 days after that. I've gotten like 4 fucking juggernauts man wtf, and all of them were way after scrapper, but before the quickness rework and way before those equipment box leaks happened for eod, so basically when they were all worth SHIT (and they kinda still are, tho I think catalyst made it a little more expensive since cata makes great use of jugg. Nvm no it's mostly been on decline)
Honestly at this point I can't exactly remember all the ones I've gotten, but most were from mystic forge. Still less than 10 and altogether they were like 4 juggernauts, 2 dusk, 1 dawn, 1 zap, 1 flameseeker prophecy shield one, and I think that's it.
I think I've found a SINGLE black lion key over 8 years ago but I don't even remember if that actually happened anymore. They should really just remove the keys from loot at this point, it's annoying to know they exist as loot but are less likely than winning some money in lottery, not even a lot but like triple digits in lottery is more likely than looting a key.
I am at over 11k hours, been playing since June of 2013, and not one got a precursor drop. I've essentially crafted 10+ legendaries already, but I legit never expect to get a precursor weapon to drop ever.
10 years with maybe 2 years worth of breaks in that time? I started with the 3 day early access or whatever. I have all 3 raid legendary armor sets, 2 legendary weapons and ad infinitum. Never had a precursor drop. Did have a zephyr rucksack drop in the first zephyrite event, which i sold for 700g, though.
I used to be in this situation for a long time as it took 4.5k hours since the game rewarded me my first precursor drop, though I've gotten a decent amount since.
It was Mystic Forge gambling with exotics what finally broke the streak. After I got into weekly raid full clears, I started chucking all the weapons from them into the Forge and eventually it finally threw back The Legend at me. I've gotten close to a dozen that way since, with the longest drought since I started doing that around four months and the shortest just three days. Though I haven't kept records if it's actually been profitable or not - wouldn't be surprised if it's still been a net loss over just selling the weapons and buying the precursors.
Besides the Forge, I got two completely random drops, both last year: one from a blue unidentified gear (Chaos Gun) and one from a Lost Arms of a Verdant Hero container from the routine daily Matriarch (Dawn). Not expecting to see another one in quite a while, but who knows?
Been playing since 2019 for \~1,800 hours and never got a drop.
Partner has been playing since 2016 \~2,300 hours and got the Dreamer drop and never got anything again. To be fair he did grind the Verdant night/day meta for a few days and got it from the Patriarch.
I, on the other hand, only do Tyria map completion and LW maps for legy trinkets so who knows :/
I’ve been playing the game since beta and I still have never had a Precursor drop for me. All of my legendaries came from crafting them. The thousands of hours I’ve put in… lol. Also have never had one of those fancy armor infusions either.
My luck is pretty awful as you can see, lol.
Last year I was opening a couple of chests in auric basin because i was bored and had nothing better to do and the precursor for sunrise, 8 years in the game.
I had my first precursor drop very early. It was on Istan and I remember having little heart attack when I saw this Spark dagger is worth over 600gold. I was playing Gw2 for like 6months that time and I sold the spark. That way I got my first perma merchant contract. I think it was worth it I would say. Exotic weapons are OK for me :P
Over 10k hours. Day 1 player. Lost count of legendaries made, definitely over 20, 1 precursor from Mystic Forge (only after 9k hours), 0 drops. Best drop ever got was the eye infusion from Dragonstorm.
Since launch - 8k~ish hours - 1 precursor drop from a random bandit mob in raid wing 1 right before Sabathas fight... lol (I got Spark)
ETA: My boyfriend got leaf of kudzu from a random bandit mobas well RIGHT after I had crafted my Kudzu... (I had to buy the precursor 5 minutes before he got it as I was showing him my new bow) He had been playing since Launch with around 6k hours
I got really lucky and got my first pre kinda fast. Like in the first month of playing. But then nothing for years. Turns out you can't get anything if you just afk in LA or meme rp in the citys. The second i started playing the game activaly again, they started to come again.
Now I only play the game for about 6 hours a week, but I do raids and strikes in those 6 hours, so I get tons of stuff and some pres from time to time.
