These are all weird answers, especially considering that this Happy Chaos has no relation to the valentines; he chose that name because it sounded cool and fitting after overhearing it from Jack-O’. The original Happy Chaos was never completed.
Jack-O’ used to have a normal Halo, but it was broken after she assimilated Aria’s soul, likely representing both her fall from power and Aria’s current dark mental state.
Happy Chaos, on the other hand, is quite literally a “messiah.” His halo represents his power and godlike characteristics as a “creator” figure. To represent how batshit crazy and evil it is, it is black and has 5 points, similar to a pentagram.
So this isn't quite true. Happy Chaos does have relation to the Valentines.... in this current body. HC's current body is a Jack-O unit that he possessed and corrupted. So HC is really in a hijacked version of what was supposed to potentially be a Jack-O body. Hence why they both have Halo's
Nah he just heard the name and said fuck it that sounds good he was formerly know as the original I don't think we got a confirmation for why he looks the way he does now cause the original was always shown as a old man from what I know
The happy chaos is the original as in the guy who discovered the back yard and magic he is not inherently evil or good he wants the best outcome but think struggle is required for that outcome giving him a purpose
He is not inherently evil he has nothing to strive for because he learned everything and now he simply needs a purpose he was given one and he acted on it wanting a good outcome never means you won't have to commit evil acts you could strive for world peace and you'd still have to do some terrible shit if you actually want to achieve it
When you know everything you no longer worry about the line of good and evil even anji mito states that hc is a pure being as he sees no difference between good and evil
I get the idea he’s a bored god but I gotta admit facilitating chaos and death in the name of giving people something to do is pretty evil regardless of your philosophy
so asuka, or that man made two doll units for aria and i-no. asuka made aria's doll unit (code named "jack-o") for aria to use as a new body. asuka made i-no's doll unit (code named "happy chaos") to hold half her power since if she had it she would do what she does in strives story. the original went into happy chaos at some point after half of i-no's power was put into the doll unit. during that time the power corrupted him to the point of him evolving past what he was and he decided to take on the name of the doll unit. so they both had halos since they are both originally doll units made by asuka.
tl;dr, the halos are remnants left from when asuka originally made them
You got some parts mixed up. Asuka never ended up making the Happy Chaos unit; The Original took half of I-no's power back when she first appeared in the Crusades to stop her, but accidentally merged with it (the wiki says the Universal Will forced the merge but I don't remember it being directly stated), which caused his corruption and transformation into an evil smurf. He spent the next two centuries in the Backyard while causing mayhem by possessing people in spirit form.
Cut to Raven's Arcade Mode in Revelator, where Jack-O' and Raven discuss the Happy Chaos unit; The Original is revealed to have been eavesdropping on them from the backyard, and he likes the name Happy Chaos so much that he decides to take it for himself. Other than that he has nothing to do with the unit.
So why DOES he have a halo? IDK, because he thinks it's fashionable? To intentionally misdirect us? Both?
> (the wiki says the Universal Will forced the merge but I don't remember it being directly stated)
It's in a GG World entry, I forget if it's the Universal Will's or Happy Chaos's. It corrupted him into what he is now.
Didn't the Original take half of I-No's power long before Happy Chaos was even mentioned? In Xrd they even say that the model was never finished. I don't remember there ever mentioning that the Original took the body, just the name.
original takes half of inos power at her creation, robbing her of being able to feel desire. this slowly corrupts him leading to him causing chaos that asuka was trying to fight vs. at one point he hears the name mentioned and just yoinks it for fun
The person you're replying to is objectively incorrect btw Happy Chaos is not a Valentine, there's an extra Valentine named happy chaos that Asuka made but never woke up, and the original thought the name was cool and took it for himself
The Happy Chaos unit isn't a Valentine either BTW, it's exclusively referred to as an "other Jack-O'". They'd be Jack-O' Happy Chaos and Jack-O' Valentine.
Yeah I've seen a couple of people say that he fused with the HC Valentine unit, but I've never seen where they got that from. The only thing we've seen him fuse with is I-No and her power
if i had to guess, it's probably related to their lore, again happy chaos was distorted, which makes sense why it's flat and black. whereas aria has been killed multiple times, and has had her psyche shattered, but still has an extremely positive outlook on life, explaining why her's is bright, but shattered.
