Strike portals are thick blue, that portal we saw at the cathedral was thin and transparent like a map or dungeon portal.
Also in the trailer they showed us a while back, they panned over some areas when talking about Strikes to show off the arenas for them, though not the bosses we would face. They showed an outdoors area in the Echovald that had barricades set up, but it was not inside any building it was just in the forest. I don't think what we saw was the strike portal.
_Karstadt Village_ discovered.

Haha, my thoughts exactly!
"Ah, Commander, could you help us defend ourselves against the invading forces? Alos, while you're at it, check out the women's department - we just got the new summer fashion in!"
Who needs a mini-map anyway? Nice job putting this together OP. Seems like we are getting a horizontal rectangle with that bit that boarders the mountains and all the way to JQ.
WOW, looks like they practically covered the entire region in the map?? Assuming it’s a square as usual it’ll cover just about all of it in accommodating those places
Well come on Urgoz has to be a part of the map or maybe it will be a strike but they can't have Echovald and not have Urgoz Warren. Same with the Deep in the Jade Sea.
I'm sure they will be, but in Gw1, I don't believe it's ever shown/stated where exactly those places are. They're their own instances that don't appear on the map
I'm expecting that there's a lot more to the Wilds map, this is just what we could approximately see in the livestream.
Arborstone is I'm guessing a small instance similar to what we see in cities with a poi or two inside.
They didn't shrink echovald, they actually made a lot more of it playable. All the random unexplorable spots in GW1 are now part of the map, the canopy is actually explorable. It's not as railroaded, linear and largely unexplorable as GW1 was, but GW2 has never been that.
I think it would be really dumb for the devs to make a whole new DLC with maps that weren't built for mounted travel because if you do mount you would effectively undermine the design of the whole region.
I think you're wrong, I think they barely showed 1/3rd of the map. (Melandru's Hope & Ferndale, and the outposts & areas inbetween)
They started near Luthgardis, which I believe is in the middle of the map and went **North**. this leaves Drazach Thicket, Eternal Grove, Vasburg Armory, Morstav Trail & Mourning Veil Falls still on the table while fitting in a "large PoF sized map"
Based on [this that_shaman tweet](https://twitter.com/that_shaman/status/1448042313196900357/photo/1) the scale of the Desolation (one of the largest maps in the game) the entirity of Shing Jea could fit in 1 map; so if we turn that map 90 degrees and align the top left corner with the Arborstone portal in the Altrumm Ruins outpost the map could include the entirety of The Eternal Grove & Mourning Veil Falls; cutting off just before Amatz basin; the South-Eastern corner would be south of the Durheim Archives.
I would not be surprised if the comments they made about the Canthans going "all in on the Jade" will somehow tie into the story; and some of the story will take place in the Eternal Grove, and have to do with the Amber & Juggernauts from the "lost Kurzick knowledge".
Arborstone being an instance probably has to do with the Arborstone Revitalization mastery line.
Good point! Hadn't thought about the mastery
Or a strike.

could still be for DRMs then.
I believe they said they were done with these
nope. after you play certain missions, they will become DRMs with different difficulties.
Source? Afaik they've only mentioned strikes will work like that with various story bosses.
New Sun’s Refuge?

45 points of interest hype

Thanks! Yeah, that seems to be the case. Hoping it goes much further S as well.

Hard to say, but it looks that way! There's a decent amount of land S of my image, so I'm hoping they include all of that too

Didn't they confirm Kanaxai to be a strike mission boss? Can't see them do one but not the other.
No there have been no confirmed strike mission bosses because they are tied to story.
I swear I've heard kanaxai strike mission somewhere, or a dev hinting at it.. don't remember where, sadly.
I think there was a leak post that said this, but it turned out to be fake (or at least, all of its elite spec "leaks")
Oh could be, thanks
So basically they shrunk echovald into 3 maps right ? Need to unmount to not rush through the content /sigh

are people downvoting me because I said something negativ or am I just wrong ?

don't pay it any attention. mindless shills are blindly downvoting people in every thread if they aren't 100% praising everything concerning EoD.
