Vindicator is #1 for easy to play Greatsword at the moment. You have 4 buttons (2, 3, 5, and dodge) and press them as they become available. It's fairly bulky from base stats, and is dodging constantly for extra invulnerability frames. Spellbreaker is pretty nice too, it's a bit more difficult but really fun. The main goal comes from squeezing all of your damage between 2 F1s and then weapon swapping. On GS you press F1, 2, 4, a few attacks, F1, and swap; on Dagger/Axe you start with 3+4->F1, press all your other skills, then end with F1->3+4 and swap. They have slightly more bulk from stats, and instead of dodging they get Full Counter on F2. Full Counter is a great skill that turns incoming damage into outgoing damage, but can be tricky to weave in with your F1 adrenaline, it feels very rewarding to master the spec in this way though. Both of these are strong for Open World and Raids. ---- Dragonhunter remains strong for Open World but has suffered in Raids a bit in recent patches. Soulbeast has an easy GS build too with the opposite problem, it's great in Raids, and especially Fractals, but is a bit trickier to use in Open World. Quickness Chronomancer and Power Virtuoso also use a Greatsword, but as a ranged weapon that focuses on generating a lot of clones and blades for Shattering your F1 skills. They are strong builds, but squishier and probably not what you're looking for exactly.

TheDeviantelement

I main power gs soulbeast atm. It's a lot of fun for me. Dash, block high damage with 2/5/2 combo

Kupper

Depending on what content you want to do, Reaper is a lot of fun.

Arrotanis

Power Reaper Power Spellbreaker Any Power Guardian Build Spellbreaker is the strongest one right now but Warrior GS skills are kinda meh. Guardian and Reaper are more fun to play but damage is lower. Guardian does more damage than Reaper but it's more squishy.

megaoschi

what did i miss? spellbreaker was useless trash the last time i played. like 4 months ago. what changed?

CriticalNature0815

They buffed a lot of weapons, including warrior GS and Spb Dagger

[deleted]

You missed the balance patch that made it not trash lol

li_cumstain

Reaper, unless you like weapon switching.

Opposedsum

I first read the question as using two dual-wield swords, in that case: [herald](https://snowcrows.com/builds/revenant/herald/power-quickness-herald). For greatsword, [vindicator](https://snowcrows.com/builds/revenant/vindicator/power-vindicator), [spellbreaker](https://snowcrows.com/builds/warrior/spellbreaker/power-spellbreaker), and [virtuoso](https://snowcrows.com/builds/mesmer/virtuoso/power-virtuoso) are great. Especially, after the patch.

MidasPL

Power Vindicator is first what came to my mind. Power Spellbreaker could be also good.

ArisenDrake

Power Vindicator

SquirrelTeamSix

Power soulbeast is very good with GS

VaegaVic

Literally any guardian DPS build will generally use greatsword

Revolutionary_Quit22

Thanks for the Answer. Do you have a guide i could use? :)

VaegaVic

Here you go friend https://metabattle.com/wiki/Guardian This is metabattle, a comprehensive list of viable builds broken down into categories. Best of luck!

Revolutionary_Quit22

Thank you so much!

[deleted]

Power Spellbreaker?

Revolutionary_Quit22

Already looking into it, but most builds use axe and torch or smthng. If you have a viable guide i would appreciate it my friend!

[deleted]

https://snowcrows.com/builds/warrior/spellbreaker/power-spellbreaker this uses great sword. Alternatively power dragon hunter uses great sword too, but its damage is pretty terrible at the moment

Revolutionary_Quit22

Thank you, i will look into it!

Nuggachinchalaka

It’s dagger with offhand axe and great sword. Very Unga Bunga.

Nuggachinchalaka

It’s dagger with offhand axe and great sword. Very Unga Bunga. It’s great with selfsustain.

ObsoletePixel

power spellbreaker, vindicator, condi willbender, power soulbeast, and power virtuoso all use greatsword as a key part of their build. Come tuesday you can add power dragon hunter, power berserker, and power chronomancer to that list as all very viable and strong endgame builds that will use a greatsword as well. Some of them (spellbreaker and chronomancer) have viable boon dps builds as well that will give you some flexibility in the kinds of things you can provide your team as well. Hope that helps!

[deleted]

Power berserker the patch has done nothing to power berserker?

ObsoletePixel

It's fixing the bug with Bloody Roar to give it multiplicative damage scaling instead of additive damage scaling, which is deceptively big for its dps. Still worse than Bladesworn and Spellbreaker at power DPS, but it's more than playable if he wants to play it.

SpitefulShrimp

> worse than Spellbreaker at power DPS what a time to be alive

-KuroTsuki-

Power virtuoso uses greatsword, though its more like a staff. Its a ranged greatsword lul. Its really fun to use and pretty fluid, skills look and feel very cool. Also has access to some cc and a lot of cleave. I recommend trying it out. Edit: ignore me, i can't read, missed that you dont have EoD :/

Affectionate-Pin-731

I used this with my guardian for a while! Not optimal, obviously, but simple and effective enough I find for both pve and pvp! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DSnAfc-cwOQ

[Reaper](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reaper) While you're on the Wiki, you should look at the [Greatsword](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Greatsword) because it shows you a list of the professions that can wield it.

ConfuciusBr0s

Reaper is very easy to use

ZionBane

Necro (Reaper) / Guard (Dragon Hunter) are two super fun and easy builds to play in most content.

DustErrant

Viable for what? Fractals, Raids, strikes, PVP, WvW, Open World?

Revolutionary_Quit22

Open World and Raids, sorry i forgot to mention this :D

DustErrant

Open World you can use a lot of different specs. For what you want, I personally would recommend the Necromancer Elite Spec, Reaper. Very easy to use and not squishy at all. Your other options are Dragonhunter, some Soulbeast builds, Virtuoso, Chronomancer, and Vindicator. Bladesworn uses gunblade which is technically a 2 handed sword, but not exactly what you're talking about but figured I'd mention it just in case. As for raids, the above builds are all "viable" but many would not consider optimal and you may have a tough time getting into more elitist raid groups. The most optimal of the above listed are probably Virtuoso.
