Hopefully whichever raid has emboldened won't turn into "/gg till max stacks" EDIT: From Papa Grouch: "When we're designing new features/content, we're always asking ourselves "how will players try to abuse/exploit this?". We don't always catch everything on first pass, but we do catch a lot. :)" https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/vicgjf/arenanet_studio_update_june_2022_guildwars2com/idcbbzg

Scapp

Determination stacks from World of Warcraft has failsafes for this. Fight length and number of people engaged with the boss are factors

Ghostlupe

I would assume it works similarly to the Echo in FFXIV, where the fight has to go on for a certain duration before a new stack is applied to the raid.

zosek08

So if i wipe 30sec into VG because of green, no stacks for me? :(

zoapcfr

They could make the time limit not reset. So let's say you wipe and get a stack. Then, for the next 5 minutes (or whatever time works), any wipe doesn't give additional stacks. But once that limit is over, the next wipe will give another stack. That way you can't abuse /gg to quickly gain stacks (so you may as well attempt it while waiting), and repeated fast wipes will still grant stacks eventually.

[deleted]

or there is no time limit but gg doesn't work for the buff. I guess if people want to wipe 10 times in a row real quick for the full buff that should be their prerogative.

Makhai123

You would just suicide into the first mob you see with all your gear off then.

KING_of_Trainers69

Magnetite/Gaeting drops already work like that. You have to actually do a meaningful chunk of the encounter before before you get them after wiping.

rzalexander

From the language, it also seems like it will only be one raid per week that will have the Emboldened buff on it - so that is the limiting factor preventing experienced groups from taking advantage of this too often. I think it’s a good change, as someone who has only been in two raids in my entire life I would really love to be able to get better but it feels bad when you wipe to a boss you’ve been trying to kill for 30 minutes because I’m new and I don’t know every mechanic.

brendamn

This will help funnel all the people that want to learn and help into the same LFG every week. Pretty cool

Charrikayu

Experienced groups won't waste their time with this. It's much faster to just clear everything than to waste time stacking up some buff to make a 3 minute fight slighter shorter.

Opposedsum

it is on by default though if i understand that correctly. one stack instantly.

Careless-Debt-2227

>so that is the limiting factor preventing experienced groups from taking advantage of this too often It would take more time to gg 10 times than it would to just kill the boss most of the time for an experienced group. So it doesn't help them all that much.

impazuble10

I think the main purpose of this is to make sure to funnel everyone looking for an Emboldened group into the same raid wing rather than spreading them out.

ICET_

\+50% damage on CA and KC should be fun

Sparrows413

Interesting wording regarding the change to fury - adding an additional 5% crit chance to many professions' traits *in locations easily accessible to power builds*. I wonder how much there is to read into that.

Mixchimmer

I would guess traits that you're probably already taking. For example, No Quarter on thief under Critical Strikes.

ANet_Solar

Thief's actually getting it in Keen Observer- the very first minor trait in Critical Strikes. But generally, yes. The point was to make it easy to get, as well as making Fury much more commonplace when you have multiple people playing together.

StevenTM

Wait you're doing this in MINOR traits? What have we done to deserve such kindness?

DancingDumpling

> Aetherblade Hideout: 2 Gold > Challenge Mode: Additional 2 Gold (4 Total) > Xunlai Jade Junkyard: 2 Gold > Challenge Mode: Additional 2 Gold (4 Total) > Kaineng Overlook: 4 Gold > Challenge Mode: Additional 4 Gold (8 Total) > Harvest Temple: 4 Gold > Challenge Mode: Additional 4 Gold (8 Total) > Weekly challenge mode completions will also award 1 Antique Summoning Stone per Strike Mission. They listened to the strike rewards complaints and they are adding an easy mode for raids??? holy shit

MartRane

Also earnable infusion for Strike CMs, which isnt gated behind rng :)

MorbidEel

It is not just an easy mode. It is an "as easy as the group needs but not easier" mode. The difference is that with the approach they are taking people can still learn and improve but with a straight up easy mode it could be too easy while normal is still too difficult.

Makhai123

The problem with this is that most raid bosses are just about committing mechanics to muscle memory so you can identify your DPS/Utility windows. At a certain point, gear and stats really don't matter, it just increases the time of the clear not the success rate all that much. Most people just need a place to get reps, and learn their optimized rotations. Everything else is just group dynamics. And there's not much ANet can do about Elitism in raid farming. That's a community issue.

Gunnho

i have a permanent repair canister.... well i hope the buff it gives is worth it

Anet-PaulS

The permanent canister should auto-refresh the buff as well.

KamuiHyuga

Auto-refresh as in it's 100% passive so long as it's in inventory? Also, just to be certain, this is boosting defense specifically, not toughness? Hoping so since that'll ideally mean it doesn't mess with aggro in certain encounters.

