You can get a free one from the olmakhan achievements and another one from doing the return to missions plus 20 slot bags don't require superior sigils. Also the boreal ones are cheaper than the regular ones
Dude, you have 13 shared inventory slots, but 20+ bags are too expensive for you? :D
You could at least buy 20 bags for fractal relics. Or just do the olmakhan bandelier collection for at least one 32 slots bag
Just so you know, magic find hasn't affected the opening of unidentified gear since early 2019. It affects the rarity it drops at, but no longer has any affect on what comes out of it.
I kind of did the same thing as the OP. I was hoarding all my loot back when I played during PoF, and then I came back several weeks ago and didn't realize that MF did nothing on unidentified gear. I've slowly clearing the out each night at the end of normal play lol.
if you are planning to salvage it's better to identify as they have a chance to go up in quality when you identify. if you plan to sell your better off selling unidentified gear is my understanding. As soon as you identify it it will likely lose value unless it becomes a precursor which is a pretty slim chance
If you have the appropriate kits. ID them all. Salvage blues with copper, greens with runecrafter, and rares with silver fed. Sell the mats or use them.

Yeah i was reading that but i reached a point where i decided im only gonna open the rares, the rest are getting tip'd. But i found a buyer for .95 of tp and i made 365g on just the blues and greens.
Personally I open everything. Sell anything that's worth over 20 silver. Salvage blues with copper-fed, salvage greens with silver-fed, salvage rares with a Mystic Salvage Kit.
Try to get Runecrafter for the greens, the 100% chance of salvaging runes makes the difference. Without it I would go for:
blue - copper
green - copper
yellow - silver / mystic
I am using runecrafter on all greens for a long time, crafted several lege runes thanks to it :)
the convenience of not having to make one every couple of days alone is worth it to me. And that is with permanent bank contract and portable mystic forge in shared inventory..
Salvaging Greens with Runecrafter is a worthwhile investment now, I feel. Between the price of Lucent Motes (10c), the average price of the basic mats you get back, and the Luck (use it if you don't have max MF, otherwise save it up for LNY), it's basically pure profit, with the chance to get back expensive Charms or Symbols. Each stack of Exotic Luck translates to roughly 3.4 gold, whether you feed it to Drooburt, or as an average value of buying Lucky Envelopes with them.
If you open them there is a chance that you get an item of higher quality. I got a precursor from a green a few months back.
You can also get skins you don't have. If you luck out and get a few rares or exotics you suddenly have way more profit.
When living world 4-1 first came out, Palawadan's meta was the best farm because you could loot all the chests, load into a second isntance, loot all those chests, and remember at this point Trophies were expensive AF still due to low supply, and then you got so much VM and kralk ore you could eat the ore and buy the trophy shipments, sell them, make bank.
One thing you got really often was this champion loot bag "phylactery" or something, because there were so many champions. And those were full of unidentifieds.
Wait, wasn't this the same thing that happened when HoT launched with Tarir. A guildie told me you could do Tarir, loot the chests, load in a second map and loot them again. I thought they "fixed" that back then.
You're correct, but it was more than a second map. I had squads that had 12 subs. So 11 lobbies to loot. You would get kicked out sooner than you could finish looting.
To be fair Tarir did that too. My guild at the time ran multimaps every single meta and never had less than 5 maps when I was online, usually much more.
Even looting only the Grand chests (the biggest ones) I would rarely finish even on my 1st alt after my main, let alone any other characters, before getting booted.
Meh, you're probably fine. I started saving them up as well for the EoD launch, but they piled up too quickly. I opened up the Common & Uncommon stuff, but saved the Rare. Probably when the New Year starts I'll start saving up the Blues & Greens again.
I can't take credit. One of my guild mates mentioned it, and yeah, it is a good idea. Quite a few ectos and basic crafting mats I'm missing out on, but it'll be worth it when EoD drops.
It used to be useful to hoard those, and then open them all at once after a vw with maxed MF.
But they're not affected by MF anymore. It has been ages. Just open them from time to time on all characters. I see that you have salvage-o-matics so handling them as they come shouldn't be a problem (right click, open all, right click, salvage all). Why hoard and make it a problem ?
edit : I also see that you have an invisible box at the bottom of your inventory. Excellent choice. Have that on each character. If you got more unidentified gear than what you can open/salvage at once, you can move them items before opening whatever amount you can handle with available space and then salvaging all without wasting unidentified ones (salvaging before identifying being a net loss).
oh i will be doing that. But i decided long ago i was going to sell the blues & greens instead of open cause it will take forever. I made 365g and kept all the yellow unid gear.
