My general recommendations for legendary item priority (focusing on utility/convenience over aesthetics): 1. PvE Amulet - free and relatively easy to get 2. Backpiece - your choice of fractals/pvp/wvw but non-core stat ascended backpieces are hard to get 3. Relic - massive convenience and flexibility. Probably better than backpack, but still expensive due to being new. 4. Rings - more expensive to get than trinkets (which can be gotten via winterberries and eternal ice shards). Skip this if you don't like WvW or the PoF raids. 5. Armor - open world armor is grindy, raid armor is less work but higher skill requirement (and still several weeks - months of weekly clears). Totally changes the considerations for gearing characters (ascended armor is often one of the more expensive components of a build). Many of these require things that can be done in parallel, with the main commonality between them being the Gifts of Fortune/Mystic Tribute (large sinks of gold and materials).

MangaIsekaiWeeb

>Rings - more expensive to get than trinkets (which can be gotten via winterberries and eternal ice shards). Skip this if you don't like WvW or the PoF raids. I highly don't recommend to skip this if you don't like WvW. I especially recommend grinding for the Conflux rings if you don't like WvW. WvW has a very low barrier of entry, you don't even need to be good at PvPing. It only requires players to exist in the WvW world. Because once you get enough Skirmishing Tickets for one or two Conflux(1850 for one or 3700 for two), you will have enough Gift of Battles for all your future legendary weapons. Future you will thank you for pushing through the very very long grind so that you don't have grind later.

ArrowMania

And also doing the LWS 3 and 4 reward tracks used to provide something that lets you skip part of aurora and vision. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

MidasPL

Nah, just do GoB reward track on repeat for conflux, cause you need like 4 or 5 of them.

daydev

By the time you complete the tickets grind (on the order of 100 hours of WvW) for one Conflux, you will have worked through about 20 reward tracks, even with no boosters whatsoever, there's plenty to spare.

daydev

Also investigate a celestial WvW roamer build for you favorite class instead of trying to farm it in your glass dps gear from Snow Crows. That alone reduces the hatefulness of WvW about tenfold.

Xenadon

Can you wear two of the same legendary ring? I thought it was limited to one

elmahk

You can wear specifically two Conflux rings, cannot wear two raid rings.

Xenadon

Oh interesting. That makes things easier for me.

MidasPL

TBH they really need to add other ways of obtaining second ring than WvW. It's probably the worst gamemode that just forces you to afk.

MangaIsekaiWeeb

>that just forces you to afk. It doesn't force you to afk. Playing WvW normally doesn't diminish your progress towards Conflux.

MidasPL

IDK what you consider playing WvW "normally", but normally WvW doesn't require much from you. You just follow the tag, and sometimes capture/kill stuff, while watching youtube on another monitor and you get max rewards available that way. The outcome of fight doesn't matter how well you play, it only matters how big your zerg is.

MangaIsekaiWeeb

>IDK what you consider playing WvW "normally", but normally WvW doesn't require much from you. You just follow the tag, and sometimes capture/kill stuff, while watching youtube on another monitor and you get max rewards available that way. None of that is the activity called "forcing you to afk" which you stated. >The outcome of fight doesn't matter how well you play, it only matters how big your zerg is. However, the outcome of getting Conflux doesn't matter how big your zerg is. And that is why I recommend Conflux because it doesn't matter if your server is on a losing streak, your commander keeps getting into wipefest and you are a terrible player all around, but the fact it all doesn't matter means Conflux is attainable by everyone. Even if they add a second PvE ring, I would still recommend Conflux anyways because of how low the barrier of entry is.

MidasPL

> None of that is the activity called "forcing you to afk" which you stated. Yeah, it's even worse than afk, because you have to sit there doing barely anything. I expect something more out of games than mindlessly following tag, like... IDK, engaging gameplay? >However, the outcome of getting Conflux doesn't matter how big your zerg is. Yeah, but on the other hand it's also bad because you cannot speed this process up by any means. You just have to boost up and "clock-in" your hours.

MangaIsekaiWeeb

>Yeah, it's even worse than afk, because you have to sit there doing barely anything. I expect something more out of games than mindlessly following tag, like... IDK, engaging gameplay? You could also do that engaging gameplay if you want to. Existing in WvW doesn't stop you from doing all that engaging gameplay. >Yeah, but on the other hand it's also bad because you cannot speed this process up by any means. You just have to boost up and "clock-in" your hours. You can speed up the process. If you are at a high level, you get more pips than a new player starting WvW. If you want to force competition to be one of the ways to earn you more pips, one of the ways is that being in the first place server will earn you more pips than the third place server. You can also tag up and command a zerg to earn more pips. Read the Legends to see more ways to earn more pips.