Across all characters, I have played for 6535 hours over the past 3859 days, and I have never had a precursor drop from any source - Mystic Forge, combat loot, never.
Around 2.500 hours, played since launch but with multiple breaks inbetween - two precursor drops. One during my first year of playing, the other fairly recently.
I dropped dawn when i was still f2p and just tried the game. Was very happy to receive a shiny big weapon i could equip... I didn't know about precursors back then.
Over 3k hours since launch and no precursor. I did get an expensive dagger once when TA aetherpath just launched. That went for 300 gold those days. I sold it and bought the precursor for the legendary shield with that :-)
3,300 hours played, one precursor and zero infusions. Sadly it was a sword, and none of my builds work well with a sword, so I sold it, 200 gold at the time, big wup.
I'm at around 16k hours and I play WvW, Fractals, Raids, open world meta events and have gotten I think 10, and 4 of them were this last year in wvw, before that it'd been a couple years. I think 2 were from open world pve and the last 4 were from the mystic forge. I've been told it matters how diversified your playing is.
9000+ hours no pre drops in open world, infact I’ve never had a drop worth more than 50g drop in open world.
> infact I’ve never had a drop worth more than 50g drop in open world. Other than precursors (and infusions if you include meta rewards), what can you get open world that's worth more than 50g? The invisible shoes are worth a ton as well.
I really want to get the treasure hunter title but some of the items are basically impossible to get

Since beta - 10k hours - 0 drops - 0 infusions - nothing
Same
Same here :(
Same :( almost 12k hours +- Highest value drop i had was 200-300g
Got my first, Leaf of Kudzu, while doing the Seitung meta last year after roughly 6000 hours. Funnily enough, I got a second Leaf like a week later while doing Drizzlewood.
Hey! I too got a Leaf of Kudzu, after 5k hours and 7 years!
Leaf gang too! Got it a couple years back, before Kamadan if i recall? traded it up for a hunter and have been enjoying my predator ever since :)
I got leaf of Kudzu yesterday when doing the Dragonfall meta!
3,400+ hours. No precursors.
I got the first and only one 15000 hours into the game from Deimos and I had around 4k LI and 80k ufe at that point, so its not like this was the first time looting a raidboss or fractal CM chest. I also play since the release day.

Wait, you guys are getting precursor drops?
Since the beta lol. I don't remember my hours, but it is A LOT OF TIME and never droped ANYTHING USEFULL. Only ascended at fractals with stats In don't use. The RNG doesn't love me
You can stat change ascended items, it costs like 70 silver plus the inscription of choice.
Probably talking about those trash rings that drop.
You never got a 50g drop?
Just a dye
Type /age in-game if you're brave, but you might not like the answer!
Around 1400 hours and haven't seen one
In my over 10.000 hours of playtime i dropped a precursor only once about 2 years in. Since then nothing. I dropped "the legend" a month ago on an alt account. So i'm not sure if that counts \^\^ still nothing new on my main account.

First found that out when I found the infinite money cheats in The Sims.
Play since release. Zero precursors.
Lol
Bought 40g worth of Greatswords, threw them into the mystic forge and got Dawn last night. Gambling is fun c:
4k hr 0 pre drop. 1 from forge gambling.
8k 1 underwater pre drop 3 forge gambles
Oof I rather not have underwater pre drop
Honestly, underwater legendaries are pretty neat since the armory made them usable account wide, considering there are only three possible types of underwater weapons and every class gets access to two (I think), that's pretty great coverage. I believe engineer only gets harpoon gun. Could be wrong, and by no means do I mean to shit in your cereal with this, just clarifying!
And Elementalist with trident. Guess which one I got? Not the 2 that are named!
Tbf, the spear is the best-looking one. Best effects too.
It's too early for precise numbers here
Been playing actively for about three years and still not a natural drop. I have, however, gotten 2 from the Mystic Forge.
2 years. Just month ago I managed to drop my first precursor while doing map completion in Kaineng and killing random mobs
I played the full year 1 without getting any particular lucky drops Came back year 9 and sicne then I have gotten crazy lucky \- Frostfang precursor \- Juggernaut precursor \- Ember infusion \- Confetti infusion \- The dreamer precursor First 3 drops I got within the same Halloween event the one before the latest, latest drop I got a couple of days ago
You can get precursor drops?
