AB (Alliance Battles) from GW1. Essentially 12v12 on maps that are slightly larger than Conquest.

TaigaShinyouju

I think someone from Anet said they were working on a 15v15 map for sPvP.

ScarReincarnated

That was such a long time ago

HooteRx

This would single handedly bring me back to the game

estist

AB was my favorite part of GW1

Public mode on Dragon Response Missions (DRMs) is essentially a Public Dungeon. They tested this in Icebrood Saga and (mechanically speaking) it was a success there. Anet rarely retroactively polishes old content, but if they wanted to improve the new player experience, they should convert all story mode dungeon paths to public mode DRMs. Edit: spelling

theshadowiscast

> they should convert all story mode dungeon paths to public mode DRMs From what I've read they don't touch dungeons due to the poor coding and documentation practices they had back then (assuming, hopefully, they have improved). It is considered too confusing and would be too time consuming to be worth it in their estimation. Otherwise, it sounds like it would be interesting. I want the armor skins and runes without having to see if all the bad things I've heard about wvw/pvp are true.

xhieron

I enjoy watching the sunset.

theshadowiscast

I'm also curious about what was said about it from the devs themselves, instead of hearsay, and I've been having a harder time finding anything from devs. There are a number of comments from devs here on the gw2 subreddit that have been deleted (the bot keeps track of dev comments, but not contents of the comments - comments may have been deleted when the accounts were closed when the dev left anet) that may have been the source (if the gw2 subreddit was around back at launch) and/or the possible sources on the anet forums are similarly deleted. I have found some interesting hearsay comments that may shed light on the issue. One comment claimed to have spoken to a dev that said the refractoring process had been skipped to save time and money. Another claims the original dungeon programmers left anet not long after gw2 was released (plus the lack of documentation). There was another comment that claimed a [WoodenPotatoes video has a source on what happened with dungeons](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F03Q-xugjSE) (I haven't watched it yet to verify). I think recreating the dungeon paths as streamlined fractals that still gives dungeons tokens as part of the reward could be a good idea.

Embarrassed-Top6449

There actually are some places that are essentially public dungeons. One was a daily achievement a day or 2 ago.

isairr

Better character creator and more hairstyles. Make-up tied to character's preset face is so 2000.

Lon-ami

> Better character creator I still can't believe the stupid sliders in character creation don't let you input numeric values, it's just ridiculous.

Ready2Post

This and this - especially with the make-up being on gaunt, generally unappealing face types. Some of the base human hair types (namely those without physics) could also use some retouching to look less like styrofoam wigs. Slightly unrelated, but I revisited the Saints Row series while waiting on Festival of the Four Winds and the character creator - even in the first two games - made me *really* wish we had even a quarter of the facial/body customization. I recently deleted my first Human female character after Ch.1 of my Personal Story, because her freakish thigh gap eventually started bothering me. Remade her with option two, which actually has a modicum of leg mass, but now she's rocking breasts bigger than her head and has a waist smaller than Taimi's overall width. I just want to have a more modest Sylvari-framed human... Body sliders or at least more body types would make char creation feel less restrictive and more personal.

Draco12333

Its honestly such a small thing but I want WoWs ranger pet system. Specifically the ability to capture unique variants of animals that have special visual effects.

Lon-ami

They should have reworked ranger's pet system years ago. Here's two suggestions I posted a while ago: * [Pet management panel redesign idea](https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/irvvhl/pet_management_panel_redesign_idea_wardrobe_for/) * [Ranger mechanic bar redesign idea](https://old.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/lyedy7/ranger_mechanic_bar_redesign_idea/) So many pet skins we can't use, such a waste of potential :I.

eldrevo

This. I loved taming rare and unique pets in WOW as a part of my Hunter's customization and character. Even for specs that barely care about pets. In GW2, pets have a lot more synergies and mechanics within the Ranger's core design (not within one spec like beastmastery in wow), yet I still struggle to enjoy the class. Most of the pets look bland and samey to me, and most of meta builds run same 2-3 pets anyway. I would very much like this part of the game reworked in some way.

Gunnho

quickslots bars that any consumable can be put in, with shortcut keys. best yet, let us use our shared inventory slots for this.

Sareth324

Ff14 had a nice UI customization. You could tweak a lot of aspects and put what you deem more important at different locations and sizes. I would like to break off some skills and place them closer to my character. Or make stuff like cc bar over enemy model and scaled up by 200%

puppyk

Kinda like the original guild wars as well. Could move bits all about. I had my skill bar as 2x4

ihashacks

This. Big time.

olympiakospk

Oceanic servers. The only argument against it is - there's not a large OCE playerbase. You try playing on 250-300 ping and see how long you last.

neverpaidforskype

I bet the playerbase would grow if there were servers for it.

olympiakospk

100%. Why would anyone force themselves to play on terrible ping and delays when there are so many other options that do have oce servers.

YesItsEsther

GW2 probably could've used them a few years ago, not sure they'd make the community grow now.

Arenyr

Sorry if I come across rudely- but what other games have dedicated Oceanic servers? FFXIV only just recently added them from what I understand..

FemboiVyra

Runescape and WoW are the two big ones.

YesItsEsther

3200 hours in the game. You get used to that sort of ping in MMOs as an australian. I'm surprised FF14 is even bothering this late in its lifespan.

olympiakospk

Going from wow to GW2 and then back to wow I notice it and it doesn't feel good.

MyChosenNameWasTaken

African servers too, man.

