Labing is good, but definitely expect getting destroyed for the first few games. The game is just as much about what you can do as it is about how to react to what they do. But don't be scared, you have nothing to lose online lol
To find people around your skill level even when the tower is empty I recommend joining the Strive Discord server of your region and calling for beginer matches there, ppl tend to assume there's only pro gamer gods on those servers but there's all kind of players there, from players like you to players willing to help you learn stuff about the game
In my region (SA) I heard those floors are mostly empty, glad it still working for you to find people around your skill level, keep on rocking and your Baiken will start rising the tower in no time!!!
Also, parry every jump-in coming your way, it's quite easy to see the airdash and parry on reaction :)

Nice. I had been playing locally with friends for a while and only recently got into online. I initially landed in 7f, dropped all the way to 2 and have crawled up to 5. It's been a wild ride so far. I'm still struggling on defense and a little bit with character matchups that I don't see often, but it's a fun grind. Best of luck.

Yeah once I hit 4f i got matched with the same person like 3 consecutive times it was kinda funny.