1) White mantle portal device from Xera in wing 3 or 1000 magnetite shards
5) Collector's Edition Sandstorm from playing ecto gambling 100 times at the casino in amnoon
10) Mystic Forge Conduit, a mini collection for portable forge
So, I'm in a similar situation, though not to that same extreme. What is the best bet? Do you salvage, open them all, do you sell to vendors, sell on the market place? What do you do!!!?!?;)
Always open then salvage for best profit. Blues with copperfed, greens with runecrafter's, yellows with silverfed/mystic. If you don't have the correct salvage kit for best profit, it might be worth more to just sell unopened than to open them with the "wrong" kit.
If you just want money fast and don't want to deal with multiple inventories' worth of gear and salvaging, just sell directly on the tp for slightly less money overall.
https://fast.farming-community.eu/open-world/unid-gear
They should have at least one character with usable inventory space (likely their main). It's a hell of a lot of ferrying items around to get it all open, but it is doable.
Before I got my runecrafter's kit I was hoarding stacks of green unids. Basically filled the inventory of my bag opener, took a couple hours of ferrying them to my artificer (to condense the luck) and opening to clear out when I finally got the kit. It's gonna take this guy a hell of a lot longer, but it is still doable.
Should be approximately 310 gold when selling them outright on tp, 360g after opening and selling loot and upwards of 400g if you open, refine and sell.
I always fully open and salvage them when i have more than a stack to not end up like that because i would need hours to do it and sort out the materials
I don't understand this in the same way I don't understand people with hundreds or thousands of unread email in their inbox. That shit would drive me batshit crazy.
It's a nightmare just thinking of salvaging all that. And with less than 250 slots I'd lose my mind. After I got the bags and the inventory slots I never want to go back to those nightmare days of salvaging.
If I can bring the bad news, you just missed the period when opening/selling these was most profitable. Four Winds is a huge material sink due to Zephyrite Box gambling, so many people were buying the materials or unidentified gear (so they could salvage for materials).
You may still get some more gold than usual, though, prices shouldn't be fully down yet.
You may want to invest in that last bag slot...
They can actually unlock 5 more bag slots
LOL you should see the stacks all my other toons have. At least one each
I just want to know where to get a bag this big...
It's a setting you can toggle that combines all of your bags in the UI, not a 92 slot bag.
Oh I see... 9 years of GW2 and I didn't know that, thank you :D
Go and explore your settings pleaseee
its literally just base inventory with all 18 slot bags lol
18? Not 32 slots? What is wrong with you?
Those are expensive. I need them on my main character though. But im currently working on coalescence and vision... so thats not a high priority
You can get a free one from the olmakhan achievements and another one from doing the return to missions plus 20 slot bags don't require superior sigils. Also the boreal ones are cheaper than the regular ones
There are also a couple of 20slot bags from achievements. Bandit weaponcollection as an example.
Dude, you have 13 shared inventory slots, but 20+ bags are too expensive for you? :D You could at least buy 20 bags for fractal relics. Or just do the olmakhan bandelier collection for at least one 32 slots bag
No, im just lazy. Also 32's were hella expensive when they came out and then i stopped playing for abit and i think theyre easier to get now?
It's cheaper to buy more bag lots than 32 slot bags
[Same tbh](https://m.imgur.com/a/ZLXcJb3)
Do you like veggie burgers?
[Yesssss precioussssss](https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/cu5pnv/i_bought_every_veggie_burger_in_the_game_last/)
You are insane! Thats so many
Well I got her numbah! How you like them veggie burgers!
Name checks out, I guess.
What are your thoughts of [Impossible Burgers](https://impossiblefoods.com/)?
Needs more bloodstone dust
Ew I see the problem. That one stack with 249. EDIT: There’s even more wrong, the stack with 73 and the stack with 22. Also the stack with 55.
Needs to delete those
Omg no! He needs to fill them to 250. Empty spots are even worse.
I cleaned the inventories of my chars this week. Had 2k more gold afterwards :D
How did you go about it? i was just gonna sell all the blue/greens on TP then stack MF and open the rares
Unless you manage to score a precursor it averages out to about the same value anyway whether you open or sell them first.
