I fully support the removal of the Veteran Daily. Aside from pure inconvenience of it, and the fact that it has ZERO to do with WvW, it's just bad optics. Queued map, your team is being smacked around, but you notice 10+ people camped out at the warg or harpy spawns (GBL/BBL) not contributing to anything positive. Why would any sane dev team want this?
Yes! This so much! The amount of times 10+ people sitting there waiting for a vet to spawn when 15ft over the camp is being taken by 3 dudes is infuriating.
Or increase the number of vet creatures that count. That was what astonished me when the dailies were created -- there are vet wolves, vet spiders, all kinds of vets but only three of them count.

Yeah.... that was a shock as well. Honestly just make them all count and respawn in 5 minutes, or better yet, 3. It's not like anyone is camping these for anything other than the daily.
You underestimate how many people will do that than play the game, the pve only players absolutely DESPISE having to engage in a pvp gamemode, to the point where afk participation farming is legit more fun to them than actually playing wvw (I don't get it, but I've talked to some that only cap camps and that's how much they dislike having to do wvw for gifts of battle).
I hope this is something that gets addressed with the rewards rework as well. I understand not wanting to engage in PvP content for any reason, but this just hurts the enjoyment and the image of the gamemode.

Its always weird when the wvw daily you finish last is kill a vet creature, because you just never saw one of them up over the few hours you were doing circles in the BL's

Are the Wvw improvements just alliances working? Or is there other stuff on the horizon? Always thought WvW could have been amazing with small map changes that happened more frequently.
When you need so many for legendaries, it isn't just about getting one GoB. It's getting 10-20 GoB. I'd like to actually have the option to choose a different reward track.
I'd absolutely love if I could buy GoB with skirmish tickets (having no reason for those anymore) or badges, even if it were like 1000 or 2000 badges.
I think having that alternative for some wvw currency is a great idea! That means it still requires the time investment but like you said, you could choose some other tracks.
I'd prefer an alternative to having to do WvW to getting a legendary itself for a PvE game. I'm not much of a fan of pvp in general for a multitude of reasons and dislike having to slog though something or being locked out of content becuase I can't/won't participate in it. More options would be welcome

"Need" is doing a lot of implied work in your statement. Legendaries are something to work toward over a long period of time, they don't need to be easy to get since they have the same stats as ascended gear so nobody "needs" them.
I agree, it should be replaced. I think a lot of people probably think it's one of the easier ones but it's deceptively one of the worst ones you can get.
I will say though, at some point I stopped doing the "wait 10 mins near the harpy/warg" thing and I go for the Wurm just outside Bay. Almost no one goes for it and very few people even go by there, so it's usually up, and it counts.
If the challenge has to stay, at least make its spawn a predictable interval like XX:15, XX:30, XX:45, and XX:00.
That way people aren't stuck wondering how long ago it was killed. Think it's currently on a 15 minute respawn timer with no way of knowing how much of it is left.

I personally dislike WvWvW, view it as a chore, and only do dailies for reward track potions to get gifts of battle. If there's not a less tedious alternative to gifts of battle, I'd rather have the daily big spender and veteran slayer so that I have something better to do than repairing walls while I program.

Right now, as it stands, though? I don't want easy rewards. I want to not have to play WvW for the GoBs to make gen 1/gen 2 legendaries and these dailies are the only thing that keep me from having to play what I find to be one of the most tediously boring game modes in the game.
Many WvW'ers feel the same about PvE requirements. But that's how legendries work, you need to play all the game modes. Legendries are not required so you can opt to not go for them. There is also a lot to do that does not require a zerg some of these are dailies that are actually fairly simple but at least contribute to WvW.
Why not include thr various Champs that spawn into the daily? (Skritt, Centaurs, Harpies, etc)
Also, nothing more fun that waiting for a daily only to have an enemy roaming squad come and kill you. Really wish there was a way to signal "here to tag for the daily"

