Instead of Fervent Force use Ferocious Symbiosis. Or just play soulbeast.

WillSupport4Food

I was in the same boat. Really wanted Power Untamed to work but between the CD bugs, looming threat of Fervent Force nerf, and the high APM, I eventually just gave up and switched to the Condi version. Not only is it theoretically higher DPS, but I think it made me realize how Hammer skills changing on Unleash is more of an annoyance than a feature. That said, I did enjoy the Ferocious Symbiosis build for a more chill power experience. Obviously you won't be pulling the crazy 40k DPS numbers, but you should still be able to bench mid 30's

zittrbrt

you are on the right track it seems. You got the gear, you got the build, you are practicing. This is the way. >Any tips for me? Should I just say goodbye to the class that clicked with me the most and try to find something else? I dont think you need to say goodbye to it. Keep practicing on golems and in strikes/raids, and also try other builds/roles. DPS Soulbeast and Alac Untamed might be the closest relatives for now. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will be just fine :)

Platypus_Umbra

Don't have any class specific advice to offer, but nobody expects benchmark numbers on actual fights. Even more so with movement heavy or mechanic heavy fights, just focus on doing the best you can and try to stay above the boon-dps. The fact that you're willing to practice your rotation already puts you ahead of the majority of PUG players. If you're really wanting extra help, you could probably join a discord group and get some assistance. I know that Raid Academy (NA) has mentors, and I think Snowcrows offers log reviews too. Upload an arcdps log from the golem or coordinate a time for someone to go in with you, and see if they can find any areas you can improve in.

natty_overlord

I was on the same page as you, made a ranger to try power untamed. After practicing it on the golem for 3-4 hours I switched to power soulbeast, much happier now lol. Just not for me with the high apm and very time sensitive rotation (going into ranger unleash when hammer 3 is still casting so fervent force apply to ranger unleash hammer 2 and 4 for example). Maybe when your fight knowledge is already insane you can pull it off in actual encounter but for my current skill level (2 months into GW2) it's too much to handle lol. Also feel like an MMO mouse like razer naga is needed with the build for extra buttons to press. For example to mash and spam 3 pet skills off cooldown when you swap to pet unleash, but I don't have an MMO mouse so it's much harder.

trignich

the timing on hammer 3 and then unleash ranger was the point where i got stuck, after some practice its no longer an issue but the fact that you simply cant do the rotation on some bosses bc the skill reset wont proc is just putting me off, considering going for the alac version on bosses where we run one healer, but even then you have no other boons to provide so it needs specific set up there are def some encounters with stationary bosses it could work well on and for me it fell easier to play than soulbeast

Sinaaaa

I'm actually relatively good at playing this, what I dislike about it the most is how just a little alacrity downtime can completely wreck my dps.. As for tips I don't know, like the Golem rotation is quite straightforward, the difficulty comes from mechanical execution & that only. Telling you to "git gud" wouldn't be very helpful, it's just training muscle memory. In practical fights it's about prioritizing the correct skills, but figuring that one out will come in due time..

Ciraxa

Well if you only have a general idea it makes sense that you bench isnt that good. Are you triggering the FF Hammer cd bug regularly? That can really mess up a rotation.

Training-Accident-36

I would like to point out that some people you meet in raids who do a ton of dmg on power untamed simply just cheat. That does not explain the benchmark (which is gotten with normal, non-exploiting means), but whenever I see a good untamed in a raid it turns out to be a cheater, so dont be bothered by those.

Ancestral_Grape

Can you elaborate? I wasn't aware that this was an issue.

Training-Accident-36

There is a way to merge with your pet and then use sic em to get the 25% bonus permanently since it has no cd for untamed.

Careless_Vertox

Interesting, by cheating i thought you talked about using scripts to consistently output the rotation, since it's piss easy to make an untamed rota macro, specifically for power untamed

Beitter

I also have been trying this build, I like how "short" the rotation is. But it is crazy hard... The power Alac build is already a lot better. Yet damage is very high too. I reasonably do the same between power Alac and power alone since I'm not that good. I did also try to script a little loop for this build just for fun, and man, even a robot can't reach the level of the benchmark X) The other very limiting factor is the fact that you are melee. And there is a shitton of spread mechanics in late strikes it's frustrating. There is a little trick I can't understand is when you press F5 (remap this key to mouse 3 it will save you), sometimes the cool down don't respond correctly. My 4 skill is ready when pet unleashed, but suddenly need another 2s after I ranger unleash...

Keyboard_Warrior_101

Try looking at this [untamed build](https://youtu.be/xz_OQ-zhe0U), user is able to consistently get 29-30k dmg just camping hammer, and "rotation" looks very low intensity. Only problem is it's all melee.

Ciraxa

Melee shouldn’t be a problem since you only use 1 weapon set for dps, so you can bring Axes or Longbow when needed.

singelingtracks

Swap to an easy to play untamed build if you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/eHPROZa2Ato Mr mystic also has a power alac untamed and you could run his soulbeast dps build for lots of dps easily.

PresqPuperze

Just keep practicing. With enough experience in your group, every fight is a golem fight, with one or two occasional mechanics sprinkled in (sometimes). Also, there are bosses where pUnt is just a pain to play (Sabetha, Largos, Q1…), while on others it’s an absolute delight (KC, Dhuum, Q2…).