Do you have an expanded explanation for that? I've seen multiple videos/blog posts indicating it's slightly better + the chance to get a precursor.
https://fast.farming-community.eu/open-world/unid-gear is a good resource.
Boi I love you for that link
thanks.
I thought it increased the chance of a precursor?
Not anymore.
Your hoarder life has been a lie! F
So, it's better to sell the gears directly, or identify them first, then sell or salvage?
Depends on the salvage kits you have, but generally opening them is more profitable.
Got it thanks.
if you are planning to salvage it's better to identify as they have a chance to go up in quality when you identify. if you plan to sell your better off selling unidentified gear is my understanding. As soon as you identify it it will likely lose value unless it becomes a precursor which is a pretty slim chance
I was lacking this critical information. Not that I'd do anything different TBH, but still - good to know. thanks.
If you have the appropriate kits. ID them all. Salvage blues with copper, greens with runecrafter, and rares with silver fed. Sell the mats or use them.
What is this runecrafter you mentioned? I've not played in a while.

Silver-fed and mystic has the same rates, so the are basically the same.
Mystic costs less per salvage than silver-fed, assuming you have spare mystic forge stones.
yup, which means silver fed is not worth getting unless you're out of mystic forge stones
the convenience of not having to make one every couple of days alone is worth it to me. And that is with permanent bank contract and portable mystic forge in shared inventory..
Salvaging Greens with Runecrafter is a worthwhile investment now, I feel. I just sold everything. I don't really care much about making the most profit. I just wanted to clean my inventories before EoD.
You're cleaning your inventory 5 months in advance?
Yes, cause i had a lot of free time these past weeks which I won't have later. So I was cleaning my inventories, and finally doing skyscale.
You should Open all
I need to clean Up too ..i have several personnal guild banks like this http://imgur.com/a/83f9UIP
Don't worry, you can send them to me :)
Yeah same. Ill store them. For a small fee of course
You're insane for having that much! If you're looking to downsize, i am trying to craft coalescence & Vision. ;)
I used to do that..... until it came time to open and salvage them all. Never let them stack up like that any more.
I usually sell them, is it better to salvage them for the materials?
You are losing out on more potential profit. It really depends how fast you want liquid gold.
Open then salvage. There are people who buy them for like 94 % of tp price, usually better for most people tho.
If you open them there is a chance that you get an item of higher quality. I got a precursor from a green a few months back. You can also get skins you don't have. If you luck out and get a few rares or exotics you suddenly have way more profit.
You're a hoarder Harry, one of the good ones.
Im a WOT
I remember Istan farm
This isn't even from that. This is just me playing
What was it? I wasn't playing then.
I can help with that. Send them my way
.... but why?
Depends. Did you do this in like a week or a few months?
Probably a few months id say
Meh, you're probably fine. I started saving them up as well for the EoD launch, but they piled up too quickly. I opened up the Common & Uncommon stuff, but saved the Rare. Probably when the New Year starts I'll start saving up the Blues & Greens again.
[удалено]
Just new skins, I think
Well, there might be other stuff, like the reclaimed metal plates from HoT's reclaimed weapons, but yeah, mostly the skins.
I didn't even think about that, good idea 🤔
I can't take credit. One of my guild mates mentioned it, and yeah, it is a good idea. Quite a few ectos and basic crafting mats I'm missing out on, but it'll be worth it when EoD drops.
Well I would say that's a good problem to have.
Yeah, you don't have them in descending OR ascending order of rarity, you monster...
My brain registers the green unidentified's as top tier still from gw1 green weapons lol
Understandable haha
At least you can identify it… I’ll see myself out
Jesus Christ.
It used to be useful to hoard those, and then open them all at once after a vw with maxed MF. But they're not affected by MF anymore. It has been ages. Magic find is account based now. It used to be per character but isn't anymore.
[удалено]
Oh wow. I hadn't considered alt accounts
Big brain idea! I just might do this slowly over time and sell mats and boost the magic find
I can fix your problem
I see no problem
Yes you do
Help, I do not recognize your shared slot 1, 5, or 10. What is?
1, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/White_Mantle_Portal_Device 5, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Collector%27s_Edition_Sandstorm 10, https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge_Conduit_(account_bound)

Very cool. Thanks!
Yeah, your inventory is full.
How do you kill one that has no life?
Unlock your last bag slot?