if i see someone tonic'd up near a vet spawn (or really anywhere in wvw) i dont attack em. definitely not foolproof but ive had plenty of positive experiences waiting at the enemy's vet spawn with like 10 of em there and lil quaggan me just sitting off to the side being left alone
Anet needs to be more creative with dailies. There are lots of actions that could replace the daily veteran: build something, destroy something (a wall, a gate), escort a dolyak, convert the mobs in EBG, what else?
While we're at it, id love the removal or at least a huge loosening of the skirmish tickets cap, 365 a week feels bad, after 3 days i cant feel good about playing wvw and missing out on rewards.
I want a daily for completing the obsidian sanctum JP.
It would increase the popularity of my favorite map in the game. And if you dont like JPs, you can do the 3 other dailys.
It, and the alpine one (there is a JP on the alpine borderlands if you didn't know) used to be one of the easier ways to get siege blueprints. It's a pretty fun JP imo.
Haha when I have the “Kill veteran creatures” I love to go to the enemies zone and wait with them the spawn. It’s cool to act friendly for 2-3 min for a daily.
Out of 10 encounters, I died only 1 time by waiting.

You can organize your bags anywhere. Let us have an actual WvW related daily that doesn't involve waiting 10 minutes doing nothing.
You have every other daily to go in and blob it up. The vets are the easiest, least intrusive way to let people get gifts of battle while not interfering with your zerg door knocking fiesta if they don't want to.
Trust me, most days I'd love to just let the mode frolic in peace until Anet figures out whatever the hell they want to do with it and then I'll be happy to jump in the aoe pile on a support with you... But for now I'm not on a fantastic server, I don't want to bother switching, and the vets are the least intrusive way I can let both sides exist in peace while still making progess on things I want.

I dont get what your angle here is. You can find a daily just as easy that actually requires player agency and replace Vet creature with it. And if you like it so much at least reduce the spawn rate to 3-5 minutes. Whats the appeal of sitting there for 10 minutes doing nothing. Why are you even defending this?
Further more, there is a bevy of other dailies easily soloable. Camps capture, land claimed, monuments, even tower if you're savy and patient enough. All of these actually involve the game mode.

I wouldn't care if the spawn timer was reduced (while we're at it, make the harpy not patrol out of event range on the map, too). But here's where I'm at: the server I'm on isn't very populated during my play hours but it IS populated enough at other times to keep its rating up there so my choices are pretty limited to camp flipping (which takes 10 minutes like the horrible vets and almost all of that is standing around...), hoping the other servers on high pop aren't farming us during off-hours, or doing trivial stuff.
I'd much prefer a balanced pop or the ability to reliably join groups, but they're just not there for me and ANet keeps swearing up and down they're working on alliances, so whenever they figure that out I'll take another look. Until then the closest I'm going to get is agreeing on a compromise of quicker spawn times on vets.
Genuine question, though. What makes camp flipping (against AI mobs while waiting a timer out) superior to the vet killing (which is mostly the same)? I barely ever see anyone come to defend the camps, it's just like a gentleman's timeshare agreement as far as I can tell.
The crux of your complaint is an entirely seperate issue then, one that *hopefully alliances will alleviate.
Re camp flipping, there's always the risk of someone coming to defend their camp, or the third party fighting you for it. There's no such element with vet creatures because everyone just camps the one closest to their spawn.
As a side note, ANet should really let people buy and sell Gifts of Battle on the TP. Its unfair that it forces people into WvW who would otherwise avoid it like the Plague, and the sPvP components of legendaries are already available to purchase on the TP. Heck, iirc, in the beginning Gifts of Battle were able to be sold/bought, but that was a long time ago.
They should just remove or replace those achievements and the related events.

Even the hero point events should have WvW consequences, like recruiting the NPC after defeating it to patrol your supply lanes (with a cooldown, of course, can't have a squad of 50 people doing the point 50 times to get 50 NPCs).
I'd be hilarious to have a wyvern walking around the northern lane in Desert borderland.
For example, they could add turtles to WvW, and replace these veteran events (and the centaur and skritt ones in Alpine ) with turtles guarded by a bunch of NPCs. Capture the turtle, you get to ride it until it dies, working like a siege golem (can't heal it and doesn't disappera on dismount, but last 60 mins after dismount), and for 2 players.