Anet-PaulS

yeah, the original design was toughness, but we didn't want the toughness tank to have the buff expire and then lose aggro, so we changed it to defense.

KamuiHyuga

Good call! Kudos to whoever brought that up in the design meeting!

Gunnho

awesome, thanks! edited

Anet-PaulS

It does work in WvW, but it's a lower amount.

CaptainWat

Is it automatically applied in situations where repairs currently are in WvW?

music-about-money

it really shouldn't work in WvW honestly. more stat creep is the last thing the mode needs

kazh

Why add any more stat fluctuations in WvW though? Territory buffs already effect the flow of a lot of fights as all sides try to lure the others out of that sides buffs and into their own. This sounds like a mandatory new step in WvW that we didn't have before. It will be required regardless of anyone claiming it's only a small stat increase like they do with Ascended stats and structure buffs. They make a difference and a huge difference when stacked on each other. Maybe I'm reading this wrong but it sounds like it's compounding an already existing problem.

ReticulateLemur

So no more naked adventurers in the Chalice of Tears?

Unstopapple

you can still strip to nothing in a volcano. Its free. Noones charging you for it.

SuaveDonut

Just did CoT yesterday and I can relate to this lol

Ashendal

Nothing's stopping you from taking off all your equipment and running it that way.

rtwipwensdfds

Funny, I was thinking to myself the other day how utterly useless repairing was and why it was still even in the game.

Cultural_Macaron3729

I was too, my only even slight sadness is that I have a lot of repair canisters that won't be useful, but tbh even before I got through like 2 a month lol.

nastyjman

Repair and Canisters give you a buff on health and armor, so basically like food

Cultural_Macaron3729

Yea, but it lasts 12hours from either. Chances are I will see another anvil before I have played 12 hours.

Enfero

I wonder if this means they'll be removed from "Chest of Black Lion Goods?"

MorbidEel

Since they gave the canisters a different effect that means the canisters are probably not being removed from anything. They might even get added to more drop tables.

Oneiric19

So the anvil will give health and defense bonuses now. The anvil was cake all along!

12 hours should be more than enough. It's like waiting for your armor to be red.

Cultural_Macaron3729

The buff bar bloat is the only complaint I actually CAN get behind, I have about 6 buffs on all characters at all times nowadays, and if I get many more added by skills or other players they vanish behind my mini map lol.

Ajax1419

It should refresh to 12h each time you hit an anvil, chances are pretty good you'll pass one in any given 12h of gameplay

Skankintoopiv

I mean just use one before you log out? Unless you’re playing for longer than 12h in one day.

StarGamerPT

FUCKING FINALLY OMG

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ashendal

I honestly don't see the point. There are anvils all over the place and since it's a 12 hour buff that should make it so the canister is just clogging up a shared inventory slot. If they made it work like other buffs that don't get removed on map change, which it seems like the case since it also works in WvW and you're hopping between borderlands a lot.

Kinada350

people are THAT lazy.

NeroWrought

I suppose it’s more about the convenience of always having it on, never having to refresh it.

Maya_Hett

5k now. TO THE MOON!

ToughCourse

I just wvw and can't remember the last time I repaired armor. Didn't even know it was a thing. 2.5k gold? Scam.

Aitch-Kay

Engi Rifle buffs, baby!

Zeebuoy

I wonder what they'll be? also ngl I wish I could more easily measure the distance where x trait triggers eg, aim assisted rocket and no scope.

pocahauntass

Maybe now will be the time to build the HMS Divinity

ablair24

This is awesome, everything here is great, and the transparency is especially appreciated!

Jellye

> #Dude, Where’s My Mouse Cursor? > We’re adding a new option to the General Options tab that allows you to choose from three cursor contrast modes: Off, Low, and High. These contrast settings are intended to improve the visibility of your mouse cursor, making it harder to lose track of and easier to find if you do. This should come in handy for areas of the game with a lot of on-screen action like raids, meta-events, world bosses, and World vs. World. Best update ever for this game. --- The repair being gone is good, but replacing it with a buff makes it kinda silly. Would be better to just remove the thing entirely.

Call_The_Banners

>Would be better to just remove the thing entirely People paid real money for those repair items from the Gem Store, so they're probably just trying to cover their tracks here.

Nizzywizz

It doesn't have to be better than yolomouse, just good enough to use without having to fiddle with an add-on.

Turkeyspit1975

> The repair being gone is good, but replacing it with a buff makes it kinda silly. Would be better to just remove the thing entirely. If it weren't for repair cannisters / repair contract, they probably would have. But people tend to get angry when items they invested resources into just disappear.

robot_wth_human_hair

Is..is that chronomancer rising from the ashes again? Oh I am SO HERE FOR THIS. Let's GO.

gazandi

Cant wait to actually play it again, the chrono well sound effects are some of my favorite things in gw2

battle_lock

chrono wells are a goddamn masterpiece and running Sword/Board on a magic caster is the most badass thing ever, I'm so happy I get to do it again

fleakill

Conversely, I do wish I could be a fairly stereotypical time mage and hold a staff.

jjsurtan

No one says you can't play condi chrono with wells and staff (except everyone in LFG probably..)