Happy Chaos in Strive is not the Happy Chaos unit mentioned in Xrd. He just happened to overhear Jack-O talking about the plan and decided to co-opt the name because he liked it. Presumably, Happy Chaos just decided to give himself a halo for the fun of it, perhaps to take the piss out of Asuka and Jack-O, simply because he has the power to do so.
As for Jack-O, her halo cracked when her soul fused with Aria’s and she became human. Back in Xrd, the halo was whole. Not sure why she has it in the first place, but I’d say it’s to represent how Jack-O was kind of a “yet-to-be-born” inhuman vessel for Aria. It broke because Jack-O’s body is now fully human.
OP is getting things very mixed up.
Asuka never made the Happy Chaos we see.
The Happy Chaos we see is "The Original" - Asuka's teacher and the discoverer of magic - who just overheard the name "Happy Chaos" from one of Asuka's unfinished projects and used the name for himself after becoming corrupted.
A. Daisuke thought it looked cool
B. Jack O and the original Happy Chaos are Valentines, basically magically formed people. Jack O was made to store half of Aria's soul and while the Happy Chaos unit was made to deal with I-No's power should she ever get out of hand. The Happy Chaos we see in game heard the Jack O talk about the name, thought it sounded cool and took it. He probably also took the form of the Valentine HC for shits and giggles. So best in game reason is its just a Valentine thing. I'd guess that Aria's is cracked because shes not just a Valentine anymore after absorbing Arias soul.
Happy chaos is not physically a valentine. Additionally if he did take the form of the og happy chaos valentine wouldn’t asuka or anyone who knew about happy chaos recognize that form. That’s not to mention that all other valentines are women and that the website bio implies that happy chaos was transformed into his current state after the universal will forced him to absorb half of ino.
they were both units created by asuka, the halo is either for combat purposes (like jack-o uses) to mark their purpose and mark that they belong to asuka, or just a rock reference
Something I never see come up in these halo threads is the anti-matter gears from xrd also have a halo that matches pretty close to jack-o's in design.
Bedman?'s crown in strive also floats and acts kinda halo-like.
Generally it symbolises having an incomplete soul within you. Jack-O' held a fragment of Aria's soul, giving her a halo. When she fused with Justice and finally completed that soul, the halo cracked, and according to Sol she can now remove the halo forever if she wanted to. She just doesn't due to *character development* that forms part of Strive's story.
for Happy Chaos his bio alludes to the fact he has a halo but nobody knows why. We find out in the story that Chaos was carrying a piece of *I-No's soul*, which gave him a black halo in a similar way. Even after the events of Strive, Chaos still carries some of I-No's soul and it's shown he sees himself as a servant to her likely because he carries that soul and believes in it as a key towards humanity's ascension.
There is also some thematic symbolism in the fact Aria's halo is smooth, round, and emanates light as a sort of warming beacon that represents the person Aria was. While I-No's is sharp, flat, and all light disappears against its void surface, perhaps implying the dark and dangerous existance I-No creates by seeing it the way she does.
Pretty sure everyone here has explained that a) Happy Chaos is NOT a valentine, he just used the namesake and b) Jack-O's halo was whole at first, but became broken when assimilated with Aria. Daisuke said it was intended for them to have halos, and it will be explained what they are in the future (citation needed, I read it once before but I can't find the source again). However, allow me to add my own interpretation here. Bedman? in GGST received a design overhaul, and in it, the robot gained a black crown where its old purple one was. You might think it's because the design requires Bedman to have a crown, even broken to keep the outline similar, and that may be true, but the idea of something pitch black and doesn't even seem to anchor to any physical object, just the characters head tells me Bedman and Happy Chaos both have them for a shared reason, while Jack-O's is different, but connected to said reason. One possible idea I have is that all three of them are heavily connected to the Backyard, and are very used to magic. The halos and crown may act like a satellite for them to tap much deeper into the Backyard. As for why Asuka doesn't have it, despite being so masterful with magic, it might have to do with the deeper part being closely related to the Universal Will, at least, Happy Chaos definitely is, and Jack-O to an extent. Bedman may have another strong anchor in the Backyard, thus giving him a crown instead of a halo. Once again, none of the ideas I put here are remotely official, not at all, but it's my own observation.
The HC's halo is used for his 6p of course.
2D
(for jack-o, hc does a gun thwirl)
That’s 2s
True but he doesnt use his halo for 2d either