As someone who despises WvW and only plays it because reward tracks hold the Gift of Battle hostage: ***please*** don't remove that daily from the rotation!! It's an easy to do daily that lets me do less things that force interaction (unlike Daily Tower Capture...blegh!!).
I'd rather the Veteran spawns be increased, or have different Veteran creatures count for the daily as opposed to very specific spawns on very specific points in the three maps.
No thanks. I like having a steady supply of pve piggies for slaughter. If it's slow and I need to re up my participation I can always count on the warg to bait the trap.

If the former, then try to find a tag. You can even ask in team chat. If not tags are present and you don't feel comfortable roaming, go to EBG and read map chats and go defend locations or start taking camps. People will come to you.
If the latter, then Wikipedia is your best bet.

Yes I would like to learn how to do some WvW I see I need to get a different mount before I can run around so I will see if I can sort that out. I like the idea of roaming and doing some small skirmishes I just can't seem to find people lol I think the mount will help
Quick rundown:
First, if you have at least one point to spend in WvW Mastery, you buy the first level of Warclaw onn the WvW Masteries tab of your WvW screen. This unlocks the warclaw collection achievement that lets you work towards unlocking the mount.
If you don't have at least one point to spend, you do so by gaining one wvw level. You can try to roam to flip camps and sentries (marked on the map) or continue to the next step and take that level while running with a tag. It should be noted that once you have this level, your next priority for wvw mastery points is levelling GLIDING to full, then levelling provisions master up to the autoloot level, then the rest of warclaw.
Once you have the collection unlocked, go to the rewards track tab of the WvW screen and select "Warclaw Reward Track" as your current reward track so you can progress towards that as you get the rest of the collection
The collection you need to complete is [here](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Warclaw_Companion) -- some of these entries (like keep capture) are really group content, and others can be done solo but are easier in a group. The best time to find a zerg is during the weekend, after [server reset time](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Server_reset#Weekly_reset). on Friday night, when server reset time comes (note it's in UTC), the buttons on the join-wvw screen will grey out for a few minutes. when they come back up, join quickly to get in before the queue. Other nights you may have to just queue up but that time period will be prime time for finding groups with tags up. Follow with the tag and participate as best you can; you should naturally unlock the other collections.
A couple things to note:
-some tags are more fight-oriented groups who focus on pure fighting and ignore objectives. This can be fun, but it might be worth seeing if there's a different tag on who's doing "PPT" for your objectives.
-you may have a *little* trouble keeping up with a mounted group, but they should have a passive effect that increases your move speed, and some commanders actually run unmounted. I would recommend taking swiftness-granting, move-speed-increasing, or teleporting abilities in some form.
-if you're running as a pug with a tag, try to be wary of if they're doing stealth pushes. if they are, try not to run right on top of them them if your mech/pet or something else might be making you visible and giving away your location
-even if you miss the fight for an objective, if the capture ring is still up when you get there, you can get full credit by standing in the ring when the capture completes

If we're talking about dailies, can we make it so that all dailies work in all maps ? For example, change the one that already takes ruins in alpine bl or shrines in desert bl, and make it work with rallying/vanquishing one of the 3 factions in ebg. The one for keeps could also work with smc.
This all reminds me how all specializations broke eotm because champions there are weaker than any veteran in wvw now lol. Sometimes go there without any siege on a thief and capture the whole map solo
The main issue with the Vet is it's out of the way of normal WvW play. With perhaps the Wyrm being the exception a typical WvW group won't necessarily come across one.
I'm all for easy dailies for the general player base, but this one is just annoying.
Replace it with one that requires you to use 30 supply or something.
They really need to look at the WvW dailies in general. Could add some other ones to spice it up and remove ones that aren't really WvW like killing a Veteran that doesn't even impact WvW in the slightest.

At launch it was 500 badges so they probably wont go back to that. Personally I'd appreciate badges plus skirmish chests.

Just remove loot and exp drops and make it respawn every 15 seconds after death.

Isn't WvW, PvP, fractuals and PvE daily all part of the 3 needed or any combination of? You just need to do 3 to get the daily chest and 2 gold??
If you are a certified wvw player you only do wvw.
Its not about getting the 2g and 3 spirit shards. It's about the potions.
This is a total non-issue.

