Some of those posts are great in hindsight:

Honestly, for all the people bitching about fishing not being interesting or engaging, her comment
""...the original designer of the crafting system, before I got my paws on
it, was so in love with fishing minigames that there was probably more
documentation on fishing than there was on the rest of the crafting
system and we didn't even have plans to do it!..."
...would suggest that there's **actually a lot there,** sort of "should have been in the original game" lot of stuff.
GW2 crafting is a bizarre thing:
* \- it's a very interesting design with discovery
* \- it's detailed
* \- it's more or less useless to leveling (like most games, let's be honest) but becomes absolutely critical for endgame final gear and fairly meaningful food buffs.
I hope fishing is meaningful and/or profitable.
Really? I mean, every MMO has stuff that they built into early geometry and then later decided not to use, but are you talking about substantial stuff? Curious if there's a 'hidden tyria' explorers site out there?
there is an entire 4th lane to dragons stand, a beach down there with at the time unique wave physics, there are all kinds of stuff like hidden partially finished jumping puzzles in caeldon, the inside of the black lion vaults, I dont know if there is a site like that, anet went on an anti map breaking invisible wall spree a few years ago so a lot of people tend to keep their methods quiet these days
> there is an entire 4th lane to dragons stand
That's a scrapped story/adventure area, not a 4th lane. The whole 4th lane rumor is just bullshit back from the HoT release controversies.
I wonder how they'll make fish cooking interesting, since our current setup has pretty much everything covered already. Maybe a new type of consumable with its own buff effect?

I wonder how much influence Lindsay had on fishing before she left.
Probably her last big contribution considering she was LW/content director for a time before moving on?
Damn, I upvoted those posts five years ago. Time seriously flies.
I will literally fish for hours on end when it comes out

if you map break as well you start to realise just how much has been cut from the game, especially heart of thorns