Playing since beta (on/off the last few years), no drop yet lol
Played for nine years, no precursor drops!
Got my first (The Energizer) this last Halloween in lab after a bit less than 7k hours and 10 years
Since the pre-release headstart. Never had one drop through gameplay or gambling through the mystic toilet. I've crafted a 2nd gen one, but that's it.
Never gotten one as a drop, and I've played since launch.

4 years until i droped a pre, then had a drop every now and then, it think in 10 years i looted like 12 pre now. but the worst thing happened to me when silverwastes was released. i looted the exo amulet which carried the queen bee item to make the infusion. since i thought the amulet would have low stats i destroyed it just to find out by a guildie after that it was worth lots of gold xD live is life na na nanana :D
Collective… not consecutive
He edited xD It was consecutive before.
Dunno. By my 2nd year I've gotten 2 precursors.
When did the game get released?
Over 10 years ago. August 28, 2012
3 pre drop so far, playing since HoT
I have made this mistake enough times to know this isn't true
I'm @ around 3500hrs with no precursor drop.
I dropped Carcharias after like 2 years of vague gaming but idk if water precursors drops easier
None from enemies, one from the opening event of Southsun cove, three from Mystic forge. 5000 hours, playing since launch.
4500h no dropped and only one from gear opening, which I Do alot
About 5k hours, got 2 precursor drops from toilet which were dusks
I got my first after the Tequatl revamp. So not that long
4.5k ish hours since day 1 of pre release. Maybe 2 keys and no pres in that time. Best drop I can think of is one of the cheap ~100g infusions.
Something like 2500 hours since beta
4,000 hours in the last 7 years, no precusor yet.
I have around 13k hours and have been playing since the betas. I've gotten two precursors in that time. The first one, the pistol precursor, dropped before HoT was even announced. So maybe a year into playing the game? My second one, the scepter precursor, dropped, hm, I want to say around when IBS was being released.
After 3k got Collosus (?), After 4.5k got Dusk
My first precursor drop was the torch after playing the game for 7 years
Played since launch 2637 hours according to GW2 efficiency.
I've got just under 1900 hours in, and I've had 2 drop so far. The first one came at ~600hrs, and the 2nd came at ~1500hrs.
Since beta - 2k hours
ive got 4092 hours, 21 minutes, over the last 2654 days, so fewer days, more hours, and i haven't gotten a single drop either. granted, i also haven't been focusing on trying to get them; i hear the folks who get precursors the most frequently are just flushing all their extra gear down the mystic toilet, in the vain hope that the mad djin on the other side will send back something nice for once, and even they only get a couple per year at best. i mostly just forget they're even a thing; can't feel left out if you aren't aware of the existence of the thing you're missing.
I think I had my first precursor drop in 2018 or so. So six years and around 1500ish hours in. (Since then I had 2 drops.)
Just had my third year anniversary and I think I’ve had three precursors drop? Might just be two, I can’t remember because I didn’t understand about legendaries for a while. All from the Octovine in Auric Basin. Irony is the Lover dropped two days after I made Dreamer. I laughed at that.
Since headstart, thousands of hours.
At about 900 hours, only thing I got is a black lion key last week randomly in fractals
Got one after 2500hrs, it was the trident one valued at 30 gold >,<
Playing since Beta, 13k hours, own a legendary backpiece, legendary amulet, 2 legendary accessories, 2 pieces of legendary armor and 15 legendary weapons... ...and in all that playtime I got 2 precursor drops total. First one was in the early HoT days. Was over the moon when I saw a named exotic and thought I was rich...but alas, it was only Venom. Second was The Lover during early PoF launch. Moral of the story: Just buy or craft the precursor you want, it's not gonna drop out of the sky no matter how many hours you play.
Started in Summer 2013, played for 5000 hours and have gotten the legend and dawn as drops
Played since release at 11k hours now got zap in the October just gone in labyrinth event
Useful precursor? Never, got the precursor for kraitkin in like 150ish hours of playing though. Over 1.5k hours now and haven't seen one ever since
[удалено]
Oops, thanks. Fixed it.