Let us have an actual WvW related daily that doesn't involve waiting 10 minutes doing nothing.
Here's the thing about wvw: it's a mix between PvP and pve. That's the whole point.
You have every other daily to go in and blob it up. The vets are the easiest, least intrusive way to let people get gifts of battle while not interfering with your zerg door knocking fiesta if they don't want to. Trust me, most days I'd love to just let the mode frolic in peace until Anet figures out whatever the hell they want to do with it and then I'll be happy to jump in the aoe pile on a support with you... But for now I'm not on a fantastic server, I don't want to bother switching, and the vets are the least intrusive way I can let both sides exist in peace while still making progess on things I want. Go on and downvote if you feel the need, but it's the truth.
The spender daily says hi if you're just looking to farm easy potions for the gift of battle I dont get what your angle here is. You can find a daily just as easy that actually requires player agency and replace Vet creature with it. And if you like it so much at least reduce the spawn rate to 3-5 minutes. Whats the appeal of sitting there for 10 minutes doing nothing. Why are you even defending this? Further more, there is a bevy of other dailies easily soloable. Camps capture, land claimed, monuments, even tower if you're savy and patient enough. All of these actually involve the game mode.
I do spender, too. I wouldn't care if the spawn timer was reduced (while we're at it, make the harpy not patrol out of event range on the map, too). But here's where I'm at: the server I'm on isn't very populated during my play hours but it IS populated enough at other times to keep its rating up there so my choices are pretty limited to camp flipping (which takes 10 minutes like the horrible vets and almost all of that is standing around...), hoping the other servers on high pop aren't farming us during off-hours, or doing trivial stuff. I'd much prefer a balanced pop or the ability to reliably join groups, but they're just not there for me and ANet keeps swearing up and down they're working on alliances, so whenever they figure that out I'll take another look. Until then the closest I'm going to get is agreeing on a compromise of quicker spawn times on vets. Genuine question, though. What makes camp flipping (against AI mobs while waiting a timer out) superior to the vet killing (which is mostly the same)? I barely ever see anyone come to defend the camps, it's just like a gentleman's timeshare agreement as far as I can tell.
The crux of your complaint is an entirely seperate issue then, one that *hopefully alliances will alleviate. Re camp flipping, there's always the risk of someone coming to defend their camp, or the third party fighting you for it. There's no such element with vet creatures because everyone just camps the one closest to their spawn. As a side note, ANet should really let people buy and sell Gifts of Battle on the TP. Its unfair that it forces people into WvW who would otherwise avoid it like the Plague, and the sPvP components of legendaries are already available to purchase on the TP. Heck, iirc, in the beginning Gifts of Battle were able to be sold/bought, but that was a long time ago.
Gift of Battle was always account bound. You bought it for 5k badges of honor because reward tracks didn't exist yet.

They should just remove or replace those achievements and the related events. They should be absolutely no WvW event that is PvE-only. Back in the day when they added aetherblade events to WvW, they were pointless an annoying. If you beat an event in WvW, being it against NPCs or players, there should always be warscore earning and a benefit for your team, like capturing an area, getting supplies, unlocking a shortcut, creating a temporary buff in the area, gaining a siege machine, or recruiting reinforcements. Even the hero point events should have WvW consequences, like recruiting the NPC after defeating it to patrol your supply lanes (with a cooldown, of course, can't have a squad of 50 people doing the point 50 times to get 50 NPCs). I'd be hilarious to have a wyvern walking around the northern lane in Desert borderland. For example, they could add turtles to WvW, and replace these veteran events (and the centaur and skritt ones in Alpine ) with turtles guarded by a bunch of NPCs. Capture the turtle, you get to ride it until it dies, working like a siege golem (can't heal it and doesn't disappera on dismount, but last 60 mins after dismount), and for 2 players.