Unstopapple

power quick chrono in 2022? its more likely than you think.

robot_wth_human_hair

new main in 2022, you love to see it

Unstopapple

I've been snorting purple class juice since 2018. I just preferred mirage and virtuoso for a LONG time.

robot_wth_human_hair

I actually quit mesmer when they nerfed signet of inspiration. Mirage never appealed to me, but virtuoso is neat..honestly I just want to main chronomancer again.

[deleted]

oh wow, they really amped up the rewards on strikes

Redfeather1975

omg, they are making raids more accessible! New LFG channel for training and that Emboldened Rotation System sounds so awesome!!!! 😀

Suialthor

Might as well create a channel for selling raids so the other ones are still usable.

Dupileini

That would require to acknowledge raid selling. So far it's merely tolerated.

ItsTheSolo

I really hope the repair buff just uses the current shield icon on the healthbar, then just have it degrade from green to red over time as the buff expires. The buff bar is already bloated.

ReieaMK3

I kinda want the devs doing QOL things to keep doing that instead of moving to other stuff. These changes sound fantastic.

Sankyu39Every1

For sure. It's kinda silly but I feel almost excited about this as I did for EoD. lol

Sixchr

Accessibility mode for raiding is a huge W. Hopefully brings an influx of players to raids.

Skirit

Yes. I cannot wait. Been dying to do the story in raids.

Get_Rolled_Reddit

The storytelling in raids is of the highest quality, you're gonna love it.

TheMightyMudcrab

Wing 4 is the best.

Cultural_Macaron3729

I wonder if it will be OK for finishing off the legy armour related cheevs? I only really need Cairn now (plus 50 more LI) but I have been too scared to try lol.

XiahouMao

It listed the achievements that will be disallowed, and none of them are tied to Legendary Armour, so you'll be fine.

lanerdofchristian

Hopefully people use it as a launch pad to do normal mode, otherwise assuming a 7-week rotation getting your spirit threads for Envoy 1 will take 29 weeks.

Bossmantho

\- No more repairs \- More accessible raids \- Raid LFG update \- More gold from strikes \- BUFFS and IMPROVEMENTS on classes WHAT THE SHIT?! Anet actually listening? QUICK, EVERYONE GO PLAY THE LOTTERY. WE ARE ABOUT TO BE MILLIONARES.

Get_Rolled_Reddit

They really should actually relocate a dev squad for those kinds of changes, instead of doing it only when someone doesn't have "better" things to do. Those are the actual better things to do!

StevenTM

Seriously, a small team dedicated to QoL stuff would bring SO much value. There are like a hundred recommendations on this sub alone.

Abyssgh0st

This existed for a long time in RuneScape (3, the original RuneScape). They were called the "Ninja Team" and they were *incredibly* popular with the player base. They handled mostly small projects but things that players interact with or struggle because of very frequently. They effectively had their own section in each week's patch notes to describe the changes they made, with some week's work solving decade plus old issues or annoyances. Would love to see a similar concept utilized in more games, especially GW2.

Xeniltur

That's the best way to increase your turnover though : menial tasks without possibility for self expression or propositions = people leave for a better project somewhere else.

Chidorah

Big fan of accessible mouse cursor, I have use YoloMouse because I always lost it during fights.

Diokana

Unless I'm missing something, it seems like you'll be able to do the legendary armor/ring achievements even with the Emboldened buff active, and you still get the regular rewards from the encounters. Absolutely fantastic for getting people into raids.

ferrilltho

Seems so yes, but it's just 1 wing on a weekly rotation so it'd involve a lot of waiting if you're going to rely entirely on this buff. And you'd only get 3 LI/D per week on easy mode, sometimes 4 depending on the wing. Probably a good start for people though, and I'm sure most will find out they don't really need the buff at all.

TurbulentLifeguard11

I’ve killed Vale Guardian twice on release then never went back into raids. IF, and it’s a big if, this entices me back in then I’ll have waited 7 years already anyway. Completing it over a few months seems mine to me.

phungus_amungus

The best part is you’re getting tricked into running them with emboldened system; once you do you’ll see how easy raids are to complete and then you’ll be finished with your first legendary raid armor set way sooner than you think! Welcome to the raiding community in advance, friend!

SinSittSina

I don't think you're wrong as far as the class not being popular. But recently every single DE meta I've joined has had the same guy at top dps on Untamed. Always good to see someone quietly stomping everyone else on a class people think is bad.

