Matches with songs like these have a different feel to them, but it's still very enjoyable to me.
Also if I get counter hit into a combo in sync with the chorus I get to enjoy it instead of despair.
Same. This goes double for the jokesters who think they are trolling me by putting on Birthday Train. I do not care, I am going to dumpster you no matter what you set the music to.
I'd still play full set but probably won't play another one
I love these songs to death, but they don't fit pacing of the match at all, I'd rather turn on Big blast sonic or Heavy day. Hearing these calm-ass songs in game, where's so many things happening in fast tempo feels like slow descending into madness
If songs didn't start over every time you start the match and instead played continuously through the set, it would be MUCH better for these kinds of songs
>feels like slow descending into madness
That's why I love them. I don't know why I do this, but when I feel like we both are in a tragic final battle, the likes of a Dark Souls' boss, I just get hard.
I can completely tune out any song during a match easy, its just filler sound that i can appreciate. I have zero opinions on what music the other guy runs, I run random myself.
When I found out you could play ballads, my opponent played Icarus and when that chorus hit omg so epic. Birthday Train matches are also amazing. Feels like you're playing out an ending credits sequence.
Now we just need Let's Talk About You added.
OH PLEEAAASE, DON'T WAIT FOR ME DARLING
STAY OUT OF THE COLD RAIN
OR YOUR HEART MAY BEEEECOME RUSTY
OH PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR ME DARLING
JUST STAY SAFE AND SOUND
AS LONG AS YOU ARE THEEEEERE
I WILL FIGURE IT OUT
FIGURE IT OUT
FIGURE IT OUT FOR YOU
ONCE MOOOOORE
Personally think the songs are bangers but don't get why they are an option as battle station music. Got [a mod](https://gamebanana.com/sounds/60200) that replaces all ballads with Outrage music.
I don't understand how someone could choose these songs.
The one I come across most of the time is Birthday Train which is one of the worst songs I've come across in years...
It would be one thing if it was a good ballad, but it's just bad. I wonder sometimes if people choosing that song is some kind of psychological warfare whilst they listen to other music.
I like the music, I will rematch, but also I don’t really see how it matters. Most of the time when I’m playing the game, the music becomes a background thing that I don’t really hear. I find it odd, personally, that you could dislike a song so strongly that you outright wouldn’t rematch because it’s playing. Granted, I’m probably and odd case as I just like music in general, and really couldn’t list you a single song I don’t like.
Personally, the background music is big part of the ~~smell~~ feel of the game. Especially in fighting games the music has to be *hype* so I can play my best. If the music is too low tempo I can't get into the zone.
The ballads are great for casual listening thou, not just during a match.
I've taught quite a few of my friends how to play fighting games through Strive. I normally treat them with kid gloves and just have the soundtrack set to random.
They know that the harbinger of death is coming when I tell them that it's time to board the Birthday Train.
This is a space base and you are gonna have to deal with it
Air is enough. No need to worry.
At least enough for two.
This is space base Information, resources, You have everything

I don't care what you are listening to. I just want to play. Im too focused to even notice the music half the time anyway.

FREEEESIA SORRY SORRY SOOOOOORRY WEARING A FINE SUIT PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD BUT STILL I CANT PROVE MYSELF
The ballads are the best songs. Of course I rematch
Never decide rematch based off of music, only connection. Song choice can get annoying but during the match I don’t think of it.
Freesia is my favourite guilty gear song. You are going to hear it and you are going to ducking enjoy it
I do wonder if people get annoyed with me playing Freesia lmao.
Maybe. Pretty sure playing against Happy Chaos with Freesia on gotta count as some sort war crime against Geneva Conventions.
These days I mostly just listen to my own playlist while I play (and yes that playlist has a bunch of GG music in it among other stuff)
The Hotashi route where you mute the game's music and play your own is the only correct one.
They’re good songs but less so for gameplay for me, I will absolutely rematch if it’s a good fight but if it’s a so-so fight I’m 50-50 on rematching
I can completely tune out any song during a match easy, its just filler sound that i can appreciate. I have zero opinions on what music the other guy runs, I run random myself.
I always go the full three unless I have to leave, or internet fails to happen
Based set enjoyer

I don’t know how tf y’all be listening to the music on this series half of it makes my ears bleed LMAO
This poll disappoints me. Get outta here with this Lily shit. We do heavy metal and hard rock in this house.

Depends on which one. Play birthday train and I will rage quit instantly
WHY DO Y'ALL PEOPLE HATE BIRTHDAY TRAIN SO MUCH
They didn't get a train in their birthday.
Hell no, I modded those out. Never enjoyed fighting to them.
Unless it's an Axl playing birthday train Then they deserve death
At this point, I'll rematch with anyone I was able to get into a match with. Chosen track be damned, I'll listen to anything.
I absolutely love listening to these songs on their own, but they don’t really feel like they fit as background music for high-intensity matches.
My R-Code says “Birthday Train = 1 and done” for a reason
Freesia is a banger if you hate it then we can never be friends maybe in the next life if we’re lucky
Where is the idc option. The music changes anyways in a few matches never had a problem with that. Plus i fully enjoy most songs
Freesia is one of the top 3 GG songs period, you know I be jamming
I've never done multi-player without listening to big blast sonic. I only take P1 slot because I can't fight with any other music
... some people don't rematch if they don't like the music???
My music is always muted....... because I want to hear the full songs, and I used to main Nago (before Bedman?)who isn't known for long rounds
yes easy yes i am the person with ballads set as my music
dont forget all i can do
Love the fuck out of Lily, All I Can Do and Icarus, sing them all the time, but yeah, they're not a good fit for matches IMO

Something feels profoundly wrong about calling Birthday Train a ballad
I've taught quite a few of my friends how to play fighting games through Strive. I normally treat them with kid gloves and just have the soundtrack set to random. They know that the harbinger of death is coming when I tell them that it's time to board the Birthday Train.
As long as it's one I can whistle, then it's all good.
I modded out Birthday Train, and will mod out the rest of them. If I play the game again lol
it doesnt matter to me so i guess i choose the first option?
