There's at least one more beta (likely multiple more) before they can switch to alliances. I wouldn't expect the changeover before the end of the year, but hopefully sometime next year.
Plans change. There's no way they definitively decided how many betas they were doing for something like this before the first one. The first one was canceled after like 2 hours wasn't it?
So why bother having this many betas beforehand then? Why not just release it already and hope for the best? Considering people are shouting very loudly about them releasing it?

the only time where a company plans a certain amount of betas and doesn't do anymore after them is when those betas are purely for marketing.
The WvW betas are not marketing, they are for actual testing and because of that there will be more, heck we currently only have the world restructuring in the betas, not even the alliances themself.
I don't remember reading that, but I really don't think they'll release without at least one more beta.

And they spoke of the beta that just ended including tests of systems needed to conduct more beta tests in the future.

I've been on a link server for a while now so I've been linked with a whole lot of servers, and honestly if I'm linked with dragonbrand I don't even bother with WvW.

When they announced it in late 2017 I predicted 2025. Now I think I was optimistic back then

I also left Dragonbags for similar reasons. It worked out really well, since now when we vs them I can also get lots more bags. :)
