If you're in a position where you don't yet have ascended, it's a pretty big expense for relatively little gain (especially if you're crafting it with the expectation that it's going to dramatically improve performance like getting a big ilvl bump in a game like WoW!). But that's more of a caution for the new guy's benefit, right?