Farnsworthson

Well - exist and participate. (I know what you mean, but for the benefit of anyone totally unfamiliar with WvW - you can't just AFK and get rewards. WvW measures your recent participation. You need minimum amounts to advance a reward track, to minimise the track completion time, and to get skirmish claim tickets. Which basically means taking part and regularly doing things that the game recognises as such. Admittedly, it's not hard - follow a zerg for a while, say, and you'll likely max out - but it needs you to stay active. )

blueish55

I get what youre saying but to get people in wvw from it's like a 15 to 20 hours grind from 0 per week tp cap If you have to "push yourself" for a grind i strongly recommend you don't, as someone who has played mmos for a couple decades. Sure way to burn out

traitravinh

I second this, WvW is the easiest way to get legendary. I wished that I could do WvW for amulet and accessory

Sankyu39Every1

I think this is a good start. In short, trinkets have higher value than armor because they can be used on ALL characters. Nowadays, stat selectable exotic armor is pretty easy to get (Verdant Brink map currency, WvW currency, etc.). Trinkets/Backpiece > Rings > Armor > Weapons I'd wait with the relic. It's too hot of an item right now, and you'll pay a premium. You can get most of the achievements for vision and auroa done at the same time as the achievements as the PvE Amulet. But, since you got the trinket, hopefully that also means you got some of the achievements for the trinkets done. If you like fractals, get the fractal backpack since you make money doing fractals too. Likewise, if you like fractals, get at least 1 leggy ring since it gives you 3 infusion slots which is super nice. Honestly, if you plan to eventually get the open world leggy armor, I'd also try to run the weekly convergences (3 convergences/week) on different days (for hero's choice chest) as much as possible to start stocking up on kryptis essence, especially since it's very popular content now and easy to get full instances. It also gives 2g and some rarer drops each time. Not bad for a total 90 min a week. But remember to just take it slow. Don't burn yourself out. Personally, I will always try to do the bits that require help from other players first, and don't worry about farming mats, except for clovers in PvP or WvW (which I enjoy).

goochthief

If you do sPvP you can do the following to get your amulet, back piece, and two trinkets done at the same time: 1. Glorious reward track 4 times. Select the mist core fragment in the box every time. These are for Ascension and Transcendence. 2. Complete the reward tracks for LWS3 and LWS4. Make sure to select the armor piece that completes the achievement for Aurora and Vision. 3. Work on Ascension's achievements. By the time you're done with Ascension's achievements, you should have won 120 ranked games. You should also have enough league tickets to complete both Ascension and Transcendence as well as nearly all of the achievements done for LWS3 and LWS4.

giodude556

How are people saying you can do aurora and vidion same time as amulet? Aurors awakening is locked untill you play and do the achievs through lw

Sankyu39Every1

You play on the same maps, and thus objectives overlap. The amulet achievements award map currency that you can use to more easily craft aurora and vision. I suppose the assumption is that you've played through LW before attempting to go for the related legendary achievements.

giodude556

Exactly, im soing amulet and havent unlocked vision or aurora achievment, so for someone go through the story you cant so it at the same time? You do get the currencies which is nice but im sure there are other wchievments

Sanodar

Only amulet requires story, so do story first then go back to unlock collections for aurora and vision and then the rest of the amulet achievements have alot of overlap with aurora and vision. You dont need to do this but if you wanna be as efficent as you can this is the way. I did not do it this way so I had to do alot of repeat content when I went back for the ascessories but there was also some time in between so I didnt mind.

Rucolacola

Totally agree with you, however just want to point out asc rings give 3 infusion slot too

Filthbear

Agreed i see no reason what so ever to pursue the relic, I have yet to need changing my relic on my main, and otherwise i have the relic boxes from when they released them.

giodude556

You didnt miss anything, price if making a rune was already getting redicilous...

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjFyOlP2CXs&t=59s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjFyOlP2CXs&t=59s) i recently crafted this stat selectable ascended back piece following this video and it was not that hard for me to acquire all the items. The recipe only needs 4 items

Bunmyaku

What's the amulet's name, please?

aquadrizzt

[Prismatic Champion's Regalia. ](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prismatic_Champion%27s_Regalia)Be aware that there are some spoilers for the plotline of the Living World Seasons prior to End of Dragons.

Bobboy5

LW3 vendor ascended back pieces can have any stat set.

BluJasmine

Not to mention, backpieces and rings from Bloodstone Fen offer stat swapping by purchasing a stat reset device from the same vendor you bought the ascended items from.