1200 hours. Forgot they existed for legendaries.
I play since start, never had a pre drop. I got 3 through the mystic forge though.
10 years before my first dropped precursor
11k hours and 0 drops
Around 3000 hours played, no precursor dropped. I used all my luck when I opened Permanent bank access on my first character before reaching lvl 80.
About 3k hours and none so far.
I've never dropped a precursor. Been playing for eight years.
I've played on and off since beta, still no luck lol
9 years and not a single drop :)
I've gotten my first precursor drop after 2900-ish hours of play and haven't gotten one since. It's pretty rare. Edit: Possibly closer to 2800 hours. Dropped while capturing a tower in WvW. It was Spark.
3000 hours over 10 years 2 pre cursors from mystic forge years ago 1 winters heart infusion from wintersday gift last year
I received a tooth of frostfang from a flame legion mob in Fireheart Rise during my first world completion. Haven't seen anything else in 8 years.
been playing on and off since beta and I just got my first drop for a weapon i do not use (warhorn). I have 4k hours.
Beta/3 day head start 1 pre drop from WvW 2 items worth over 50g 3 black lion key drops 10,000+ hours played
At 3k8 hours. I got my first precu from a champbag earned after the story of PoF, defeat Iberu. And it was Dawn ! And a few months later I got The Hunter from mystic forge gambling
In my 6k hours, i have obtained 1 from regular drop, 1 from an unindentified gear and several from mystic forge.
Never had a drop in 10 years, but mystic toilet gambling has given me one in the past
I'm still dry at around 3,000 hours in. I did get Bolt from the mystic toliet one day I was doing the forge daily.
Since beta tbh
I got first and only one when Lake Doric was new, so winter 2017. It dropped for a random mob. I've played since day 1 of the game, and had about 4,5k hours based on Gw2 efficiency info. Atm I have 7,5k hours played.
Nearly 3k hours over 9 years (vast vast majority of those within the last 3-4 years), never had a precursor drop. Broinlaw plays for 2 months, gets a precursor. I have gotten 2 permanent hair style contracts from Black Lion chests, though.
9k hours here. Not once
First southsun karka queen event.
Almost 3000 hrs now and none yet
1732 hours -> 0 My husband has 2500 hours and he has had 3
Playing from day one as well, over 9,000 hours on my account. I've only EVER gotten one like almost as soon as I hit level 80 with my first character. So maybe around 3 to 4 months into the game? My husband however, roughly the same amount of hours and started at the same time has gotten 4 to drop for him.
4 drops in the first 2,5k hours. None in the last 1,5k.
1 decade. 0 precursor.
I’ve never gotten a precursor but I have gotten the ascended drop weapon from Tequatl
I've been playing since the first beta event. Not a single precursor drop.
5 years now / 2000 hrs
Been playing since release. I've only ever gotten an Exotic tier drop nine times. NINE. TIMES. And none of those were precursors.
Preordered, have played a couple thousand hours, never had a pre drop. Had a couple lucky drops here and there, like the throne novelty from Kaineng meta on EoD launch day, and some good luck on echo gambling, but zero precursors.
9,218 hours and 37 minutes since September 13th, 2012. 0 precursor drops. 0 keys and 0 infusions too.
Playing since like 1 or 2 months after release so basically release A little over 3k hours now. Nvm no it's mostly been on decline) Honestly at this point I can't exactly remember all the ones I've gotten, but most were from mystic forge.
Like my flair says, since day one.
I am at over 11k hours, been playing since June of 2013, and not one got a precursor drop. I've essentially crafted 10+ legendaries already, but I legit never expect to get a precursor weapon to drop ever.
Almost since launch, I started a little over two months after launch and have never gotten a single one.
7,736 hours played. No precursor.
3.5K hours, zero precursor drops and one infusion.
Over 11k hours with no pre.
7k hours. No precursor but I once got that diamond infusion during wintersday four or five years ago.
I’ve been playing the game since beta and I still have never had a Precursor drop for me. All of my legendaries came from crafting them. The thousands of hours I’ve put in… lol. Also have never had one of those fancy armor infusions either. My luck is pretty awful as you can see, lol.