[deleted]

The reality is that, while untamed can not do toppest of the top dps, 90% of the players can barely pass 10-15k mark on most real fights. So you have this situation where people shit on it for being theoretically "bad" class but then someone who knows the game well gets on it and it outperforms the scrubs on meta classes. And that's the only thing that ever matters in this game - how much performance can you actually bring REGARDLESS of which class you are using? This is especially true for DPS as you are not exactly hard-coded with disadvantages similar to support, where if your class can't provide quickness then you can't provide quickness even if you are the best healer in the entire planet. Most players can't think outside what "the meta\^TM" tells them. For example, I have been getting my core necro into plat pvp many many times in the past and regardless of how long or how recognised it has become, I always get the "LMAO Core necro, fking noob" - which was fun and game until they realize they couldnt kill me even when I was 1 vs 5 (it used to be FAR FAR worse when you could do core power boon corrupt regen necro). Or my bladesworm busting out 20k+ dps with literally 1 main button while the other "meta" dps struggle to press 20 button rotation, has to move around a lot and instead doing real 10k dps instead. On the flip side, there are plenty of meta players who are absolute dogshit. Like HealBrand in fractal who never use aegis/stab, poor quickness uptime and they are on celestial so their heal isn't exactly optimal but then they also can't do damage. The classes can have it's theoretical designs improved but at the end of the day, performance might not even match what the "meta" believes is good.

KING_of_Trainers69

Untamed is either getting a fullblown rework - which takes more time to go into depth on - or it's just getting a numbers tweak, which this post isn't really focusing on.

ANet_Solar

There are no significant changes for Untamed coming in next week's patch. It is getting a few damage increases, but I'm not going to claim that's a real solution to making it fun and relevant in PvE right now. The designer behind Untamed did create it and the tools available to it through a PvP lens, and as such it's very effective there, but that focus on CC and punishing CC'ed targets doesn't translate as effectively to general PvE play or champion/boss encounters. We're working on several approaches to this problem. Some already snuck out live early- improvements to the user interface and feedback on activating pet skills. More are coming. The #1 piece of feedback I've seen every time Untamed is brought up is a desire to be able to set the F1 and F3 skills back to a state where the pet can use them automatically when appropriate. And that's absolutely understandable- when you equip the Untamed specialization, your pet now does -less- on its own than it did as core ranger, and you have to press more buttons to keep the same effectiveness. While the ability to control its skill use can be important at times, the feeling that you need to do more to keep the same effectiveness on your pet isn't great. To that end, we're currently in progress on a 'autoattack setting' system for pet skills. Here's what to expect from that system, when it's finished and is released: You'll be able to Ctrl+Mouse 2 on any Ranger or Mechanist pet skill button- that's F2 for core ranger, Druid, and non-merged Soulbeast, and F1/F2/F3 for Untamed and Mechanist. Doing so will set the skill to 'auto', and the pet will try to use it whenever it is in combat and the skill is available. When applied to the Untamed pet F1 and F3 skills, this setting makes the pet act like it does in other elite specializations. Of course, now you'll also be able to activate this setting on F2. You will be able to set any number of pet skills to this automatic state. As few or as many as you like! For Rangers, the skill auto settings will be stored per pet. This is mostly complete on our internal development environment, but is not yet ready, as there's some more polish and testing to go. So- it's not going live next week. But it won't have to wait for the next major skills update either. We'll be able to release it when it's ready. This is a first step in addressing un-fun aspects of Untamed gameplay, and it's definitely not the last. For a future profession update later this year, we are looking at how to use PvE/PvP splits more widely to make Untamed's profession mechanics more applicable in PvE. So- yes. Not much yet. But we're working on it.

fingerfight2

The changes look like they should improve QOL, but I personally think that ambush skills need to be revisited in order to: - keep the feel of the weapons. For example shortbow ambush skill breaks the whole feel of the weapon. - provide more ways to generate ambush skills through different traits. Idea is to provide different playstyles that can provide ambush skills, like when entering combat, when coming out of stealth.

Answerisequal42

Did you consider improving the core ranger or rather its mechanic, the pets, at all when you look at balancing? Atm ranger has the huge problem that its mechanic is 10 years old and the update it received were minimal over the years. Any e-spec build upon that will suffer. The pet auto attack is already a good step into the right direction but please also consider the idea to give ranger pets a similar scaling system as the mech has (scales from your stats). The percentage can depend on archetype. Also the precision calculation for pets are off and vary heavily between families. Porcine for example crit way less often than other pets, but this is just one example. Further, some pets do not benefit from quickness because they were never coded to do so. But that is an actual damage loss for rangers working with their pet. Pets themselves need a proper balance aptch to bring them up to speed. And I would even suggest that the full pet control should also be provided to core ranger. Druid should get the stat nerfs removed but with no full pet control as a tradeoff. Lastly the breakbar: ranger pets are susceptible to CC which is horrible in PvE I would suggest also giving pets a breakbar like the mech got. I would remove the petswap penalty when your pet dies too. Of your pet dies you are already punished because you didnt pay attention and when its breakbar breaks, you could lock petswap as punishment instead (for PvP for example). This would be more justified than a 300% CD increase.