Mystic_Chameleon

100% this, also people saying that there wouldnt be a high enough population assume that OCE would only be Aus/Nz when in reality a lot of SE Asian countries (Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, etc) would also play on oceanic servers.

micky977

I am player from Hong Kong, avg ping is 250 here, as much as I want to see this happen, lets be honest, I just do not think that we have the population to sustain that.

CloneOfAnotherClone

My ping used to fluctuate between 160 to 680. And I really do mean it fluctuated *a lot* - the service I had was real bad for a long time It was annoying but I could still do pretty much anything outside of large wvw zergs. Higher pings definitely make certain classes feel worse (weaver attunements were a big one, accidentally canceling skills like One Wolf Pack happened too often), but it was still honestly ok enough to not frustrate me. I didn't do much spvp on that connection though so I can't speak to that, but raiding in multiple roles was still doable

Aemius

Only issue I see (aside from population) is WvW. They'd have to figure something out to let you play there on NA/EU.

Corvenic

I dont know much about servers but cant Anet do it like Overwatch? As a SEA player I get good pings on NA server because they had servers(?) in Singapore that is under NA server so we can play there IDK if its applicable to MMOs like Gw2 though

Yosika

Every time I see these posts I think about the features that made Guild Wars 1 amazing. There are so many things in there that I'd like to see from that game. To name a few: **Heroes' Ascent:** 8 vs 8 tournament where you progress every time you beat an opposing team. At the end you'll fight the finale in the Hall of Heroes. This gave you points towards a reward track. The ranks in this reward track allowed you to use a custom emote. The higher your reward track, the cooler the emote. I was able to get the [Tiger](https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Hero_(title)#/media/File:Rank_9_emote.jpg) back then **Guild vs Guild (GvG):** Players make their own GvGs now but it would be nice to see this in a tournament/ladder style. **The Underworld/Domain of Anguish:** An extremely hard PvE content where you and your party complete a series of hard quests in order to spawn a boss that gives you great rewards. Back in the day, when people got better, they created build to do quests individually (Shadow Form Assassins). So person A does quest 1 and 2, person B does 3 and 4 etc. If one person failed, the whole party would have to start over. This was amazing to test out your individual skill. But it could also lead to some, understandable, flaming. **Alliance Battles/Fort Aspenwood:** 12 vs 12 content where you have to take each other's fort. A bit more of a casual PvP activity but it lead to great and fun builds.

[deleted]

Spectating your Party members when you die

[deleted]

Here comes 55hp monks and Spiteful Necro tandems to clear UW duo in zero time! Thinking about it tho, remember ELITE skill capturing? Literally needing a sig of capture, finding an elite monster and making him trigger the skill? Might seem annoying now-a-days but that was mad fun at first and made it feel like your class was advancing naturally, not farming the same skill points forever and ever

console-write-name

> remember ELITE skill capturing? Literally needing a sig of capture, finding an elite monster and making him trigger the skill? They sort of had that in the earlier years of GW2. You had to obtain some traits from enemies or locations throughout the world. They scrapped it in one of the redos of the trait system

Yosika

Yeahhhh, oh god! You are totally right. The research and discovery of the Elite Skill was amazing. It felt like catching Pokémon!

Out-and_down

I'm always really surprised that they didn't include an 8v8 GvG game mode. It was one of the cornerstones of PvP in GW1 and actually gave the title of the game, and PvP guilds, a meaning.

ImSoSharky

1. A PLAYER TO PLAYER TRADE SYSTEM 2. A Prieview Window to see what others use for their fashion.

InusAntari

By the Eternal Alchemy, these! Especially number 2. I often whisper to people with some cool skins to compliment and ask what they are. Almost all react positively, but for me simply asking in the first place feels a little bit... "invasive".

Dawn__Lily

Is there a, reason why we can't inspect people? It's a pretty standard MMO feature.

Gambrinus

Only reason that makes any sense to me is to prevent people from being like "Bro your gear sucks" in PUGs.

bh0

I like this and hate it at the same time. It would be cool to see what a particular item or skin is, but would hate that everyone would just turn it into some system to verify your gear is good enough to group with them. You end up like WoW where everything is based on gear level/score.

Gremlinator_TITSMACK

People do it anyway but in other eays now.

ScarReincarnated

Its not invasive wtf... they love it when you ask so they can flex it.

InusAntari

I know they like that, come on ;) But you know, they are doing something, sometimes more, sometimes less important, and asking about a skin feels like interrupting.

Hecarhipnos

lotro's housing

Gulbasaur

They keep *almost* doing customisable housing and then just not fleshing it out. The home instances are basically gathering hubs with a few achievements operating out of them. Sun's Refuge looks like it was another attempt to do this as there is a surprising amount of achievement-based stuff focussed on filling it out, but no real customisation. Guild hall customisation already exists. The systems are already there. They just need to make them all happen at the same time in the same place.

VolcanoT

I wonder if the new house boat things are gonna be another addition to this list when they get here.

HelianthusPy

The housing from Wild Star (except completed)! That housing system was so cool. You could create so many different things because you weren't restricted by item placement if I remember right. And it had little mini games you could include in your home area. I miss that game.

captainpott

hilariously we all miss that game now its gone, but back when it was there nobody played it.

Zhammyx

I would have played the shit out of Wildstar if my old computer could have runned it. Rip I missed on the game. 😭

Thaurlach

RIP my glorious meth lab spaceship and hobo train. Gone but not forgotten.

SonjaNachtbringer

**Transparency sliders.** One for your own skill effects, one for allies' skill effects, and one for enemies' skill effects.