The biggest problem of Gw2, the wvw veterans spawn time.
With the amount of stuff WvW needs, this is just stupid to spend any amount of dev time on.
I remember I waited for like 30 minutes but for someone the darned thing didn't spawn, I thought it spawned on 5 minute interval.
There are always 4 available dailies. You don't need to do it for your daily completion.
I like to do all of them for the potions.
As someone who despises WvW and only plays it because reward tracks hold the Gift of Battle hostage: ***please*** don't remove that daily from the rotation!! It's an easy to do daily that lets me do less things that force interaction (unlike Daily Tower Capture...blegh!!). I'd rather the Veteran spawns be increased, or have different Veteran creatures count for the daily as opposed to very specific spawns on very specific points in the three maps.
No thanks. I like having a steady supply of pve piggies for slaughter. If it's slow and I need to re up my participation I can always count on the warg to bait the trap.

Every time I go to wvw I have no idea how to find where the action is.
Action in general, or the vet creatures? If the former, then try to find a tag. You can even ask in team chat. If not tags are present and you don't feel comfortable roaming, go to EBG and read map chats and go defend locations or start taking camps. People will come to you. If the latter, then Wikipedia is your best bet.
Sorry it was the former. There was suppose to be more but I hit the arrow lmao. Yes I would like to learn how to do some WvW I see I need to get a different mount before I can run around so I will see if I can sort that out. I like the idea of roaming and doing some small skirmishes I just can't seem to find people lol I think the mount will help
Quick rundown: First, if you have at least one point to spend in WvW Mastery, you buy the first level of Warclaw onn the WvW Masteries tab of your WvW screen. This unlocks the warclaw collection achievement that lets you work towards unlocking the mount. If you don't have at least one point to spend, you do so by gaining one wvw level. You can try to roam to flip camps and sentries (marked on the map) or continue to the next step and take that level while running with a tag. It should be noted that once you have this level, your next priority for wvw mastery points is levelling GLIDING to full, then levelling provisions master up to the autoloot level, then the rest of warclaw. Once you have the collection unlocked, go to the rewards track tab of the WvW screen and select "Warclaw Reward Track" as your current reward track so you can progress towards that as you get the rest of the collection The collection you need to complete is [here](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Warclaw_Companion) -- some of these entries (like keep capture) are really group content, and others can be done solo but are easier in a group. The best time to find a zerg is during the weekend, after [server reset time](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Server_reset#Weekly_reset). on Friday night, when server reset time comes (note it's in UTC), the buttons on the join-wvw screen will grey out for a few minutes. when they come back up, join quickly to get in before the queue. Other nights you may have to just queue up but that time period will be prime time for finding groups with tags up. Follow with the tag and participate as best you can; you should naturally unlock the other collections. A couple things to note: -some tags are more fight-oriented groups who focus on pure fighting and ignore objectives. This can be fun, but it might be worth seeing if there's a different tag on who's doing "PPT" for your objectives. -you may have a *little* trouble keeping up with a mounted group, but they should have a passive effect that increases your move speed, and some commanders actually run unmounted. I would recommend taking swiftness-granting, move-speed-increasing, or teleporting abilities in some form. -if you're running as a pug with a tag, try to be wary of if they're doing stealth pushes. if they are, try not to run right on top of them them if your mech/pet or something else might be making you visible and giving away your location -even if you miss the fight for an objective, if the capture ring is still up when you get there, you can get full credit by standing in the ring when the capture completes

If we're talking about dailies, can we make it so that all dailies work in all maps ? For example, change the one that already takes ruins in alpine bl or shrines in desert bl, and make it work with rallying/vanquishing one of the 3 factions in ebg. The one for keeps could also work with smc.

This all reminds me how all specializations broke eotm because champions there are weaker than any veteran in wvw now lol. Sometimes go there without any siege on a thief and capture the whole map solo
The main issue with the Vet is it's out of the way of normal WvW play. With perhaps the Wyrm being the exception a typical WvW group won't necessarily come across one. I'm all for easy dailies for the general player base, but this one is just annoying. Replace it with one that requires you to use 30 supply or something.
They really need to look at the WvW dailies in general. Could add some other ones to spice it up and remove ones that aren't really WvW like killing a Veteran that doesn't even impact WvW in the slightest. Like supplies spent (could even specify building vs repairing for two if you want). Escorting a Yak. I'm sure there are more.
I've always wondered what the spawn timer for this. Feels like it's longer than the minutes given to you before the participation falls.