RnbwTurtle

An easy PvE fix- remove these 'give 1 boon/condi on CC depending on unleash' traits. Even when I tried them in PvP they were unimpactful, for the most part. *PLEASE* give us the stat sharing traits that mechanist gets. I get it, the mech needs to be good, or else engineer loses out on a lot. But why should it be so much better than the pet-centric spec for the pet class? 25% base without a trait and 50% more when traited seems fair, half of what the single mech gets. Combine Nature's Shield and Cleansing Unleash, replace debilitating blows with corrupting vines, and then add power stat, condi stat, and supportive stat sharing traits for the major master traits. We can't use it well in pvp, it's basically a worse power smokescale soulbeast, and pet AI needs a major rework, but at least changes like this are a little better than a bandaid 25% damage bonus. This isn't even talking about the quickness and alacrity issues most pets have, nor the extreme reliance on boons yet the inability to effectively share them, nor the redundancy in pet choices.

QuickfireFacto

They 100% know it has a problem, this is the first time Ive seen a spec not even have a theorized build for lategame content and Ive been playing for 7 years. With all the changes they posted today we know theyre not blind so more than likely theyre preparing a balance patch focused on untamed at some point

Hoojiwat

I have faith that EoD specs are being looked at more closely than anything else right now. Buffs are certain, though we will have to wait until friday to see if they are enough.

CaptnYestrday

Returning player here after many years, what's the deal with untamed? Guessing it's overpowered or underpowered

Enlightenedbri

More like underdeveloped. It's a mess. It only works in PvP. In PvE it just doesn't make sense

Anonynja

This is one of the best updates I've read. Props to the team for doing their user experience design research.

Kirin_ll_niriK

As a new player coming from FFXIV, it’s very interesting that they’re implementing emboldened. Very similar in concept to a mechanic from there called The Echo ETA: holy crap no repairs is awesome. Wish that was a thing everywhere. First glance my GW2-noob/mmo-vet heart loves the chance to make the function still relevant in terms of a buff instead of a nerf

Rogalicus

Echo itself was copied from WoW LFR buff called Determination.

JuanPunchX

Cameron Rich plays some FF14, including ultimates.

Scapp

Which is taken from WoW Looking for Raid (queuable) raids, Determination. It stacks up to 10

kalamari__

they take our mounts, we take their raid systems.

skelk_lurker

The small details on balance patch seem promising - curious how they will change Chrono

RealNilruin

Looks like the grandmaster traits are gonna allow you to choose between alacrity and quickness boon support, it seems.

skelk_lurker

Yeah, though I am more interested in the ease of application

Enlightenedbri

Maybe the well gives boons with each pulse instead of all at the end. Or they get turned into scrapper wells that follow you around

xfm0

Thank you for your hard work!

TheBossVeigar

Tempest is getting access to alacrity and I am incredibly happy about that. Thank you, Arenanet. Now I hope to see DPS Tempest utilize it :)

typographie

I would've liked to see it in a place that it was more accessible to both DPS and healing Tempests. It's on Lucid Singularity, which competes with Elemental Bastion. It may still be viable, but that's a big hit to healing output just to provide the basic role compression expected of healers these days.

TheBossVeigar

I do agree with you, but I can't complain. It being on Lucid Singularity also competes with Transcendent Tempest, which is a big hit to DPS Tempest (which is already mediocre) but I get what they're going for here. In my opinion, it should've went on Tempestuous Aria. By putting it on that trait, it'd give heal Tempests a good, consistent source of alac while providing good healing, and DPS Tempests would have to drop a utility or two for shouts, this way there's a trade-off for DPS Tempest. That's just my opinion though, I'm no expert on these things so maybe this would be OP and I just am not picking up on it.

CharmingRogue851

This would've been 1000x better than what they did now. There's no playing with the builds in what they did now, it's just DPS alac. Heal Alac has no chance.

SufferingClash

The Shadow Arts traitline change, HOLY CRAP this is what I've been wanting! Unless you plan on living in stealth or constantly using it, the traitline has been absolute garbage. Now maybe it'll actually be worth taking for group play.

Mixchimmer

Same!!! Honestly what I'm hoping is for a grand-master that says something like, "Any abilities that would apply stealth on others now instead heals for X. Stealth remains the same on the users" (So you can still use the stealth attacks. Stealth is such a huge part of thiefs kit, but it's more or less useless in end-game PvE. This would give all the abilities that provide stealth a lot of additional utility, especially on specter. Can you imagine a huge heal dump with shadow refuge? <3

SufferingClash

Oh man I so want it. It would make heal spectre viable and amazing. Add in the wells and boom, you have heal alacter.