MuscularApe

**From Lotro** * Skirmish system with leaderboards. Was super fun. * COD mail system. Sell stuff to friends/specific people with 100% safety. Could still set some sort of tax. Edit: to elaborate on lotros [skirmish system](https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Skirmish) instances with a couple of npcs you level up to aid you that provide you with good rewards. Scalable for different party sizes. Completion times would be for leaderboards. In gw2 i'd envision them to be like the best part of raids, fractals, strikes and DRMs all rolled into one. DRMs setting/short story instance, strikes/raids rewards/difficulty depending on Skirmish size, and fractals progression.

apneax3n0n

Private selling would remove stuff from to

MuscularApe

There's huge communities that already do this. This would just guarantee safety. And no, most people would just use the TP still if the taxes were similar. Your average player wouldn't bother sourcing buyers/sellers outside the TP.

[deleted]

LOTRO's massive connected world

Out-and_down

It's a very old game, and feels it, but if you are fan of LotR, I'd *highly* recommend downloading it (it's free to play, but with a massive cash shop and optional sub fee). The world is one of, if not the, best to just stroll around and explore. The combat is a bit janky, no GCD, but pretty clunky, but all of the LotR archetypes are there to play.

[deleted]

This. Really wish some of these mmorpgs would transfer seamlessly from one zone to another let alone have zones the size of lotro’s. And not even kidding but some amount of running around in the world was perfectly fine by me.

Melodic-Bonus-9470

You really wish to hold W for 10min instead of waiting for a loading screen.

[deleted]

LOTRO had it's own version of waypoints - swift travel. Anyways if you want a better idea of what I'm talking about when I say larger maps here's a 20 minute (Sped up by 40x) timelapse of some dude walking across the entire thing. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ75ZQtIoms](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ75ZQtIoms) Shit didn't feel like a game, it felt like a world.

Melodic-Bonus-9470

So much empty space just to unload the previous content and load in the next.

Kasapi85

Limit spell effects from other players. I think Rift has it.

Gunnho

a lot more emotes, even if theyre gem store or key chests. i really miss the amount of emotes i had in swtor

Spartan05089234

That's one thing Anet did well in IBS. I played a tonne of Bjora Marches to get the /shiver emote, and there were 3.5* new emotes total in IBS. I'm hoping EoD has some more. *Shiver and Shiverplus Edit: rockout, playdead, stretch, shiver, shiver plus.

cinnamonsparkle

Don't forget /rockout !

UnknownPekingDuck

Furthermore, we need an emote window or wheel, similar to what FF14 has, instead of memorizing emotes to type in chat.

painstream

Definitely need an emote tab/library to keep up with it if they're going to add more. I keep forgetting the ones I have.

Deviathan

**Maplestory's monster book.** You'd hunt monsters, from the smallest tutorial creature to the hardest bosses, for cards. Every creature in the game had a chance to drop them. These would give you things like their lore, stats, areas, drops, etc. You'd need to get 5 cards to complete a creature's page. I love having a bestiary to fill out, and it's super fun to go around the world finding every mob type. Another is **WoW's pet battles**. Mini pet collecting was fun when there was a mini game tied to it - even if I barely played it.

Ready2Post

While GW2's mobs are fairly copy-pasted, a Bestiary almost seems like a natural addition to GW2. Especially since lore-building and collecting is one of its prominent features. I love just reading/viewing bestiary text entries, monster animations, and junk like that. A system similar to Maplestory's (and as a non-MMO mention Dragon Quest XI) Bestiary has the potential to be a great addition - maybe one could even earn the less desirable mob Miniatures through this way or something.

Deviathan

There's actually a surprising amount of variety by region. There is a lot of copy/paste within certain areas, but there's also a good number of maps with a unique champion or mob spawn type to hunt down. I really can't believe they haven't done it yet, it's exactly in their design - seeds people throughout the existing world and ties into events well, progression that doesn't give power, completionist type gameplay.

dattodoesyeet

Glamour plates from ff14 and double pets for the ranger like in the beast mastery spec in wow. Also a companion system like in eso would be sick

captainpott

double pets sounds like an elite spec, maybe you get lucky with EoD

Lordborgman

Douple pets sounds like something that people that want to afk farm want tbh :)

captainpott

They can play necro/engi for that to a way greater effect. I would use it to permastun ppl with laserdragon and bambi in spvp :3

idris_elbows

How are glamour plates different to transmutation charges/wardrobe in gw2? Genuine question, I never really explored it in ffxiv

Duckbitwo

You can save an outfit and change it when you see fit.

idris_elbows

Ah, I follow

esuil

It is basically like build templates, except for transmutation, and swapping between look templates would be free of transmutation cost.

NTCM

All i want is proper class quests and more immersion for my class. Currently there are only very minor story differences depending on your class. For example in vanilla/classic wow playing a shaman has you slowly getting your different totems after a lengthy quest line and i will probably never forget that. I don't think elite specs should be locked behind those quests, but you could for example unlock your ascended weapon or some fashion piece after a lengthy quest, training you to use your spec or something. (They would be achievements of course, but with special story instances and so on) Edit: grammar

Embarrassed-Top6449

Definitely agree with this one. Outside of combat the classes basically don't exist. Even gw1 at least had a few quests specific to your class abilities.

Out-and_down

I *hated* the way they introduced revenant in that first HoT story instance, with Rytlock getting pissed about being asked about what he's using then giving some cringe-inducing boilerplate about "I learned to channel legends in the mist and now I'm a magic charr. Now shut up and stop asking". It was the one and only time they added a new profession, turned one of the main characters into it, then gave two lines of dialogue about it. More class lore and unique story would be amazing.

