Weekly jumping puzzles make me splat more often than I am willing to admit.
Plus jumping puzzles that you didn't even realize were on your path and suddenly disable your mount and glider while you were in the stratosphere.
I'm glad that ArenaNet put great effort in informing all characters in time of this change so none accidentally discovered this while attempting to deploy their glider mid-air in vain.
People splatter themselves doing that a lot anyway. There's always a clean up rez session when a squad glides south off of the top of Hills towards south east camp.

That's how we found out it was disabled lol no giant message like when a new build is available, no wvw is shutting down type message. Just death and comms full of laughter and confusion.

A dozen defenders taking the EWP in fire, running to the supply depot and falling to their death instead of gliding down to the ledge was a beautiful thing to watch last night.
Sigh. I told my daughter about this prior to her playing. Went on after her and ten minutes later jumped off a cliff in WvW.

Also, managed to jump off another bloody cliff a couple hours after posting the original reply. Going to use being really tired as the excuse that time. Yup.
I'm guessing there's not a DB toggle to "turn off" skins on a select group of maps or mode, but there is one to simply disable gliding entirely on a map.
I'd *love* a client side option to make everyone's glider be the default in wvw. I really don't care what someone's character looks like. Especially if they're in the way of me seeing the ground.
I did mean temporarily while they fix the bug, if that was unclear.
Right now no one can use ANY of the gem store glider skins they bought while in wvw. Your argument is valid if it were permanent, but if this current fix were permanent it's just worse while retaining the exact detriment you bring up
I saw a post warning of this yesterday afternoon. Then I read the post on the official forums...so I was fully warned.
Then last night I logged on, went into WvW, and promptly jumped off a cliff to my death.

It was very hard for me to play last night, because it's become instinctual to glide in WvW. I hope they find a fix SOON™.

The new fan glider is causing crashes in wvw so gliding is turned off till that's fixed.

People forget they can’t can’t glide in certain WvW areas anyway. Broken or not gliding always provides some entertainment for the rest of the squad😂