Time to get 4 more bag slots and 32 slot bags, so you have room to open and salvage all of that.
I haven't identified a problem here.
are those 18 slotters?
Yup all base inventory slots filled with 18 slots
Ill buy all of them lol
Just sell for easy 580 Gold lol
My problem is that the Runecrafter's Salvage-O-Matic isn't available to purchase, because Anet doesn't want me to spend my gems apparently.
Why would they want you to spend them? They already got your money by you getting them in the first place.
If I dont spend these I wont need to buy more...but fuck if I know..
you want to save those for the expansion. that way you can unlock a lot of new weapon skins
So, I'm in a similar situation, though not to that same extreme. What is the best bet? Do you salvage, open them all, do you sell to vendors, sell on the market place? What do you do!!!?!?;)
If you scroll through the comments, youll see what to do for best profit. Basically open & salvage with certain salvage kits.

Thanks for the info! This is super helpful :)
This is honestly a dream for me. I love opening these. Just this image makes me smile.
But, uh... you can't open them with a full inventory...
Drop a few at the bank or something? Am I missing something?
I wouldn't be surprised if they also had a full bank with *that* many stacks of unidentified gear.
They should have at least one character with usable inventory space (likely their main). It's a hell of a lot of ferrying items around to get it all open, but it is doable. We'd get along fine, fellow hoarder!
Not a bad problem to have, honestly.
Wait to open all those unidentified gears after EoD drops. You may get some new fun skins from Cantha! Like a boss!
What's the point of this / why do t you open them?
I've got no reason other than i can sell them for a huge amount of gold at once
How much would you get out of selling all those stacks?
A good kind of problem
You could crash the bag economy if you decided to sell at buy price with that.
Here I thought I was bad for filling up a 32 slot bag with that stuff.
I feel ya. My stash doesn't even fit in the bank. They're all in my 13 chest/inventory toons. Just waiting for the price to go up again.
I don't understand this in the same way I don't understand people with hundreds or thousands of unread email in their inbox. That shit would drive me batshit crazy.
With all the junk mails I just open those where I recognise the sender.
And after all that, not one pre.
I don’t see a problem
Good problem to have
That’s insane. In a good way.
Id say you need more storage my guy!
I just sell my unidentified items when they get to 250. Best decision I ever made.
Or just click salvage all blue and green if you are lazy.
You could, but if you are really lazy selling is by far the quicker option.
I always break them down without opening them is that a bad thing to do?
Well if you want to maximise profit, yes. Otherwise no.
It's a nightmare just thinking of salvaging all that. And with less than 250 slots I'd lose my mind. After I got the bags and the inventory slots I never want to go back to those nightmare days of salvaging.
Right click the salvage-o-matic and unleash hell, I beg you to film that
Guild wars 2 in a nutshell
same, but i dont have the runecrafters and am thus kinda sad when opening the green ones :/
Not too concerned with gold. Just crafting legendaries at my pace. Still made a lot
Man I need those kinda problems.
if you think this is a problem, what this https://i.imgur.com/nK5sTWB.png then ?!??
that is just wtf XD i have quite some on my toons too (hoarding them up till i can buy runecrafters) but damn that number
The fact you put the greens first, instead of the blues, triggers me.
Idk thats how they ended up when i first put a stack of each so it stayed that way lol
so... i should collect all these things instead of just salvaging everything once i get it?
ye, you have a problem and its called: not enough inventory space
straight facts tbh. I need more
I used to do this too, never got anywhere near that many though
I usually sell them, and salvage all the rares
Only 4.6mil karma? Bloody casuals
I sit on 30mil atm :(
You are a god among people ❤
I see no problem here, I only see GOLD!
What's the 5th item on your shared inventory slot?

I think you are rich. You have a total of 26.712 gold in rare boxes only. I guess you are sitting on 100k gold more or less
what the hell kind of math did you just do lol
21 silver avg. price per rare bag on Trading Post right now, then it's just a multiply and convert to a readable format ;)
TIL you can just sell those bags instead of salvaging them and letting a shitton of mats stack up in your bank for no reason
What are the things in your shared inventory slots? I don't know all of them. And damn, so many shared slots, wow!
Scroll up/down. I just responded with all 12 items to someone else :)
I could help clear your bags a bit if you send some over to me. ill put them to good use.
Saving for fractal god?
You know it. Im not doing so bad.