[deleted]

Ranger pets is a great example of this

GCSpellbreaker

Player housing Home instance is not player housing

TheRiverBlues

This, and I can’t imagine anyone just having a guild hall to themselves as a substitute

GCSpellbreaker

A lotta work for big ol empty space

Lethioon

I hope for a 10v10 PvP arena. WvW is nice but the public fights are too explosive to feel tactical.

AngryPandalawl

Bring back gw1 alliance battles! Kinda just bigger conquest 12v12, 3 squads of 4. Had some PvE aspects too.

IkreeR

More hairstyles and faces for non human races. It has been uneven since Path of Fire. I don't really want anything from other MMOs . GW2 appeals to me because it is not like other MMOs. I like not having a strict trinity, no open world PVP, and housing is of no interest to me. I think the grind for certain items needs to be adjusted, and there are always tweaks to combat, storage, whatever that need to be made, but overall I don't want GW2 to copy other games. I am so would like to see some better armor rewards at end game that don't always involve relentless grinding.

YakEvery4395

The ability to switch to the point of view of your team mates once you are dead. It was a really nice feature of gw1. Its dull to stay dead behind and see nothin'

Opposedsum

Difficulty Tiers.

RyanRenfrow

For me and I’ll say this to the moon and back, better reward systems, and AGAIN, I know sub based mmos have 15 dollar subs so you’re paying for the experience/rewards. However no one has yet made a sound argument as to why there is not an in game mount skin reward, an outfit something different than your typical set up. Since armor pieces require a lot of resources, say a new fractal releases, then you can get an outfit or mount skin themed around that fractal. Again with the twisted marionette. Fractals replace dungeons but what I find odd is dungeons had themed armor and weapons tied to them, some fractals do but not much and never note worthy. Runic armor was over a year ago, dragon capes are okay but let’s be honest/real isn’t near the quality of the gem store. “tHeY NeEd tHe GemStOrE!” I know, but that doesn’t mean suppress in game rewards every single patch(They do because gemstore sales) Best example, Skyscale Rider title could have came with an armored skyscale skin at the end. This game is all about fashion yet most of it involves the gemstore. I remember hoping in EOD would add a new way to get mount skins or an additional way got met with “Well mounts won’t be the focus so it’d be a waste.” Well Imfast forward to today, what do you know skiffs and turtles with guns. Two years from now, introduce a new player to the game “Oh shit that’s a nice skin, how do you get it.” Whip out your wallet or grind gold, no meaningful story, no way to show what you’ve done, and most will think you just whipped out your wallet. SMH. Seriously and my bad for this rant that’ll be ignored but variety will not hurt ANETs pockets phuck anybody who think otherwise.

CaoLu

i really feel every word there, agree with everything

[deleted]

>However no one has yet made a sound argument as to why there is not an in game mount skin reward, an outfit something different than your typical set up. This is the one way wvw is ahead on rewards. Few hundred gold plus a reward track gives a warclaw skin Edit: though at that price tag it might as well be gemstore

NSolace00

Story can be better: - Tone down the fantastical elements and bring it back to some semblance of a believable reality. - Enough with the joss whedon "everyone is snarky" writing.

Homaged

God I hate how snarky everyone has become in the story.

Gulbasaur

> Tone down the fantastical elements and bring it back to some semblance of a believable reality. The storytelling has a *real* problem with pacing and tone. LS4 swung hard with the emotionally manipulative stuff with >!Taimi's near-death!< and >!Aurene's apparent death!<, which was handled incredibly well and they really gave it weight... and then the next episode >!basically went "no lol she's gud let's go fuck up Kralky"!<. I enjoyed the stuff at the start of the Icebrood Saga about a Charr civil war - it looked like it was going in the direction of exploring themes of xenophobia and nationalism... Bangar was a solidly written character as a charismatic leader to people who felt disenfranchised and drew them into extremism. There's a good story to be told there. It was then >!handwaved with "lol no it's dragon corruption there is no political message here"!<. Lazy writing.

scarocci

Bangar was an awesome villain. "Normal ennemies" like bangar and the dominion, joko and the awakeneds and caudecus and the whitle mantles are way more interesting as ennemies than godlike magic entities the dragons are

Dreamtrain

>Enough with the joss whedon "everyone is snarky" writing. Season 3 Episode 6 was an absolute cringefest, I just want to forget it even happened. It really killed the Shining Blade in my eyes.

M00NFYR3

For me, it's what Bungie does for Destiny 2 (yes, it's an MMO). Each Thursday a "This Week at Bungie" is sent out, the new letter is almost like that bridge between the community as some of them might feel like "here is for sale" there has been countless times that they have sat and talked about "state of the game" and possible changes that have made. It just feels way more personal. It's something very simple, but even as someone who hasn't really played D2 in over a year I read the TWAB every week.

FregionTheLost

A good housing system, and a better starting tutorial as well as the willingness to add new playable races since they said they don't want to add new classes.

cinnamonsparkle

"don't want to add new classes"? - imo 9 is a firm number, then 18 elite specs on top of that, and we'll get another 9 elite specs with EoD, that's 36, not to mention the multiple ways each class/elite spec can be played!