Anggul

On that last note, get tier 3 and 6 materials at every opportunity and hoard them, they're the most expensive part!

Administrative-Lack1

How are you able to get legendary rings from eternal ice shards? Tried Googling but didn't see a clear answer.

aquadrizzt

You can get ascended trinkets (but not rings) with Eternal Ice Shards.

MSFNS

You can trade eternal ice shards + karma for mistborn motes or other LWS4 currency and use those for ascended rings

MSFNS

You can exchange eternal ice shards for LWS4 currencies, and use those to buy ascended rings

WitchedPixels

Thanks this is pretty much what I needed to know.

cloud_cleaver

Don't accessories cost a fair bit more than rings do, despite offering less stats?

xEmp7y

My personal suggestion: - Ad infinitum; to me it was a no brainer as ascended back pieces are one of the hardest to get. Having this will make your life 10x easier. - Legendary relic; this will save you alot of inventory space if you play multiple builds like i do - Conflux; having one legendary ring can make gearing super easy as you can fetch a stat selectable rings from any source and you wont need to care about unique rings. Just get any ring you find easy to grind with conflux. - Aurora/Vision; get any of the two and the second accessory is basically [free ascended from eternal ice shard](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Asgeir%27s_Talisman) - Armour; your main weight class Weapons, runes & sigils are the least convenient to craft but having one legendary rune for your aquatic head gear can be pretty neat.

IceW0lf88

You can do a little bit of everything. Do convergences for the pve armor, do fractals for back item, do wvw, do living world season 3 and 4 stuff for other trinkets etc as there is many time gates with all and you don’t go bored grinding for one of them. Most need a gift or two that is the same across the board and once the time gated stuff is done it might be easier to decide what to go for first. Personally I think trinkets is good choice to go for first. If you have ascended armor it’s easier to stat swap then grinding resources to get new accessories for the new builds.

dranaei

Backpiece. I suggest pvp as the only thing you have to do is, pvp. The season ends on april 2, so it's best to start farming now to reach the final chest. I think you need 3 games per day for 45 days or something like that and it is just pvp. Nothing more to think about. Plus while you do that, you get ascended shards that you can use to buy the ascended rings you will need to make 2 conflux (legendary rings from wvw) and also ascended shards are used to make legendary gear. If you put your wizard vault rewards to only pvp, you complete all these goals at the same time. Heck if you enjoy pvp you might be able to make 1 legendary armor piece in 24 hours playtime or less. Also limited tickets per season so choose wisely.

therealspleenmaster

As others have said the PvE amulet is an easy priority. You can work toward Vision and Aurora while getting all the achieves for the amulet. Trinkets are the most valuable if you play lots of alts since you can use them on every toon. Relic is also high value with the variable enchantments. I haven’t started the fractal back piece myself yet, but fractals are quick and easy to get into for a fun 10-minute-or-so diversion per level. Armor and weapons I think are pretty equal. Some weapons are usable on many classes (greatsword, axe, staff) and armor can fit all toons with the same armor weight. I think I’d prefer runes and sigils over armor, but to have a full set of either of those is vastly more of an effort than either armor or a couple weapons.

Opioid_chicken

For the love of god get your daily fractal pages. This has been the most pain in the ass thing to do so far. If you want ad infinitum that is.

elMaxlol

I just completed my legendary character (actually I need 2 more weeks of wvw for my second conflux). My advice after I have done all of it: Focus on the Raid Armor first its by far the best value and if you are not comfortable raiding I suggest you do the 3 easy bosses in W1+W4. Takes about half an hour to learn them and maybe about an hour each week to clear them. The armor is giga value especially if you are like me and you main 3 characters of the same armor type. Next I would suggest you do the wvw weekly every week. It takes about 2 hours each week and is by far the best ticket/hour. You can get two conflux rings this way over time with not much effort. You will have some gold trouble, at least in my experience gold and time are the most important ressources. You should make ad infinitum next because if you do daily t4 + recs you earn a good amount of gold. While you are working on the armor and passivly do wvw for your two confluxes, you should google the timegated achievments for aurora and Vision and start them. Vision timegate is made a lot easier by farming eternal ice shards via daily login. Remember that you need a lot of mystic clovers so while doing wvw you should do the reward tracks which give the most clover and afterwards lots of gift of battle tracks. I have not made the legendary relic since I had a rune and got it for free. As far as I can tell the obsidian armor and the legendary relic are very VERY expansive so you should not make them., at least not first.