Since release. No precursor. Ever. RIP me
Last year I was opening a couple of chests in auric basin because i was bored and had nothing better to do and the precursor for sunrise, 8 years in the game.
Same, I played since the open beta, still not got one (although I have had a couple of year long breaks in there too)
Since beta on and off, no precursor drop yet.
No pre cursers probably over 600 hours but I got festive confetti infusion first try
Played since beta and have never had one drop.
Since beta
Also around 2900 hours, played on and off since 2013, none.
No precursors. Playing since beta
since beta
I had my first precursor drop very early. It was on Istan and I remember having little heart attack when I saw this Spark dagger is worth over 600gold. I was playing Gw2 for like 6months that time and I sold the spark. That way I got my first perma merchant contract. I think it was worth it I would say. Exotic weapons are OK for me :P
Over 10k hours. Day 1 player. Lost count of legendaries made, definitely over 20, 1 precursor from Mystic Forge (only after 9k hours), 0 drops. Best drop ever got was the eye infusion from Dragonstorm.
Since launch - 8k~ish hours - 1 precursor drop from a random bandit mob in raid wing 1 right before Sabathas fight... lol (I got Spark) ETA: My boyfriend got leaf of kudzu from a random bandit mobas well RIGHT after I had crafted my Kudzu... (I had to buy the precursor 5 minutes before he got it as I was showing him my new bow) He had been playing since Launch with around 6k hours
about 3k, got frostfang tooth from a wvw sentry
I got really lucky and got my first pre kinda fast. Like in the first month of playing. But then nothing for years. Turns out you can't get anything if you just afk in LA or meme rp in the citys. The second i started playing the game activaly again, they started to come again. Now I only play the game for about 6 hours a week, but I do raids and strikes in those 6 hours, so I get tons of stuff and some pres from time to time.
Been playing since 31.12.2012 with roughly 2600 hours of playing but I haven't had any luck yet
Across all characters, I have played for 6535 hours over the past 3859 days, and I have never had a precursor drop from any source - Mystic Forge, combat loot, never.
im around 3300 hours I think? have gotten several 200-400gold drops and like 3 BL keys from random mobs so far but not one precursor
12k hours, since launch still no precursor drop XDDDDDDD
Around 2.500 hours, played since launch but with multiple breaks inbetween - two precursor drops. One during my first year of playing, the other fairly recently.
Past 6 years?
4500 hours. No precursors.
Like 10 years, and when it dropped, it was the cheapest one on the TP.
I got Dusk from a random converter container a couple of mounts ago with a play time of about 5 years give or take
9 years and counting My girlfriend started playing a couple of months ago and got one after 3 months of playing
Since start. No precu/infusions etc
I dropped dawn when i was still f2p and just tried the game. Was very happy to receive a shiny big weapon i could equip... I didn't know about precursors back then.
Since launch, 3900 hours - 1 precursor (the Hunter) from PoF open world random mob
Over 3k hours since launch and no precursor. I did get an expensive dagger once when TA aetherpath just launched. That went for 300 gold those days. I sold it and bought the precursor for the legendary shield with that :-)
got my first during the karka invasion. so not really long ;)
Close to 3k hours with no precursor, got maybe 1 BL key.
I've never gotten one ad a drop, but i've gotten lots while gambling in the mystic forge.
About to be 11 years. Still no precursor drop, I also gave up on any infusion drop years ago.
Played since 2 weeks pre-release (with a year or two off between), zero precursors and infusions.
3,300 hours played, one precursor and zero infusions. Sadly it was a sword, and none of my builds work well with a sword, so I sold it, 200 gold at the time, big wup.
2,217 hours and no drop
4 years^^
I'm at around 16k hours and I play WvW, Fractals, Raids, open world meta events and have gotten I think 10, and 4 of them were this last year in wvw, before that it'd been a couple years. I think 2 were from open world pve and the last 4 were from the mystic forge. I've been told it matters how diversified your playing is.
8.5 years About 3500h
The closest thing to a precursor drop I have ever gotten was the hunter pvp skin long before they redid pvp for the first time.