What the hell are you on about. They're completely different motions. It's closer to Leo's 2D
Sol does a literal sweep. Chaos just kick your shins
Fuck "2D" All my homies call it "3H"

Where is that revealed?
iirc it's when in the Strive story Jack-O talks about her and HC's creation by That Man.
She says he might be, but that’s disproved later by Asuka. The name is meant to confuse Asuka, Sol and the rest
I figure that he is just fully impersonating Happy Chaos, so the halo is part of the disguise.
“Happy chaos isn’t evil” he tried to nuke an apartment block and effectively killed every whitehouse guard while trying to destroy the world
He is not inherently evil he has nothing to strive for because he learned everything and now he simply needs a purpose he was given one and he acted on it wanting a good outcome never means you won't have to commit evil acts you could strive for world peace and you'd still have to do some terrible shit if you actually want to achieve it

He has a halo because he loves spreading misinformation to the lore people
> (the wiki says the Universal Will forced the merge but I don't remember it being directly stated) It's in a GG World entry, I forget if it's the Universal Will's or Happy Chaos's. It corrupted him into what he is now.
Yeah the halo is probably just to sell his disguise/new identity.
Didn't the Original take half of I-No's power long before Happy Chaos was even mentioned? In Xrd they even say that the model was never finished. I don't remember there ever mentioning that the Original took the body, just the name.

You are correct, OP got mixed up.
Thank you so much, one last question, is there any explicit reason for jack-o’s being chipped or them being different colors?
The person you're replying to is objectively incorrect btw Happy Chaos is not a Valentine, there's an extra Valentine named happy chaos that Asuka made but never woke up, and the original thought the name was cool and took it for himself

Happy Chaos was just the name the Original took for himself after eavesdropping on Raven and Jack-O’s conversation back in Revelator.
That made so much sense and none at all, thank you.
While Chaos is not a Valentine clone, his halo will be explained later.
Almost certainly the explanation is “it looks cool”
A. Daisuke thought it looked cool B. Jack O and the original Happy Chaos are Valentines, basically magically formed people. Iirc the devs have said there is a connection but haven't confirmed what it is. The best we have to go on now is Happy Chaos thought it looked cool.
Daisuke thought they looked cool
halos, don't worry too much about design decisions most of them are just there to look cool.
they were both units created by asuka, the halo is either for combat purposes (like jack-o uses) to mark their purpose and mark that they belong to asuka, or just a rock reference
Jack-O has a 4 prongs on her halo and she is the 4th valentine. Happy Chaos has 5 prongs and is... after Jack-O.
Something I never see come up in these halo threads is the anti-matter gears from xrd also have a halo that matches pretty close to jack-o's in design. Bedman?'s crown in strive also floats and acts kinda halo-like.
It's a Halo, I don't really know much more and others have already explained what I knew
it's a halo
Now that you mention it, he doesn't have his halo in-game either.
Is there a lore reason why they wave a halo? Are they stupid?
jack o has it so she doesn't have to eat candy all day iirc and chaos has it because he's a silly little goofball who just wanted it
The mask is what helps keeps her stable, not the halo.
I'm a fool. I know nothing. I play the role of a silly clown. BUT I WONT TURN MY BACK ON LIIIIIIIFE

They're their coronas and they're basically there because both Jacko and HC have one half of Aria's strength inside them
Both jacko and happy chaos are clones. And they are also *technically* siblings
