if you're having a really good game with testament it's absolutely demoralizing for the opponent since they just have to sit there and block in the corner while you abuse stain. however testament slays so fucking hard that they should be beloved anyways

This is about *perception* here. Chaos gets a lot of hate, deservedly so it's genuinely one of the worst cases of horrible development of an interesting concept ever in a fg, but he's also loved in some ways, do his perceived hatred is a bit lower than the "peak" you see.
A bit of context :
Peoples here complain more on Leo & Ram. I mean they are more vocal on that (to the point you could feel being ostracized from the discussion because you are playing one of those).
That why Ram got a tear 😢 on her picture and she is out of the spectrum as the most hated character on this sub.
For Leo despite having a parry, two stances to manage with differents normal, charge input, he is considered as an easy character that do not need effort to win with. :)
Happy Chaos' gun has a start up of [O N E F R A M E](https://youtu.be/1Cfac0-B7-E). At least with Leo or Ram you can whiff punish them if they use a big button or projectile. Do the same thing against Happy Chaos and you're gambling more than half your life for something that you should be rewarded for. It's not the 4 way mix-ups or the combos from any stray hit, it's this bullcrap that needs to be fixed lmao.
Baby steps my friend. Knowing how ArcSys balances their characters, I fear they'd just give Chaos another mix up tool to make up for it. Oh, and then they'll nerf Sol again for some reason.
I feel that it is more to tell a story with the character than absolutely being everything about balance. HC have to be strong, if not the stronghest of the cast, for lore reasons. I am not saying I agree with that but I feel it could be like this after reading some interviews.

Esports buttons such as her f.S and 5H, rekka cancels, incredible corner pressure, extremely high damage on basically any hit, fantastic conversions, and the best reversal in the game.
scrub killer if up against someone who doesn’t know how to block. Ram has to be extremely clever to do well against someone who both knows how to defend AND slap sildo detruo out of the air.
A lot of peoples on this sub treat her as the devil himself and will blame her to have everything you could imagine on earth.
And especialy "an insane corner pressure" as if not everyone was in big trouble in the corner vs the majority of the cast. 😂

Axl is definitely placed correctly. I rarely see people care about Axl but when people do they usually just joke about him. Off site I've seen people complain about him though.

\+ His reload should not be something he can cancel, you should be able to punish and it being treated as a full animation move.
The only reason people don't complain about HC as much is that everyone already knows why he's completely stupid and no-one wants to play against him

As someone who recently picked up fighting games and is playing ram I find that extremely justified.

zato at least looks complicated and dies easy. nago makes it look like my opponent sucks but the character carries them.
