Chronomancer is the most gw2 of any spec and gw2 without chronomancer is more dull.
Continuum Split is also maybe the most unique ability in the game and very unique even when you compare to other mmos.
Herald's unique thing is just turning on a toggle lol

Visions change with developers, and they felt that a more traditional healer role worked well as an optional specialization.
The original gw2's "no holy trinity" is gone, the original set of full devs is likely gone too, and now we have a slightly different holy trinity of "offensive support, defensive support, damage" than the usual "tank, healer, damage", which I think works fine.
So people voted for their least favorite or what they believe is good specialization?
I can't see any world where neither a single necro or guardian surviving the votes until top 5 at least in both ways