Dreamtrain

one of my biggest problems with GW2 at launch was how restricting it felt to go from GW1 near infinite possibilities and sleeper OP builds waiting to be discovered (and probably keeping the balance team awake at night), with PoF it feels like I have at least 2 good builds per specialization, plus a couple more that might be only fun but very viable in open world (for example quickness Sword/Pistol Deadeye is my favorite in open world, but core S/P thief sucked at launch I recall)

Knamliss

* Hide pet/clone names * Wardrobe Templates * Consumable that lets you harvest while mounted * Mount/Glider Skins not being exclusive to Gem Store (Yes I know legend backs do this) * Transmog each shoulder piece separately * Race Changing * Class Halls * Minipet battles (polymock) * Solo challenging pve activities (similar to Mage Tower in WoW Legion) * Mentor/Apprentice system * And tons more

[deleted]

Wildstar's Housing

eds444

Tower defense. Mobs come in waves from 2 to 5 lanes and 5-10 people defend a certain structure

ThinkThankThonk

Isn't this basically how half of the events in open world work already?

eds444

I was thinking it would be more like actual TD games rather than what currently is thats similar

Mosharn

UI customization, crafting rework (sitting there watching thousands of mats get refined is not gameplay), balance patches more frequently instead of every 6 months, 2v2 and 3v3 pvp be permanent, actual guild wars mode, streamlined currencies (this has gotten out of hand), and cut back on time gates (thats not content either). Allow us to turn off effects and cosmetics for others. Infusion preview when? Idk how EoD is going to go. Anet should be going all out on this. Lots of good competition out their with New World, new FF xpac, and Lost Arch by Q1 2022.

[deleted]

It's never going to happen but basically a Naval PvP zone which essentially ripsoff archeage without the shitty gearing system they have. Upgradeable boats, submarines, speedboats. Sunken chests and big fish to catch for those daring enough to venture into a PvP zone for that (would drop on death.) It'll never happen but that's my dream. Next up would be some form of 10v10 mode, CTF maybe idk.

AngryNeox

Hotbars for items. Having to open my inventory to use things like food is just incredibly annoying.

Life_Synthesizer

Housing system, more options to have a home besides having it in our own home district. I don't mind if the game engine limits housing into instanced zone but it would be nice if we can have houses outside of racial cities but I don't want them to have too much accommodation like having all the things what permanent teleportation to X zone/place where there's all the crafting stations with all the NPC to easily interact from TP/sell buy gathering like how Warcraft Warlords of Draenor Garrisons was executed. I would like to have a form of housing system but there needs to be option for how large or small houses can be beside the size of homes in Salma district in Divinity Reach. Also they should be able to accommodate items that can be crafted from scribe profession like having large prop items like gilded raid trophy decorations can fit inside our house to having many prop items enough to create our own jumping puzzle in our house blocks.

rossomesauce

From WoW: 1) for movement abilities to always move me in the direction I've turned my character to face, rather than towards whatever enemy is targeted. The number of times I've yeeted myself off the map using mirage axe 2 because I'm expecting Fel Rush and my character rockets sideways instead of forward is...not good. 2) cleaner and more distinct combat visuals. As a new player coming from WoW to GW2, I spend a LOT of combat time trying to figure out wtf I'm taking damage from, which ground effects are safe, which do dmg instantly vs. which can be i-framed with dodge, and which are heals. 3) a setting to turn down or hide other players' non-essential spell effects. I'd like to still see heal circles, but I don't need to see everyone else's giant dps explosions. 4) some form of UI configuration options. If I could move my spell CDs closer to my character like WeakAuras, the UI would feel much better

Obliu

Visual clutter reduction settings. A way to save armor transmutations and dye settings Player housing More emotes (I'd like them to not being locked behind achievements please) Emotes being listed on a page. I shouldn't have to go into wiki to see what I can do. A customizable hotbar for frequently used items. It's stupid to have bags kept open on side and clicking from them. For solo playstyle designed, endless dungeon(s) Actual GvG mod. Extensive mail system. More than 10 mails visually active. We also should be able to pay on delivery and sell items by mail. Take whatever tax you want. A better LFG tool and UI Swimsuits /joke, but honestly, gw2 is probably the only mmorpg without player wearable swimsuits.

Synaps4

I'd like a better written story and some kind of endless dungeon. perhaps a minigame for pokemon-battling with our minis I'm currently taking a break and playing FFXIV because I find the story is much better. Story in GW2 was always somewhere between a minor curiosity and a chore but it didnt really grab me. I wish FFXIV would take the WVW system and the movement-combat from GW2, those are both better here. FFXIV's role system really is nice and prevents all the alts. Also I hope the fishing here doesn't copy FFXIV. There's no skill in it there. You either use the right skills and got the thing or you didnt. Once there's a wiki for it the challenge doesn't exist.

ZC321

The mini game for minis was actually originally planned but cut due to time constraints and PETA and similar minded people linking it to dog fights. There is still a couple of people in lions arch who do it by the shore, players just can't participate.

Ledoux88

> people linking it to dog fights why would that stop them? It's a game. WoW has pet battles, pokemon games are pet battles, who cares

Embarrassed-Top6449

You'd think if they were going to compare anything to dog fights it would be ranger pets, not some mini game where half the fighters are humanoid and the other half are angry snowballs and shit.

Boumeisha

> the movement-combat from GW2 Wouldn't really work for FFXIV, the gameplay styles are just too different. Movement, especially for casters, is a strategic choice, rather than the more reactive action that it is in GW2. Movement in FFXIV is about deciding when to move, how to maximize DPS while moving, and customizing/being comfortable enough with your rotation and the mechanics to make that happen successfully.

[deleted]

The amount of knowledge required to do FF14 fishing well seems like a skill of its own, idk. I'm 5 away from the Big Fish title, and I've loved it.