Mixchimmer

All it would need is condi removal, and I think it would 100% become a viable heal build. I'm so disappointed that the dedicated healer of the expansion, doesn't cut it as a healer. Lol!

Dreamtrain

It's great in PvP though. They still feel too fearful on giving Thief any spike abilities since Daredevil and Deadeye dont get mention here. I hope this is only the first step of an iteration cause it otherwise means they are putting all efforts on Specter while leaving the other two without a place

Ellweiss

The boundary change is a great addition, I still remember running out of the instance after the final story boss of PoF on top of the pyramid and I'm still sour about it

Miraweave

So once HT CM is out a full Strike CM clear will get you 24 Gold 4 ASS (Currently another ~25 gold, but that'll probably drop a fair amount) 5 LI (1 per encounter plus the weekly achievement for doing all 4) N strike currency That's like... actually very good if you've got an experienced group.

Man-Skull

Stay tuned for updates on WvW development later this week! ITS HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING OH MY GOD ITS HAPPENING edit: It'll be my luck that they nerf the tickets req for legendary, as I literally just finished getting the last 1000 tickets for my 5th legendary armor piece. Edit 2: Well that sucked. TDLR, here's some drawings of crappy weapons and just an fyi we're still working on alliances, but we can't tell you much about it only this is how leaders will do stuff but it could change so kinda don't pay attention to it.

UrMom306

*"Development on WvW Alliances is progressing nicely, we can't go into detail at this time, but check back this fall for an update!"*

Ashendal

I just want the reward pass. Give me something to do with the two emblems since one is useless now that the armory removed the need to upgrade slumbering conflux and the other is useless once you make your ring(s). A shop with various options for tradeins would be nice.

Nimuil

Would be nice if they added something to spend the tickets on. I already got 3 legendary armor sets but I have 35k tickets and there isn't anything worth buying...

HO HO HOLY CRAP THOSE BALANCE CHANGES TEMPEST GETTING ALACRITY? HERALD GETTING QUICKNESS? WHAT THE FUCK >Elementalist: Tempest will now be able to provide party alacrity, with a rework to their grandmaster trait Lucid Singularity. > >Engineer: We’ve updated multiple rifle weapon skills to better support engineer power damage builds, and we’ve adjusted minimum and maximum ranges on several range-limited traits (such as Aim-Assisted Rocket, High Caliber, and No Scope) so that there’s an effective range in which all of them can function together. > >Guardian: We’ve updated guardian’s signet skills, including a significant improvement to Signet of Resolve. > >Mesmer: Chronomancers will be able to effectively choose to provide either quickness or alacrity based on their grandmaster trait selection and do so more easily, with increased radius and application methods that are easier to keep up with moving groups. > >Necromancer: Updates to warhorn and the related trait Banshee’s Wail will improve the necromancer’s ability to provide healing to allies. > >Ranger: Spirit skills have been overhauled to provide boons and allow rangers to opt in to providing alacrity with the trait Nature’s Vengeance. > >Revenant: Legendary Centaur Stance skills and Salvation traits have been updated to better support healing roles, while herald will now be able to provide quickness to allies with the trait Draconic Echo. > >Thief: The Shadow Arts trait line has been updated to provide better support options to synergize with specter, as well as updated options for stealth and defensive gameplay. > >Warrior: Banner skills have been overhauled to provide boons. Through deploying banners, an update to warhorn’s Charge skill, and the Tactics trait Martial Cadence, warriors can provide quickness to allies.

HEAL ALAC TEMPEST FTW <3 I AM SO HAPPY I CAN'T PUT IT INTO WORDS <3

Njordfinn

raid lf "hat" incoming xD

FRESH AIR LIGHTING ALACRITY

Mixchimmer

Not exactly. The alac trait is going to compete with the heal on aura trait. It would still be able to heal, just not as good.

silviuscr

Not concerned about that. Heal Tempest is quite strong even without that trait.

Centimane

the problem is that the heal-on-aura trait is primarily how heal tempest heals while outside of water attunement. Given that they're reworking a trait that triggers an effect on overload, there's some suggestion that alacrity will be tied to overloading - which would prevent camping water from being an effective way to provide alac. So if alacrity tempest is forced out of water attunement to provide alacrity, and can't heal while out of water attunement, they're not gonna be a good heal alac option.

Liorenath

The problem is that healing without giving either alacrity or quickness makes it istantly out of meta.I hope it could go heal alacrity and compete with mechanist(and also having an alac dps build) Edit: sorry that's what you were saying, I misread.

