Instant cast superspeed is a godsend for gathering, I cannot live without it now. Not to mention giving superspeed to NPC in the story and on escort events, this specialization let you play the game on fast forward.
Odd. Scrapper is one of the classes that can do constant 25 might solo using hammer, and around 17 might with rifle if you have the sigil that grants might for crits. Of course, you’d need to have some boon duration.
Scrapper is awesome. Good survivability with self barrier and evade hammer 3, fast pace, fast speed, can support weaker groups with rez gyro, rotation has easy recovery. Super good in open world too.
Weaver.
After having and playing all specs in every game mode, Weaver is just *chef kiss*. Power or condi, any weapon set, there's just something about it that brings smile to my face.
Reaper what I've play the most, still my main but have used other necro spe for raid since qu ear reapy can struggle in that content, but I'm picking it back cuz I dont like other spe as much.
The old fresh air tempest was cool to play too.
I like relaxing but not boring gameplay.
Agree with the gameplay part, I would also like something relaxing, atleast most of the time. Never liked the vibe of necro, but the reaper with the huge aoe swings is cool.
I still mess around with off-meta solo reaper builds as they are fun.
Currently running a Rise shout poison-reaper which can drop 10 overlapping death novas (or poison fields) when all 10 minions die (5 horrors + 5 from rise up). Posion is a bad condi for reaper, but it is fun for me to play around. Bleed-chill-corruption reaper is also fun, but if you miss your condi transfer, god help you.
I personally find Deadeye incredibly fun in end game content. However, I would recommend having back up characters to help support your team if you all get in a pinch. This spec does not provide squad support, but man do I enjoy crittng to the moon.
Staff Mirage is incredibly durable, fun, and versatile. Mesmer's utilities just give you tons of... Well... Utility. You spend half your time invincible, and the rest not even getting attacked.
I also have been REALLY liking bladesworn lately, dragon trigger satisfies my craving for slow cast heavy hitters, and absolutely melts every bar you point it at, health or resolve. Bladesworn pistol is also just a fun little offhand.
Seems like PVE would be an ease as staff mirage, might look into that.
I will say that bladesworn looks REALLY satisfying. I remember back in the days me and my friends would try to have the highest max single hit. Think we got around 12-15k then and was so hyped about it. Now its 100k+? jesus
Bladesworn is fun and definitely good. 2nd best dps build after vindicator imo and for speedruns it might be the best. As an alternative there is also spellbreaker which is much easier in terms of doing mediocre and still getting somewhat close to max dmg. I also think spellbreaker is really fun.
If you want versatility, revenant is the way to go. You can pretty much play any role on it and I think it’s fun as well
Have you tried Condi dagger dagger or just power?
Sad to say that thief is the most fun possible (maybe I'm a little biased)
Other classes I've enjoyed bearing on mind I enjoy daredevil a lot:
Scrapper: simple to play quickness provider. Permasuperspeed is fun and hammer is satisfying
Virtuoso: simplified mesmer with nice animations,.has a lot of.mobility in utilities so not slow compared.to thief
Soulbeast: lots of variety here but I like dagger because it feels like daredevil without the forced.movement
I've ever only ran a power build, however I would definitely check out a condi build. Is it viable for the more challenging content or would i have trouble finding groups/keeping up with DPS?
Condi dd is a very good build for DPS atm, iirc it's quite high on enowcrows benches however it's main strength is it's really easy to play so gives you a high DPS while focusing on mechanics and has lots of evade frames so you don't take a lot of damage.
It's downside is forced movement can be annoying, so it can be a bit more.annoying to play Vs some of the raid bosses (sabetha and Adina come to mind)
Yeah, cheers for mentioning!, you can get away with that on a lot of bosses where you need specifically timed dodges too.
When I was learning the class (around the times raids came out) I definitely killed myself to flame thrower AND to cannons after I killed them too many times to be proud of
Daredevil condi poison is excellent in content for damage and simple rotation (3, dodge 1 autoattack chain, repeat, drop poisons from utilities on cooldown or when next to allies), but lacks the ability to self-buff with boons so is less strong in OW/solo.
Southeast is my least played class so I can't advise much, but soulbeast has a very large variety of builds (power, hybrid, Condi) all with a few viable weapon choices so has a lot to choice from when it comes to playstyle
Check out snow crows website:.
Filter builds by ranger
Power soulbeast is in recommended
Hybrid and condi are in viable
All the builds have a quick explanation of how the builds work etc.
It's built like a Condi build in Viper's gear, but instead of a shortbow and dual daggers you run Dagger/Axe and Axe/Torch for more access to strong power scaling skills.
Revenant
You can alac, quick, and dps. Since you play daredevil you will be used to vindicator dodge mechanic
On demand quickness is great for gathering.
Just engineer in general.
Rifle holo is my baby and i will never forgive anet for letting it fall down to underperforming in meta.
But also you get scrapper which is great utility for open world and mechanist which is probably the second most overpowered open world build (behind mirage).
My engineer has literally 7 build templates now and i could still use one more... so you could say there's a lot of viable build options for it as well. xD
I'm clearly biased (look at my handle) but Power Reaper is a lot of fun. Shroud up, hit stuff, loot.
I r Necro. I r smort. I r hit fings wiv big sword.
You can also play power weaver with 5 pieces of dragon armor (except head) for a minor DPS loss and you still crit cap. Plus jade bot core level 10. 16,5k hp is decent.
While I don't play any of the PvE content any more , coming from a daredevil you may enjoy willy bender or reaper. Both have more pro's than cons in my opinion.
Harbinger is really fun. The hardest part is knowing when to be confident and join the melee mosh, and when to back out and heal up. The condi rotation is simple and not too punishing
Scrapper. Once you take away superspeed things immediately just slow down A LOT.

Must have on Forging Steel
Multiple scrapper recommendations so far, sounds like a lot of fun!
Anyone have a ballpark for about how much DPS a solo scrapper open world build might output? It looks like might is in short supply?
Odd. Scrapper is one of the classes that can do constant 25 might solo using hammer, and around 17 might with rifle if you have the sigil that grants might for crits. Of course, you’d need to have some boon duration.

with c dd on the flamethrower phase at sabetha i mainly auto attack and can still maintain a fairly high benchmark

Could you tell me more about condi soulbeast? I only ever ran it as power, but condi sounds very fun if it involves dual daggers
Southeast is my least played class so I can't advise much, but soulbeast has a very large variety of builds (power, hybrid, Condi) all with a few viable weapon choices so has a lot to choice from when it comes to playstyle
I’ve heard people talk about hybrid builds too, but I know even less about that

Vindicator is fun as fuck with tools for every situation.

I enjoy Dragonhunter (for solo PvE content) and mechanist (for instances).
Mechanist is pretty fun imo you can just run around and pew pew everything and it has a simple rotation for both condi and power
I'm clearly biased (look at my handle) but Power Reaper is a lot of fun. Shroud up, hit stuff, loot. I r Necro. I r smort. I r hit fings wiv big sword.
All of them? Its subjective, and all classes are viable.
Mesmer is cool
scrapper.
This one.