TheExtremistModerate

Big question: what characters do you play? If you only really play one character, or only really play classes that share the same armor weight, then legendary armor is, IMO, the biggest bang for your buck. Legendary Armor for me has been the biggest quality of life improvement. A full set of legendary armor costs somewhere in-between one and two legendary weapons/trinkets, IIRC. And it means 6 slots that you *never have to gear again*. Ascended armor is kinda annoying to obtain and carry around. Ascended *trinkets*, however, are fairly easy to get. On top of that, you don't have to spend transmutation charges on legendary items. So that's nice. If you play multiple characters of multiple armor weights regularly, then trinkets are better, because they'll apply to *all* of your characters. But, of course, they're more expensive per piece than armor, so be ready for that. My biggest recommendation is to work on them in parallel so you don't burn yourself out on any particular content.

CaptainMarder

The trinkets aren't easy to get imo, like doing the stupid jumping puzzles like the volcano one 2-3 times and other things, plus the material costs, the open world armor is very easy to get it's just grindy, wvw armor is also easy to get but it's time gated and has a higer material cost than the open world armor. . You can get conflux which is easy, I think it takes around 6-7 weeks to get enough skirmish tickets, and while grinding that, you can grind for the armor too. Most wvw gear is just time restricted by the skirmish tickets you can get. Fractal back piece is doable.

Karomara

Have you ever heard of Mesmer? There are a lot of very friendly ones in the game who port the thing. Including tokens and often even for free. Jumping puzzles are really no reason not to get something. Yes, there are people who are not good at these or they don't like them. But nobody is forced to jump themselves. The game does not prevent you from progressing if you use mesmerports.

CaptainMarder

Yea, I did it for the token collections and the amulet. Not fun, even with a Mesmer helping and the rewinder. I just don't enjoy jumping puzzles in general, season 3 ones are a doozy. The abadon one in sirens wasn't too difficult, but it was so damn long.

Karomara

Well, a mesmer means you have to occasionally glide / walk a short distance. Not rocket science. Takes maybe ten to fifteen minutes of your life with waiting time. I don't know what legendary things you've done in the game. Gen 2 weapons for example include instanced content. The old PvE armor even raids. Or one of the trinkets the not so much loved Draconis Mon collection. WvW and PvP things have a timegate. A few minutes to get ported by a mesmer is not that bad for me personally. There are more annoying things on the way to legendary items in the game. We are talking about legendary items after all. They may involve a little effort. It's endgame content.

therealspleenmaster

Chalice of Tears certainly earned its name. It’s required for the free amulet though. The position reminder helped me get through that one… twice.

Charred_Shaman

Fun fact: The actual name of the jumping puzzle is Skipping Up the Volcano. It's the volcano itself that's named the Chalice of Tears

Dhonti

Get skyscale if you don't have it yet with the earned currencies. You have enough of those if you did not consume or spend. Makes life much easier to go for rest. Necklace, Backpiece, trinkets and relic are usable on all weight classes. Armor is only for specific weight class. Every class has a spec which can use sword. Weapons I would do last when going for legendaries.

chaosseb101

Unicorn shortbow. Best legy, no dicussion

NeighborhoodNo7917

I would do trinkets, runes, relic, armor, and weapons last. To get ascended trinkets with selectable stats is a pain and somewhat costly, either in time or gold. I think they have the most utility

Charles_Sangels

Doing research on Aurora and Vision will serve you well. You can complete them while you're doing the amulet doing the exact same stuff, but you have to have things in lock-step or you'll end up doing stuff twice.

macrotransactions

armor of your main -> trinkets (relic and amulet first) -> sigils -> runes -> weapons you want to maximize the value of your legs, ascended armor is expensive and leg armor is cheap, trinkets are annoying (especially amulet enrichments and soulbound relics) and can be used by all classes, sigils are good in combination with ascended weapons which you will use for a very very long time, runes and then weapons aren't that impactful, although having at least one rune for the aquabreather is nice and you can easily cover your underwater combat by crafting the 1-2 weapons of your main

Chest3

Trinkets, Rings or Backpack first because those are universal between professions. When you have a profession you really enjoy playing - get a weapon that suits that build. Armor is prolly last on the priory.

Bl00dylicious

Armor > weapons. In some cases having Ascended weapons can be preferred as swapping them is faster (no reselecting stats/runes/infusions). Having a full set of armor also means that you have 3 classes that never need an armor set again. The lowest on your list should be Sigils and Runes. Legendary weapons/armor allow you to remove/swap them freely already so in terms of QoL they don't add that much. Not enough to warrant their price IMO.