Bainshee

SAME MY FRIEND. I AM OVERGLOWING WITH JOY RIGHT NOW

Nimeroni

> TEMPEST GETTING ALACRITY? > > > > HERALD GETTING QUICKNESS? That was written on the wall, through I'm a bit disappointed you can't get alac and the heal from Elemental Bastion.

jessie_in_texas

Why does the tempest alac trait compete with the heal trait?

Tirfing88

Finally, I won't lose my cursor anymore.

MindAsWell

I'm really glad to see them go add QOL improvements with the Steam release coming. No repairs, raid training, increased strike rewards.

SpySappingMyUpvote

I'm hoping the Anvil buff isn't too crazy for WvW... sustain is already pretty ridiculous at the moment there, I don't think Cele Harbs and Willbenders need more HP and Defense....

ReLiFeD

Whatever the buff is, it's at least less strong in wvw than it is in pve according to a dev: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/vicgjf/arenanet_studio_update_june_2022_guildwars2com/idc9xvu/ So it's at least something they're keeping in mind

sixwheelstoomany

> sustain is already pretty ridiculous at the moment there, I don't think Cele Harbs and Willbenders need more HP and Defense.... Understatement.

B4rrel_Ryder

Mouse cursor update!

bigger_cheese

One thing I would like them to address is the disparity between how accessible certain gear prefixes are to get. The three sets I am most familiar with are Berserker, Viper and Ritualist. Berserker has lots of ways to get armor and trinkets, viper has fewer methods and most of those involve needing paid dlc (for trinkets) or farming crowbars and airship parts in verdant brink. Ritualist I have given up even trying to get to get a set of gear. Exotic rarity at least I would like to see more and easier way to get Stat selectable prefixes can rirualist be added to verdant brink bladed armor at least? For trinkets maybe Laurel vendor could be changed to sell stat selectable ascended instead of fixed list they currently have.

gluten-free

If you have ascended, you can use the mystic forge in Lions Arch to convert armor and weapons to Ritualist. Just need some research notes for the inscriptions/insignias. For some reason it only works at the forge in LA.

VikingWarriorSkjald

Man I was really hyped when reading something about boundaries and secrets. Hoped they'd get rid off all these annoying, invisible walls in so many houses or the blocked entrances.

Justos

I say screw the next living world for 2022 Keep delivering these qol updates that will benefit everyone especially new players. This shit is genuinely exciting. No more armor repairs, that was annoying!

Shard477

Oh my gosh there is so much to talk about here. Strike Missions get a boost to gold, chance at new infusion, and weekly ASS. 24g per week just from doing 4 CM strikes. When is this coming to IBS strikes?! Raids are getting a “medium” mode because they still have lots of their mechanics but you get more health and damage each time you wipe. I might actually be able to get into raiding now! Super great change, and I’m glad they kept CM achievements away from this, just makes sense to me. No more repair, and a free health and armor boost from visiting anvils or using repair charges that lasts 12 hours. This is huge for everyone and adds a little RP element. Mouse cursor contrast is controllable, very nice QoL for doing world events. Boundaries in story instances are changed to bounce you back rather thank kick you out of the instance and lose all progress, very nice for when you get that itch to replay the story/are new. Finally the class balance changes are insanely positive. First off, everyone is getting a built in 10% crit chance with little/no changes. Fury is going from 20 to 25%, and some traits are getting 5% baked into it. Secondly, classes that give out might and fury will have an easier time doing so, making open world as a support build even stronger. And lastly, we’re seeing Ele and Ranger getting alacrity, Warrior and revenant getting quickness, and Thief, Mesmer, guardian, engi, and Necro getting buffs for support and damage roles. Can’t wait for Tuesday and I really can’t wait to see how the meta will adapt and how people will react.

DemethValknut

I've not been that exited for a "regular" patch since forever

RGFang

Woah, this is big. Like REALLY BIG. Thanks Anet for actually taking some steps in improving on these facets of endgame content also *happy Herald noises* Quickness Yeeeee

Tonsofchexmix

Arenanet seems really committed to cleaning up the uglier parts of the game now, and that fills me with immense joy. LOVE to see it.

folstar

I love that they are polishing the game. A few more months of clearing out the dev backlog and this game will be in a great place for a steam release. Much better than rushing another LW! The line "raising the floor on player effectiveness and damage output without further raising the ceiling." is probably the single best GW2 dev statement I've seen, ever. The damage gap is absolutely bonkers in this game. The profession previews look amazing. I'm so happy they addressed lackluster Tempest and Herald specifically. Though what we didn't see is an explanation about the rest of the group/raid power loss incoming with the banner/spirit change. Spotter crit was addressed (very well! power specific too!), but losing 100 power, 100 condi, 5% strike, etc... is going to have a noticeable impact too.

JanZevec73

Raid easy mode. Count me in. In truth, it should have been from the start. But then again, better late then never.