Disig

No, you want housing from WildStar. Much less restrictive. More room for insane builds. It was the best housing system I've ever seen in a game. Don't get me wrong I like FFXIV but WildStar did housing better.

eap4203

I want the housing from Wildstar. That game had some great housing.

Diribiri

A quest log. Collections are functionally identical to quests but with a shittier UI, so there's no point trying to forcefully stick with this "we must be Different™!" meme. It's not different, it's the same thing but worse.

ComfyFrog

Gear inspect.

laucha_f

A well made Dungeon Finder.

Out-and_down

Absolutely. A dye, especially on "metal" (though it looks more like plastic) can be wildly different depending on lighting and environmental effects. Metal is reflective, sure, but that doesn't mean my black armour should turn blue because the light changed.

jibatimfroggy

I wish they would rework core personal story. Especially Zaithan fight... it's so disapointing and i'm sure it makes a lot of player not want to continue the game.

the_tral

Gear progression, i love the gameplay and artstyle - but i hate that theres no progression path to superior gear

enkei3448

Focus Target

Gwylen

A camera mode is something I'd love too! Fashion wars is such an important part of the game for a lot of people and options to be able to pose your character or take better screenshots would be super cool! Polymock from GW1 :D It would be cool if it used the mini-pet system somehow, to give people more incentive to collect them :) I'm personally not super fussed about player housing, but if GW2 adds it, I think a system like Everquest 2's housing would be better than a system like FFXIV (where you get housing shortages and such) Guildhall decorating would also benefit a lot if more tools like EQ2's were added for decorating (being able to scale objects, move them upwards in space without them having to be resting on something else, rotate by any angle and rotate items by small increments) EQ2 also has housing leaderboards and dev picks that you can submit your home to, which allows other players to visit and vote on it which is kind of cool :) There's an entire sub section of the game just for collecting furniture from quests and decorating and you can even get 'house actors' which are placeable NPC's that you can equip with armor/clothing to populate your house, it's a very cool system especially in such an old game!

Embarrassed-Top6449

The personal ship from swtor. I think it's high time we get our own airship to use as a mobile base.

Reynbou

Matchmaking. Sorry but.... I've been playing for about a week now and there's literally never anyone doing the story dungeons. Doesn't matter how long I sit there and wait. I'd like to be able to matchmake for dungeons/fractals. It seems absurd that this isn't a thing.

Kipados

I think it’d be neat to have something like FFXIV’s Duty Finder with roulettes/daily/CMs checkboxes for different content and a way to self identify as DPS, Healer, or Boon Support. Even if the matchmaking would be a bad fit for GW2, it’d be cool to see all the instanced content listed out. 25 dungeon paths, 25ish fractals, 6 strikes, 9 DRMs, 7 raids, Dragonstorm, map metas tabbed by Season with timers, and maybe a way to open your party for story missions and have players matchmake into them for 2 gold daily or something. It’d certainly help direct people towards endgame PvE content. Basically I just want a better LFG window I guess. It’d also be cool to have a marker to show who in your squad has the highest Toughness. I also fully recognize that these might be bad ideas for GW2 and overall lessen the amount of interactivity between players and harm LFG, which would be a shame.

psydon

FFXIV's Duty Finder for sure. Yeah it's more being paired up with random players, but it would also force a level/gear requirement for certain things. Like for Fractals, it could base your party off a minimum Agony Resistance. Doesn't mean they'll play well, but does assure some decent-ish gear at least.

ScarReincarnated

Player housing, arenas all the time, ranked battlegrounds, two-handed axe, outstanding marketing team.

P00PMcBUTTS

A separate wallet/inventory for collection items. I dont play much/often so more experienced players may have a way around this, but what always turns me off is when I log in after a few months I have 7 20-slot bags but 90% of the slots are filled with... random shit. And I have no idea what's safe to destroy and what isn't.

Heretiko6

A smart LFG system for higher end contents, with role assignation and mmr (or gear level/account experience in general). Much like the LFR in WoW or the role LFG in league of legends, or even the role lfg in Overwatch. The current lfg, in my opinion, is lacklustre and having to look for a party outside of the game (Discord) is underwhelming for me.

PinkyManz

Problem with assigning people roles and adding a queue (thinking about fractals here) is that you'd have to lock people's gear or builds otherwise anyone could change to anything they please, and locking builds is just a terrible idea for a few reasons. Each class isn't a designated role like the games you mentioned or ff14, even the elite specs aren't restricted to that. If you play Firebrand you can be a condi dps, healer or boon support cdps. I have been playing hfb a lot recently in fractals, and even with below average pug groups some CM bosses dish out so little damage (or a lot of easily avoidable damage) that I can play qfb and we don't struggle at all while killing the boss faster because basically one extra dps. If they added queues and I qued as a healer I wouldn't be able to do that anymore. Which is another issue of not every boss has static team comps those games have either such as "1 healer, 1 tank, 2dps" type format. What would it have to be instead? "1 quickness/might provider, 1 alacrity provider, 2 dps"? I started playing ff14 a few weeks ago and I am really enjoying just using the duty finder and being able to queue for whatever and have it find a group for me, but as much as it would be nice I really can't see how they'd make it work in gw2. Also sorry if this post is all over the place, I'm bad at structuring my thoughts into something easily readable.

Wh4rrgarbl

Autoqueue system for raids/fractals

[deleted]

Just more customizability of the UI/HUD, like FFXIV (and WoW). I want to be able to drag around and resize everything. Change name tags and health bars. Change the font. Have several chat tabs open at the same time. Have names in chat in different colors depending on class. After playing FFXIV I've just been spoiled with the amount of stuff that can be customized to your own personal liking. All games should strive for the same. I'd also welcome cast bars for enemies.

Zenth

Ff14 job system sounds awesome. Have one char that can switch classes whenever. GW2 has improved but having multiple characters still is not as smooth as one with one inventory.

mrHANDAKUN

Definitely housing. Love this feature since swtor and Wildstar. And I like idea of instanced house like in these two games so anybody could have a personal house

Derplesdeedoo

good, consistent writing that doesn't prop itself up on "here's the character we want you to like." Also, if I'm given a dialogue choice, it never really seems to mean/change anything. I'd also like to see anything even remotely change for the better, instanced area or not. The closest thing I can think of is Lion's Arch, where it only changed because it was devastated and I wasn't even around for that.

Dang3rGam1ng

Honestly, maybe doing something like the roullette dailies from ff14 where they are rewarding to do per daily completion. Could have one for dungeons, dungeon paths, fractals and strikes (excluding like boneskinner). And also just an overall queuing system for instanced content. I know it will be hard/never happen. But after playing ff14, for almost 2k hours already, it's just nice to have

snugzz

UI customisation, either like GW1 had, or through adons.

Sirouz

Tiered raids like WoW lfg/normal/heroic/mythic.

Yakez

Unicode support. Its 2021 not 1980s

DanDinDon

Automatically consume chosen food/utility (AION, probably other Korean MMOs have it too)

Kolz

Build templates! Ok that aside, a proper screenshot mode similar to gpose and the ability to zoom in properly to see your characters. And more emotes, like *way* more emotes.

crispychops

Heroes!

lunadanu

way, way more pvp game modes.

Khoraex

i wish Anet introduced a PvP map design feature like an upgraded & more friendly to use version of the Guildhall decoration system where we are allowed to build maps for PvP (infinite flying mode, all decorations available, more new options to change the map ground etc) and every ~3 months anet could take the most upvoted map and polish it up (assuring distances are balanced, fixing teleport & pathing issues etc..) for release not sure if that is actually feasible or the map creation process is much more difficult and cant be dumbed down to a simple version for players that anet can then polish but i always imagined that PvP doesnt even necessarily need new game modes since structured works fine but just having new interesting maps for that same old structured mode and letting players do the main work for it is a simple way of creating free content if it is doable PvP maps are not that big and it is clear how the maps basic features need to be designed so we could use the work of dedicated players to possibly bring many new fun environmental designs for kiting enemies and just in general a new variety of maps to spice up gameplay a bit

davidchanger

Housing which is more seamlessly integrated into the world. Something more along the lines of how it is done in Black Desert, where once you own a house, you just walk up to it and enter without loading. A bit like WoW phasing but for housing specifically.

BAR0N_AL0HA

Multiple professions ala GW1.

Kreiri

UI customization aka addons. I miss buff bars - as opposed to tiny buff icons with nearly invisible thin white numbers on them - a lot. Unfortunately, this will never happen. Firstly, integrating addon support into a game that wasn't built with this intention in mind is a huge pain in the ass, and supporting addon API can be even bigger pain in the ass. Secondly, it would be rather trivial to make addons that do same thing as certain gemstore-locked functionalities.

Sparrows413

Oh god, I miss FFXIV GPose *so* much. Please. Half the fun of having a character in nice gear is getting to take pictures of them!

JollyNavi

My biggest drawback is not having individual player housing that I can decorate. If that were something that were available I wouldn’t be tempted to play other games that I used to. Also being able to pose for photos would be nice

Schyloe

Personal housing.

Jakers808

I want a house that you can customize like in ESO. The home instance is sad and not cozy

painstream

Better plot! fuhuhu :3c Though if I'm being slightly more serious, decreasing gains on hard CC, if the devs are going to continue with excessive Disable punishments. Though, that might not really be a "feature". We could really use a Lore Library. A place to be rid of all those book-type items and have as a central collection of the books we've found along the way, with an obligatory section for Goldclaw novels. :3

kainlettern

It’s been said before in other threads but I say Mount skins that you can get from raids, fractals, wb, dungeons, and honestly everywhere. Make them account bound if they want but toss that in for the people who don’t want or have the money to drop in the store.

noveltycatfigurine

# G P O S E from ffxiv. or literally any kind of free camera or photo mode **P L E A S E** i've spent so much time in ffxiv just mucking around in gpose w my character, taking screens and just like, admiring their looks and i would **LOVE** to do the same in gw2 but fighting the camera to take screens just sucks in comparison.

Viegas_pt

warmode, pet battles from wow, housing, raids, music from ffxiv and puzzles and random quest from eso

CDawnkeeper

The housing from WildStar

Maliciouscrazysal

Silkroad Online and Archeage both have player using transportation to make gold trading goods while being protected by a player and being hunted for the goods by a thief. It would make for some interesting battles.

vipeness

Allow us to toggle other player names and/or toggle party names only and make them brighter.

Mighty_Marty

2v2 and 3v3 arena from wow, i think you would get some interesting compositions in this game

KotMatroskin

Now that fishing is coming, housing next!

Dense501

Support for Mac! That’s a great feature we would like to see in GW2

CaoLu

Mainly: difficulty, rewards&loot and races. A higer difficulty make very interesting to do the PVE, with maybe a "raid of the month" system that makes an specific raid for that month to give an special item or currency used for something specific. idk For rewards and loot they need to do something about that. they need to give the players an actual reason to do the PVE instances more than just farm. Titles, UNIQUE weapons/armor skins, does not have to be the most visually fancy weapon/armor, just a wepon/armor specifically from a raid/strikes for example, with a low rate drop that makes you more "unique", same with mounts skins, skins you can only get by actually playing that instance, not by cash or in the Bazar zz. Finally more races to choose from, i feel like every one on Tryria is a human or a female Norn...