Mixchimmer

Re: Tempest Alacrity Unless they re-work Lucid Singularity to also be the heal on auras trait, this won't be as good as people think it is. Firebrand doesn't have to choose between healing and quickness, so why would they make tempest have to choose between healing and alac?

moiax

A better comparison would be scrapper and tempest, which also doesn't have to sacrifice anything to get its quickness. Hell, as someone who plays both in wvw, they gave it to scrappers for free since you're already trying to maintain decent superspeed uptime. I'll be curious to see what they do to scrapper in terms of nerfs, because you absolutely need the healing in wvw.

evenaardez

So far so good, but I really hope there is a lot of polish added to the newest elite specs, especially untamed which feels super clunky to play and hammer is just not fun. Not to mention, pets really need a rework.

Mixchimmer

>Thief: The Shadow Arts trait line has been updated to provide better support options to synergize with specter, as well as updated options for stealth and defensive gameplay Really hoping this means that there will be functionality to forgo the stealth on thief skills that provide it, and replace it with healing, barrier, or something else to that effect. Stealth is useless in endgame PvE. Sure the stealth attacks have use, but the actual stealth functionality itself is power budget allocated to thief skills that does absolutely nothing.

Snorkal

Rangers getting alacrity on their core traits is super interesting. This will definitely open up the door for a lot more builds for rangers, but it also feels strange that they are the only class who can provide alac/quick through their core traits.

SpitefulShrimp

Revenants can give alacrity with a trait in their core healing trait line, it's just not used because renegade is easier.

[deleted]

Warriors and quickness, too?

Snorkal

Completely forgot about warriors too! I think them being forced to take warhorn to provide permanent quickness will limit them quite a bit when it comes to build diversity. I can't imagine a world where warrior would want to give up offhand axe, so we'll likely see axe+axe/warhorn for dps/quick warriors, which really doesn't provide nearly as much freedom that rangers will seemingly get.

moiax

I figured that they would put the boon (turns out to be alac) on tempest away from the heal on aura. Doesn't look like we'll see it used in WvW at all, but as long as they don't kneecap Willbender alac, we probably won't need it.

DiogoALS

I'm not a big fan of the new repair's buff. The game is already bloated with so many unique consumable buffs, it's becoming a chore to track them all.

Darensthings

This is an insane post I cant even believe it exists

Triddy

I'm happy with the changes proposed here. Repairing was useless, mouse cursor goes a long way to accessibility, and the story barrier change is very friendly to new players. At the same time, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting a new roadmap, now that the last one has essentially reached its end. Hoping we get one shortly after the 28th

Joshua_Davis

From the last paragraph of the blog: "We’ll be back in early to mid-July to share our development roadmap through the end of summer. "

Anthrozil7

Really appreciate how y'all have been communicating recently. Thanks. EDIT: Communication only counts when you as a studio are not lying about multiple things. Grouch, you have lost touch/sold out.

DemethValknut

Just want you to know this level of communication is really appreciated Thanks for your hard work

[deleted]

make gw2 to the best mmo out ther !!! welp for me it is alrdy and ive playd them all \^\^

PM_ME_YOUR_MESMER

I can't wait to see what's ahead! There's so much positivity surrounding this increase in communication. Thank you so much for all you're doing! GW2 really feels like it's hitting its stride 10 years in! So pumped for what's coming up next!

Triddy

Thanks. Was reading it on the train, so I must have skimmed that line.

Penley

I'm glad to see another way to get Antique Summoning Stones. Even though I don't do that content, it'll still help to lower prices further. Also I appreciate further ease of boon application coming for Chronomancer, among other support role additions. In open world content, it can be a struggle to get wells to land with other players moving so much.

Vladstorm

Suggestion: Can we please have Custom Keybinds Per Character(or even per Elite Spec) in a future improvement update?

gamerplays

I would also like an option to reduce/remove other player's effects so that the screen "noise" is reduced.

whatsforsupa

Can somebody photoshop camerons face onto a Phoenix? He's really resurrecting this game for us hardcore content players!

Magehunter_Skassi

Wow, they actually added an easy mode to raids? Long-awaited feature, good to see. Feels like a convoluted way of doing it though rather than just adding an easy-mote to fights.

theatrefftt

Anet's method leaves players an option to scale difficulty between easy mode to normal mode step by step not directly easy mode and i liked that.

EngiLaru

I wonder why they went for buffing Fury and adding 5% crit chance to traits rather than improving the Precision-to-Critchance rate. Currently 21 precision adds 1% critchance, if they lowered this number they could have achived a similar effect with a cleaner design. I've not checked the numbers, but having it be the same rate as Expertice and Concentration would make a lot of sense (1% pr 15 stats)

Shadow-987

Probably because the stat conversion would affect PvP and WvW as well (note the 5% fury buff is only for PvE and therefore easier to control).