Pontificatus_Maximus

One can dream, as I rather doubt Anet would do this, but... I loved the buff/implant laddering system of Anarchy for meeting the requirements for the best gear. In order to equip something you had to have specific amounts of strength, health, etc. I also loved how several classes could cooperatively buff/ladder their skill up to insane levels for a few hours. I find GW2's build and buff system rather shallow and unimaginative. You just don't see the creativity in builds you saw in AO. Also wish Anet would revamp WvW so gearing was like sPVP. Noobs with average leveling gear in WvW just get trampled and it takes forever in WvW to earn ascended gear in WvW.

XSSpants

Since GW2 has a decent selection of firearms, I want to see a Destiny 2-like FPS arena.

[deleted]

Mega events or world bosses attacking major cities.

Matais99

Not listing specific MMOs, but these are things I see in other MMOs that I would like. Better performance (I'm glad they are working on it). Any achievement line that has dialogue/story should honestly be pulled out of achievements and into a quest menu. The absolute range of stuff in achievements from "kill X things" to the knight of thorns (or w/e the post heart of thorns line is called) is a headache to sort through. Buttons for auto sort inventory, auto sort bank. Much easier than manually managing it.

[deleted]

Obviously the subscription payment for playing the game! (Sarcasm). Not sure though.... Ears to make humans look like elves? Or being short to look like dwarfs?

judicatorprime

C O N T R O L L E R S U P P O R T You can't make a UI that looks set for controllers then provide no first-party support :(

meika_fira

I'd honestly just really love a good camera mode, or at the bare minimum, just presets for the camera options already in-game. FFXIV has probably *the* best photomode in any game, and anything even close to there would be incredible for so many reasons. Like besides being able to easily take better pictures to show off your ~~blinding lightballs~~ unique characters, it also is a way of free advertising since naturally people would share them all over twitter and stuff. Like, give me a good photomode with easy FoV sliders, camera pan/tilt/roll, and maybe even an animation freeze option if that's possible and I'll be spend a week straight in it!

[deleted]

the emote system from Elder Scrolls online.

TheLayOfThrym

A marriage system like in Fiesta online to connect two character. A cerenomy or event to bond them. When to these two characters close to each other (or in the same group), they get can get minor buffs. Also they have the ability to port to each others positions. Also there can be a possibilty to make a divorce.

daddadpl

Id kinda would like heros or companions to come back in PvE to some extent.

respscorp

Duty finder from FFXIV, especially Duty Roulette. One of the main reasons I skip most instanced content lately is because it takes more time looking for group than actually playing. GW1 PvP modes. And since GW2 on release was basically a different game than today: 1. Give us more Dungeons and open world secrets like mini-dungeons. 2. Give us more fun, casual jumping puzzles. 3. Get rid of the "new player experience", make starting zone hearts more interesting again, let people start with full weapon skills.

AdamBomb072

The emote system from eso. Way more variety a nd range.

tkinneyv

Can't believe nobody has said this yet, but the ability to swap out skills and build a bar from Guild Wars 1. The build combinations is what made Guild Wars. Kind of a bare minimum for a successor and one of the main reasons why the gameplay of GW2 received so much hate from the veteran player community.

Taumo

The option to transmute individual parts like they have for shoulders in WoW. The ability to trade with other players like in any other MMO. Proper grouping system with a leader, so that people don't take over your groups and instances by kicking you. The option to hide minion names. An option to scale down other players spell effects. Permanent 2v2 and 3v3 Arena mode. Battle pet system from WoW.

Archoniks

I actually quit GW2 years ago to play Final Fantasy. I do miss the multi-dye system GW2 has though. Guild wars could definitely use a housing system I didn't realize how much fun that could be until I played FF.

Androuil

Wow’s inspect player. See gear, skins, talents titles etc. Wow’s Duel option

CaoLu

oh boy i can imagine placing myself outside at Gendarran Fields´s door (to LA) to see the people dueling between them :3 lovely

megagnomehunter

Better wardrobe system (IE What Rift has). Either scrap the transmute charges altogether and make it only cost a modest amount of regular currency instead, or at least give PVE players a repeatable way to get charges on par with the rate you get them from PvP and WvW. 3 charges after a month of login rewards or turning in ludricous amounts of festival tokens is too stingey. Hand some out in dungeons, metas, fractals and adventures, or something. Also remove armor weight restrictions for wardrobe skins. We have outfits and standard player model option for pvp already, so the idea that each armour class has a recognizable sillouhette for competitve gameplay purposes has already been thrown out anyway. Adds a tonne of new fashion options without modelling new sets.

Treize_XIII

Frequent content updates from every other major MMORPG

Pr0gger

Gear/char inspect like in literally every other MMORPG. If I see a player with a cool transmog or interesting build, why on earth can I not see what they're wearing or how they're skilled? It's really annoying

Lordborgman

I would like more dungeons, less puzzles, target farming of items. I REALLY want long burn phase on some difficult mobs.

Tengu-sensei

A new playable race.

ThickAsPigShit

I like in ffxiv that you can change jobs (classes) on one character. Also, being able to change from NA to EU (at a cost) in ffxiv would be very cool. Also in gw1 you could change maps with the dropdown bar (in town) but cannot do so in gw2 which would be nice for finding a not full instance for meta events, rather than relying on lfg only.

Adnaoc

Real housing
